  • Hi guys! In this video I am sharing with you something I have experienced with more frequency this year. In this video I explain what happened with my first, prolonged SVT (Supraventricular Tachycardia) attack and how my rapid heart rate was treated at the hospital. My condition is not death threatening and can be treated if I experience multiple episodes on a frequent basis.
Do not use this video as medical advice. Seek the advice of your medical doctor should you be experiencing anything with your heart. Do not rely on this video for self diagnosis.

I have been hospitalized yesterday, for SVTs. Its horrible, and lead to a major panic attack. I don't wish it on anyone else, but its nice to have others with the same experience. Best wishes to everyone effected by this, and thank you for this video, Its as close to a support group as I can get .

Those support groups and panicing will only make it worse. As she said SVT is not dangerous I have it long time just chill I think untreated strep throat is more dangerous. If its really dangerous drs would have done that simple operation of ablation to fix it =) just live normally bro

I noticed I suffer from this like 12 years ago. Doctor said I probably suffered from this since I was little , he is right. I remember having this symptoms, when I played sports.
I thought I was just getting tired.
Am 53 now. I notice that when I worry too much, first I get “ panic attacks” then follow by svt. I hate it !! Like just reading about this, my brain knows or remembers, then I start getting nervous, so I got to stop thinking about this.....
Follow Doctors advise, take your medicine. Am on metoprolol. And high blood pressure med. I had oblation done seven yrs ago, didn’t work....I use to worry too much, what if I die!! Then that’s when I get more nervous, then “panic attacks” then svt.
Now I figured, we all die one way or another, sooner or later... Go out there and enjoy life, do nice things for others, pay for someone’s cup of coffee,Smile more !!! God has control of your Life ,,, God Bless You !!!

Does anyone else get nauseous and sweaty and start shaking really bad during an episode? My episodes have been getting more and more frequent I just went to the ER last night for one but of course by the time they did the EKG my heart had slowed down. The ER doctor said she thinks I have SVT. however my primary doc always blows me off and tells me it’s my anxiety but I have get these attacks when I’m completely calm. They have woken me up from sleep before too. Every time it happens it’s Fucking terrifying and I feel like I’m going to die. I feel a lot less alone now reading all these comments and I wish the best to all of you. Hopefully I can find a treatment for this so I can get my life back.

It is the most terrifying thing to go through. I also would start shaking and felt like I was going to die, and I experienced this every day. I hope you managed to get some answers and recover

Same with me, exactly the same shit. My Psychologist that prescribed me an antidepressant in the spring thinks its breakthrough anxiety. Given, I am a very anxious person... I don't believe it's "just anxiety" I have a history on my maternal side of the family, my grandmother, my aunt, my mother and my sister have SVT'S. I am 32 years old and have never experienced it before. Why did it start when I started taking Viibryd for an antidepressant? Is it coincidental? Or is the medication 💊 agitating it? This happens to me only at night. Woken up out of a dead sleep sweating and feeling like I'm going to die. Today my psychologist decreased my antidepressant from 20 mg to 10 mg.... and upped my dose of propranolol from 20 to 40 until I see my cardiologist. My request was to taper off all the medication she didn't think this was a good idea. I'm discouraged. I feel for all that are dealing with this, anyone else noticed it after incorporating a new medication?

saw your vid and wanted to reach out to you. I had a case of svt over a decade ago, about 13 years ago.so pretty much about six months during my jr year of high school. I had to quit sports, wear a halter monitor for a while, it was a nightmare. with the set comes a lot of anxiety. My case was a bit more severe and the episodes do come at random unexpected times or during weird movements like deep yawns or bending over to pick something up. I was having about one episode a week than I got the ablation done. I instantly felt complete relief after the procedure, and never again had another episode. I highly suggest the procedure, at least for your peace of mind that an episode will never come along again. since than I have run marathons, climbed mountains amongst other fun stuff. good luck!!!

I just had the Ablation procedure yesterday. I'm now home recovering. It was actually a very positive experience. My doctor burned off the tissue that was causing the issue and said it is 97% effective so I should be good moving forward. If it happens again, he'll do a 2nd procedure but he assured me it shouldn't happen again. Everyone was awesome and made me laugh the entire time until they gave me some juice and put me to sleep. Lol...the procedure was about 1.5 hours and was outpatient. I was there like 12 hours yesterday because they made me lie there after the procedure for 8 hours. They went in through my groin and neck....I'm only sore...I have no other side effects!! He said it takes 6-8 weeks for my heart to fully heal. No lifting over 5lbs the first week. 😊

It's honestly such a weird feeling. It's not just like a regular fast heat rate for me, I can instantly tell when I'm having an episode of SVT from the fluttering feeling in my chest. After a few seconds, it feels like a wall of exhaustion just hits you and all of your energy is gone. Not to mention that it makes my anxiety a lot worse as the possibility of a trip to the hospital is always in the back of my mind. I also experience dizziness, tingling in my hands, and being super cold after episodes. It can be really scary... especially if you're an over thinker.

Very informative video. I first experienced SVT when I was 24 yrs of age & was misdiagnosed w/ anxiety & panic attacks. The episodes would only last 5 mins. Today I am in my 30's, had an episode which lasted almost 1 hour. Thought I was having heart attack (very scary.) I was given Adenosine in the ambulance, my heart rate was 280 BPM! The diagnosis: Supraventriculartachycardia. As the Adenosine pumped through my body, everything felt worse, thought I was in the midst of death. The ER doc told me to see my Cardiologist. I wasn't prescribed Beta Blocker because those meds are for life & difficult to discontinue. With SVT, it's like your heart is running a marathon while your body is completely still. It's a scary feeling but I've been told that it can be managed. Just always listen to your body! Don't get misdiagnosed with panic attacks!

I have every single day now, fluttering, PVS, PACS (not harmful but these hard singular thudding beats drive me insane) and many days short quick bouts of SVT which can sometimes make me feel dizzy immediately. I hate it so much, despite I have had episodes in the past that lasted 15 minutes to an hour and could make me somewhat dizzy, I find these short lived ones just as awful to live with nearly every other day. Maybe I’m too sensitive? I keep being told they won’t kill me but I can’t stand it. I wish I knew for sure these fast random beats lasting seconds were in fact SVT.
I’m on propranolol (beta blocker) and since quitting vaping the lack of nicotine my resting heart rate decreased so paired with the beta blocker I’ve decreased my dosage of the beta blocker. The beta blocker has never really altered much for me except my resting heart rate.

I’ve had SVT for about 13 years. Wasn’t diagnosed until 4 years ago. Terrible, horrible experience. Had an ablation 3 years ago, the daily skips and flips returned 6 months later. Things have been pretty bad the past year, to where I had to stop working and have been home since because of the anxiety of the whole thing. This is why I turned to TH-cam; a way to have fun, express myself (and maybe make a living one day if I’m lucky) and most importantly to get my mind off of this horrible heart arrhythmia.

Hey, just stumbled upon your video. Really cool and helpful to hear your experience and It’s amazing how you are so call about it. I’m 26 but I got my first attack when I was probably 19 or 20, it has been happening more and more often throughout the years. I deployed with the military in 2016 and had a couple attacks, saw a doctor afterwords and they all said it was anxiety so they prescribed me anxiety medication which I didn’t take. Returned to the states and continued to have attacks monthly I would say, they each last from anywhere from 5-15 minutes. But most recently I was at home after a night out and having dinner, walked to my backyard and bent over for a second and BOOM! I literally stood up, looked at my partner and said I AM DONE, I was tired of dealing with the attacks. We rushed to a nearby hospital and the nurses freaked out. I literally had the supervising doctor and the chief resident in my room along with roughly 7-10 nurses. They stuck me with the IV and had me try different exercises. I was freaking out and my heart rate accelerated because I was so damn scared. They had me try the syringe thing and I was going to pass out so I stopped and the doctor said that if I couldn’t get rid of the irregular heart beat then they would shoot me up with that medicine. I freaked out even more and did the syringe exercise for ten seconds and I almost blacked out. They quickly laid the bed flat and a nurse grabbed my head and a doctor picked up my legs and but so that I was almost upside down lol. My heartbeat went back to normal. It was the craziest thing. Since then they told me I most likely have SVT. I am currently getting tested, just had my ultrasound and they said my heart looks normal and healthy. Going to get the monitor patch in a week or so and meet with the cardiologist. I didn’t know there was a surgery, that’s interesting, I’ll look into it. But anyway hope you stay healthy and keep fighting this annoyance. God Bless.

Thank you so much for your video. I have experienced this. I went to the hospital several times, and was diagnosed with a panic attack each time. But I knew that was the wrong diagnosis because I did not experience any anxiety before it happened. Just a sudden racing heartbeat. Afterward, I was dizzy as hell. I am much older than you (66). I have had some other episodes when I was younger, but I thought it was no big deal, because it straightened out on its own. Thank you for telling me it is not dangerous. You made me happy today!

This is so inspiring that you stay so calm! I got the surgery because my attacks were every other day at age 18. It was gone and I had a short attack for about 15 seconds a few months ago while dancing, I am now 23. It was short but so sad that it happened again when I thought I was all healed. I have a panic attack every time I get a heart palpitation now. The doctor said it can't kill me but I'm so scared and want to rush to the hospital if it happens, so you were set on finishing your workout and I really admire that. I stopped dancing, I used to do it everyday but i'm too scared to start again, and honestly the fear is ruining life, I hold myself back from EVERYTHING. Please send me any advice on how you stay calm and deal with it your honestly a boss. Thank you so much for making this video.

So I called 911 and the ambulance came and my heart was beating very fast. One of the paramedics mentioned that this was an SVT. They gave me a dose of that medication as well through an IV and when it entered my body it felt exactly as you described it. It was the worst sensation I ever felt. My SVT episodes started around 12 years ago. Two methods alleviate it for me: 1. Lie in the recovery position on your left side, for me normal sinus rhythm usually returns in seconds. 2. Sit comfortably and fully relaxed, breath in deeply then very slowly (30ish seconds) release the air from your lungs. This works for me, I'm not saying it'll work for others but who knows unless you try. Mine is asymptomatic so my GP is happy to leave me be, but if symptoms develop we'll discuss beta blockers or ablation. Thanks for sharing Aileen.

you have no idea how much I appreciate you for making this video. I deal with episodes about once a month. It used to happen bending down, not it happens randomly usually when I’m tired or outside in heat. But what frightens me the most is that when it’s going to happen I feel like my breathe gets completely taken away. And I immediately pound my chest to catch my breathe and boom my heart is pounding/racing. It was scary when it happened the first few times, but now I live in fear that it will happen in public or at work.

Speaking from a medical point of view and having suffered from 3 episode of same. Highest beat was 245. It is important to have that heart rhythm converted as soon as possible to prevent a more fatal rhythm. It's never a case of its ok to do nothing or let it slide. It's very scary and I understand what's happening, because I am a trained ER Nurse. Gotten Adenosine twice and I would not wish that for an enemy. For those us that experience this just need to follow up with our cardiologist and be on the safe side. This rhythm is not to be taken lightly.

My grandma had afib for example for 40 years she ended up being permanently in it and lived the rest of her life with it I doubt it ever switched into a fatal rhythm I think it's more likely she died of a stroke

The Doctors told me it was not life threatening. They wanted to put me on beta blockers, I also refused to take that medication. I have low pressure, that medicine lowers blood pressure. I have these SVT's occur several times a month. I try many tricks to get my heart beat back to a normal rhythm. I used to cough hard, hold my nose shut and blow hard, press on my carotid artery in my neck. When that doesn't work, I dip my face in a bowl of ice water. My electrophsyciologist (cardiologist that deals with the electrical part of the heart) suggested ablation. But, these Doctor's make their living off of these procedures. It is their bread and butter. So, since I don't feel I am severe enough (the highest my heart rate was 170) and I can get it under control; I am choosing to not have it done at this time. If it get worse, I will definitely consider doing the ablation.

Hi Aileen, this is very well explained :) I have had svt's now for about 5 years - initially presented when I was drumming live with the band (I'm a drummer for 35 years now) - would last anywhere from 1 minute to an hour - it's tough to just stop playing midway through a set - so I learned to exercise while having an episode - even though it's very unpleasant - earlier this year I had my Covid booster and it caused an svt episode for 4 hours plus - however, my bpm's would not go higher than 150 or so - but it was steady at that bpm and was making me very dizzy and nauseous after awhile - and I almost fainted a few times too from the massive head rushes I would get - when I did get to the hospital, they were going to give me andesine to get my heart back into a regular sinus rhythm - just as they were about to do that my heart by itself finally got back into a normal sinus rhythm. Since then I get the svt's on and off - lately they have become more aggressive, especially when working out or when I'm drumming - gives me tons of anxiety in the process but an episode has never killed me - and I have been through a ton of them. Beta blockers did not work for me - made symptoms worse! So, when I went to go see the electrophysiologist back in the summer, he recommended an ablation - he said if I am getting any more than 2-3 episodes a month, that is already too much and based on how active and athletic I am, this would improve my quality of life greatly - so I'm contemplating the procedure.

Hey girl. So, I can relate to your story 100%. I have had this condition since I was about 10 and I am currently 19. I would have those episodes at least 3 times a month and I was involved in competitive soccer and it was a struggle and very uncomfortable to have to sit out at practice because no one knew what was exactly happening. Luckily, about a year ago I had my ablation surgery and it was a great choice. I have not had an episode. I do frequently get burning or little beats but not nearly as bad or scary. However, I will always have anxiety from just thinking about it unfortunately. But I would recommend having the surgery. Hope this helped!

Just had a nice E.R.visit yesterday thanks to this condition. The best thing I have found to break out of svt is ICE!!! Splash your face with cold water and put ice on your neck. Really helps. Also, my cardio told me to lay down whereever you are (even if it's in public) and put your feet up on a wall. Crazy looking but it helps me. I go for an ablation on the 30th of this month!

Thanks for this video. Ambulance trip and a few hours in ER a few nights ago. Initially thought it was a panic attack but once inside the ambulance they realised I was hitting 180bpm and in SVT. Maneuver's didn't work so off I went. Strangely it came down by itself over a few hours. These last couple of days I've been experiencing repeated panic attacks in anticipation of it happening again, when in reality my heart's never going over 100. It was just a traumatic experience and I'm still dealing with it. Having read up about it, it's been very reassuring to know its unlikely to be dangerous.

Gavin Dias An ablation is a procedure performed on your heart to cauterize a node that is causing the rapid heartbeat ... to put it simply

Since then i feel sometimes rarely it wants to happen again and i automatically cough right away and only once and it disappears right away. But recently it is happening more often and it is initiated with physical movements while before it was not physical and oly random or mentally or emotionally activated, by the way when it happened the very first time i was in a really depressed and that triggered it i believe .

Sounds exactly like my experience with SVT. The episodes almost always start after I bend over or sit awkwardly while watching television. Although the episodes usually last about 30-60 seconds, I experienced an episode that lasted over an hour. I went to the ER with a pulse of 179. But the medical staff got it to stop with the bearing down exercise. Scary situation. I’ve never passed out from them. But I must be honest, it usually happens either after eating large meals or the day after a night of drinking. A healthy life style would cure me just fine I’m sure!

I had an SVT attack that lasted for almost two hours. I didn’t know what was wrong. I did NOT realize it was my heart beating too fast. I simply felt like I was going to faint, and it wouldn’t go away. I finally went to the ER and my rate rate was 160 bpm. I thought, hooray, I am not imaging things or making something out of nothing. I felt no anxiety at all during the attack. When they told me it was a problem with my heart- that’s when I felt a bit anxious. I was given adenosine and my heart rate reverted to normal. I have had attacks since then, but none that lasted as long. Everyone’s experience is different.
I did learn to take my pulse!

I have SVT too! Been living with it for 10 years. Unfortunately, gotten worse with time so now taking medication, but it is more manageable with some lifestyle changes. Lack of sleep, poor diet and stress will definitely contribute to frequency of episodes, but I hope things work out for you with this!

    • @pauljones4695
      @pauljones4695 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I agree, lack of sleep was a major contributing factor to mine. Twelve hour twilight shift work on ambulances was causing 2 or 3 episodes a day. I quit the ambulances New Years Eve for a normal 9 'til 5 and have had no more than a handful of episodes since. Ironically, a lot of our ambulance work was carrying heart patients to a major cardiac unit for cardiac ablation for, would you believe.... SVT.

Thank you for sharing...I’m facing the same too..my heart started racing and went up to 170bpm., I rushed into hospital. Since my mother passed away due to heart attack few years back, my doctor conducted all sorts of tests from ultrasound to nuclear stress test. All of them came clear. I’m now on beta blockers small dose, also have moderate blood pressure. I haven’t had any episode since then, but at times it does go up till 120bpm. But what is worst is that my quality of sleep has gone downhill. I wake up after almost exactly 4 hours of sleep and flee like my heart is pounding. It lasts for a minute and goes away, but then I can’t sleep and feel like my entire body is shaking due to the heart beat.

This might be kind of long vut it may help you to read it. I have had svt since I was about 10 years old and I am now 22. When I have an episode I don't get a panicked as when I had my very first episode. I use to hyperventilate from sheer panic and fear now I have an svt I'm just like .. (sigh) not again. I have had an svt when taking the garbage to the dumpster and lifting the lid, i have had episodes while bending over to pick things up, I have had svt playing ball and do I g pushups and situps. The worst and weirdest episode I've had was when I was showering (forgive me). I stepped out of the shower and boom.. episode. It lasted about 20 minutes and I began to get lightheaded from panic and hyperventalation and prolonged fast heartrate. I had to get a shot of adenosine and that shot hurt like nothing I've experienced. It wasn't the worst pain ever but it was the worst pain you can feel while not having any physical harm done to you. It felt like my body wanted to implode on itself and it started from my chest and went up to my head like a headrush of pain. It worked though so that good. My highest heartbeats during an svt is like 232 bpm. It's scary but I've come to terms with it. I think of it as side effect of some superpower that I've yet to discover. It helps.
Tips that I would give to people with svt.
#1 When you have to puck something up off of the ground, don't bend at the waste to make a 90 degree angle. Instead take a deep breath to slow your heart and exhale. bend at the knees like your doing a squat when picking an item off the ground. Like the detectives in movies and tv shows do.
#2 drink a cold glass of water in the morning to hydrate your organs and insides for the day ahead. (You can literally feel the cold water moisturize your insides) it's refreshing.
#3 be careful when walking down stairs or stepping off of curbs. If you have ever been walking down a flight of steps and accidentally missed a step and landed on the next one down you know how it make your body impact. That impact has caused me an episode before. Be careful on stairs and curbs.
#4 pay attention to your body. sometimes I have felt I was going to have an episode minutes or even an hour or two before it happens. It's a slight off feeling that you will have mainly in your solar plexus region.
Your internal organs nearest your sloar plexus may feel light or bouncy or your solar plexus as a whole may feel light and loose kind like that feeling you get in your tummy except it'll be in your chest instead if that makes sense.
If you have that normal feeling where all of your internal components in your solar plexus region are nice, weighted, snug and compact then no worries but still, don't over exert yourself.
#5 when you have an episode I know the feeling it causes. That drop everything I'm doing and find the nearest place to sit and do vagal maneuvers. But as soon as you feel it happen don't panic. Especially in front of someone who doesn't know you have svt or is new to finding out you have svt. That will only make them panic and because they are panicing you get excited and so does your already over excited heart. Keep calm, find a place to sit where your knees don't go above your waste line. You want the oxygen to be able to flow through your body. So a chair, a counter top , a stool or something of the sort. Ok, so. Relay to someone as calmly as possible that your having an svt and to dial 911 for paramedics. If there is no around you or you are private about it then you will have to call 911 yourself.
#6 to try and slow the svt while paramedics make their way to you. Or if there is no phone near to call them.... take about 3 deep
Breaths in a calm rhythm and on the 3rd breath, breathe out halfway and bare down like your taking a poop and your really trying to push it out or as another example like your mouth is glued closed and your pinching your nose like you are about to dive underwater. Then try to exhale as hard as you can through your mouth while its closed without letting any air escape. After about 5 seconds take more deep breaths to prevent getting too lightheaded and passing out then do it again. Deep breaths, exhale halfway, and bare down like you are pooping really hard.
It's normal to get a little lightheaded during this but if you start to get too lightheaded you should not continue and should wait for paramedics instead.
    Extra tips.
Tobacco products, alcohol/liquor, Gatorade, dark sodas(pepsi, cola, dr.pepper), coffee and tea are things that can cause svt due to the electrolytes in Gatorade and caffeine and the way substances like waccy tobaccy and alcoholic beverages effect your blood, veins etc. Sodium, physical overexertion, 90 degree bending at the waste, unexpected body impact (missing a step on a starcase), dehydration, I once had an svt episode from a literal hiccup😆, just to add some light in here. But yeah just get to know your body as best you can take care of your temple of a body and remember you are capable of anything you aspire to do. I have had svt for so long and I always googled it and never thought to TH-cam it. I recently found out it's more common than I thought it was so I found this vid and decided to share what I am blessed enough to have realized about this condition and the little things you can do outside of the doctors office to help lessen it. I wonder what all of us with svt have in common that may be the cause. Hmm. Superpowers most definitely
    New subscriber as of now.
    Love you guys❤

I was recently diagnosed with SVT. I actually have dysautanomia so I honestly wrote it off as that till my cardiologist sent me a message. I saw them in the office and they showed me my heart rate.
I have a monitor in my chest that was place in June 2017. My heart had paused for about 10-15 seconds. I felt it happen when my heart went to skip a beat and I was watching a video of my brother who's funeral I was at the day before and so I was crying, but I felt it coming on and I sat up and said my husbands name while feeling for my heart rate when suddenly everything went black and I felt nothing. It wasn't anything like the normal fainting I do. I felt NOTHING. Yet I was fully aware of what was happening. It was crazy!!! I woke in my husbands arms and started crying.
However I had an ablation done 4 years ago for RVOT. So I'm no stranger to all of this, but the SVT. I didn't see coming. I was super sad about it, but I was just told my heart was good. Nothing had happen since then besides the usual stuff from my autonomic nervous system disorder.
So I've decided to start meds and I will have a ablation in a couple months if it doesn't help. I want "normal" so bad. I had it for a few seconds there!
I feel for you! I really do!

I have tachycardia related to anxiety. I've had 160bpm for hours. What works for me is the vagal manouver. Also, I count my pulse with my finger and at the same time as tapping my foot in time with my heartbeat. I'll start tapping it slower, and taking deep slow breaths. In through the mouth for 8 seconds and out for 8 seconds. It usually makes the heart faster for a moment, but keep going and let your body relax. This really helps me. When my heart gets up to 180bpm during a panic attack I can slow it down quickly by doing that.

I personally chug ice cold water until it stops and it works every time. I got diagnosed three years ago and it happens every now n then; once every three to four months or twice thankfully. The only thing that I’ve been able to control it with is chugging ice cold water - sometimes it takes a minute or two, just be patient n keep chugging. You can get a brain freeze n it’ll stop or keep going until it does. I’ve done this for the past two years.

  • @spaciousvoid1
    @spaciousvoid1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

SVT is something that makes you want to resolve it ASAP. During SVT with a fast heart rate, it is really uncomfortable. You won't be sitting around waiting for your heart rate to go down. You want it normal ASAP, because it is really uncomfortable. Not painful, but really troublesome. Mine was usually about 220 bpm. If you haven't gotten your heart rate down to normal within 5 minutes using any and all tricks, then just go immediately to the ER for adenosine. For those who may think they can sit at home and wait for it to go to normal, if you wait too long, you may have a heart attack. I guess I would be talking about 1+ hours. One time by the time I got to the hospital and by the time they got adenosine in me it was about an hour. They hook you up to the machines and they said I had a minor heart attack which I didn't even feel, because SVT was so overbearing. So if you don't get it down in a timely manor, serious consequences could occur. It might depend on how fast your heart is actually beating in order to determine the severity of the consequences. Of the eight times of SVT occurrence in two years that it happened to me, I was up and about such as at work or home, and only one time it woke me up in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. Since my ablation, I never had any trouble with SVT again and that was 10 years ago. Now I'm fifty years old.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I've been struggling with SVT for almost 4 years now, meds reduced it but it's not completely gone so I decided to get an ablation which is scheduled for oktober, fingers crossed

I've had SVT for over 30yrs and the highest it has elevated was 240 bpm 🙈 Every time I see a Cardiologist and go for tests.... EVERYTHING IS NORMAL. 🤯😭

I have SVT and am a nursing student so I know a fair bit about it. It CAN become life threatening if your blood pressure gets really low (shock) or it can turn into a fatal rhythm so it is important to get it treated!

Thank you so much - I knew nothing about this. My daughter was hospitalized for SVT. So scary.

I have WPW syndrome and when the paramedics got to me they said that my heart rate was at 286. I did experience dizziness, short of breath, tunnel vision, chest pain. It was the worst episode I’ve ever had. It’s not fun. I workout too and that’s actually how that episode got triggered.

After I have an episode my chest will hurt for 1-4 days following. I’m assuming my heart hurts. Does anyone with SVT also experience this? My heart doesn’t just beat fast but also pounds hard. The pounding is what scares me.

Hi guys so maybe a little over 5 months ago I started experiencing SVT attacks my first one was so severe but I didn’t go to the hospital because I was scared to get the coronavirus in the waiting room, I had other attacks that last maybe a minute or two but I just recently had another attack at work and this is the one that caused me to go to the ER to find out that it was called SVT this is very scary I’m not even sure how I developed something like this and I hate it because I always have a headache after the attacks and feel super tired but can’t fall asleep because I can physically feel my heart beating hard even once I’m calm down just ready for this to be all over if it keeps happening I will definitely do the surgery,,I am actually on a heart monitor as we speak and I had another attack watching this video I guess my emotions triggered it this time

How are you ? I'm awaiting to be sent to an Electrophysiologist bc of SVTs of almost 3 yrs.

SVT is a general term for electrical arrhythmias that stem from the heart's upper chambers. I had an electro physiology study 13 years ago and they determined I had episodes of Atrial Tachycardia meaning that there are areas of my atrium that emit an accessory impulse that short circuits my heart's normal rhythm. They did the ablation to zap that spot but the SVTs returned 2 years later. I don't think you can will yourself into stopping an SVT. You need to try and find a maneuver that might work for you. For me it's getting into a shoulder stand position as quick as possible. Being that your SVTs are triggered by bending over, a positional maneuver may well work. BTW, I only have on average 3 episodes a year but the rate has gone as high as 240 BPM. I'm 72. In good shape. I work out but hate when that sh_t happens. And yeah Adenosine makes u feel like you're dying for a moment or two. Not fun but neither is an SVT.

Wow..............it only takes one time for a persons heart to go into V-Tach, Code and need to be resuscitated. That happened to me, and I happened to be in a Cath Lab when it took place, where they were able to bring me back. I would not pretend this away, I would see a Cardiologist who specializes in heart arrhythmias and get it taken care of. Best of luck.

Mine lasted for 1:30 almost 2 hours from my apartment to the er.
Adenosine 6mg was given & I also suffer from panic attacks/anxiety so I'm sure that contributes, as well as coffee
    Which I've cut out completely
