Ah 1998. Such a simpler time, for me. Mid 20s, newly married, the world at my feet, and Armageddon at the cinema. Now I'm almost 50, I weep for that lost youth. A beautiful cover, thank you Audra and the rest of F211.
One of my all time favorite Aerosmith songs from one of my favorite movies covered by one of my favorite cover bands. You guys killed it. Audra's voice is perfect for this song.

This just blew my tiny mind, if Audra isn't one of the best singers in rock I don't know who is. How her voice is so rich and soulful beyond her years, it's amazing! And this cover was great!
I'm anticipating her vocal drop in a few years when she'll have an even richer, even more soulful tone.
I'll say that Lzzy Hale from Halestorm's Audra's benchmark for being one of the best singers in rock. It's ironic, given that F211 don't generally enjoy doing Halestorm covers.

Just started finding your covers. You guys are tight. The singers voice is pretty unique and very soothing and smooth. (thank you by the way for NOT doing vocal runs every other bar like every other you tube female singer seems to do these day) Most of all you are true to the original version with minor enhancements not crazy changes. Awesome job. I actually fell asleep last night play listing you guys. Not often that happens where I don't shut it down after a single artist playing back to back to back gets to be grating.

The only times when I dislike a song being covered by F211 are times when the original version of a song brings me negative feelings. F211 are never responsible for a song bringing me negative feelings. Their covers enhance songs which I dislike, and I don't feel negatively about those songs, over time. I appreciate them more. Songs like this, which I love and which bring me positive feelings, gain awesome adaptations. F211 do greater work than they may realize, at times.

As this is one of my favourites ballads, I got used to Steven Tyler's epic screams on it. The sweetnes in Audra's voice, though, never dissapoints. And those high notes at the end, they felt so right I couldn't help but sing along. Amazing cover guys, thank you for this!

I hope that F211'll cover it and that you'll enjoy it, though I'm concerned that F211 may cover most of the same songs as The Iron Cross, which is another popular cover band. It's not awful for bands to cover these classic songs, though heavy saturation of covers of the same songs doesn't leave cover bands with much room to cover songs much differently from how they'd been covered by others.

And honestly when it comes to whitesnake. They have maybe 8 songs that are considered classics to cover.
And when you eliminate here I go again that is a 7 song rotation.

One or two of these songs per each artist will add up to around 500 covers in time, and it's not necessary to cover main artists with classic songs which are popular enough to cover. It's common for most successful cover bands to cover Sweet Child O' Mine, Enter Sandman, Carry on Wayward Son, Bohemian Rhapsody, Crazy Train, Don't Stop Believin', Livin' on a Prayer, Here I Go Again, Smells Like Teen Spirit, All the Small Things, and Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Why is it common for most successful cover bands to cover these songs? It's common because they're the most popular classic hits which can be heard, and bands covering them bring joy to many people's lives. Considering this, the most popular songs to cover aren't the only songs which are popular enough to cover, and other songs which are popular enough to cover bring joy to many others. The most popular classic songs to cover tend to have a large amount of requests made for them, which tends to make requests for other popular classic songs seem modest, though there are hundreds of artists with classic hits which are popular enough to cover which don't have their classic hits covered often. If bands like First to Eleven listen to other covers of these songs, they may have an idea of what they can do differently for their covers of these songs from what other bands are doing for their covers of these songs, though if there are many covers of Here I Go Again, there won't be many covers which present it differently from Whitesnake's rerecording in unique ways. F211 can take on popular classic songs which most of us would hear on a classic rock radio station or a stream, White Rabbit, (Don't Fear) The Reaper, More Than a Feeling, Rebel Rebel, etc., and there will be a ton of alterations which can be made to them by which will allow us to identify F211's covers as being uniquely theirs, though when F211 tackle "meme-level classic" songs, they cover songs which more bands have done everything which they can do to. There will be a point where F211 will record and release a faithful cover of Here I Go Again or they'll attempt to make a creative alteration to it and learn that several bands had made more significant creative alterations to it. Their covers can come across to many as being obligatory, if they work in heavily saturated territory. F211 hadn't had to face that dilemma with their covers of 1985, Oops!... I Did it Again, or Iris. They'd been able to take risks with changing keys, scales, and tempos, and their covers of those songs don't sound like anyone else's.
It pays off to cover monumental classics, though for a band to stand out from others, covering other songs in ways which aren't being considered by others is what I feel will cement a cover band as being exceptional. It's common to view cover bands as being uncreative, though when they can be like F211 and bring something special to their covers, make them poppier, make them punkier, transpose their instrumentals, etc., they can receive as much love for their work as most bands which release original music.
Other Whitesnake classic songs than Here I Go Again and Still of the Night are popular enough to be covered, though their lyrics don't hold similar sentimental values to Here I Go Again and Still of the Night. I feel that F211 wouldn't be able to make most of Whitesnake's songs with "Love" and "Heart" in their titles feel that they're not contrived. I feel that most fans of F211 wouldn't want to hear Audra singing something which is dialed in. When F211 cover Whitesnake, I feel that it's in their best interest to select one of Whitesnake's two songs which are universal classics, though watching F211 go through motions of covering songs which are requested from them after popular cover bands which they share many fans with cover them isn't something which I feel will be exciting to most F211 fans. F211 are great about working their way to covering popular songs without making their path easy to trace. F211 are close with Halocene, Lauren Babic, and Violet Orlandi, though they don't generally cover the same songs as Halocene, Lauren Babic, and Violet Orlandi around the same time which they do. F211 will record many curveball covers, and I feel that their cover of Here I Go Again will have more substance to it than covers of it which have been recorded and released by most other bands, when they record and release their cover of it.

Back in peak Aerosmith years, during the MTV awards, the host would joke,
"Coming up - the Best Music Video award - which we know Aerosmith will win anyway!" - that was how good Aerosmith music videos were (and still are).
This video is superb and shows that the song itself is really, really excellent and doesn't need a mega budget video to enhance it.
In a Rolling Stone magazine interview years ago with Aerosmith, Aerosmith said that whenever they record a song, they make a cassette tape version and go to a second hand car with a cassette deck to test if they sound good in a basic system that most of their fans are likely to have - or at least back when cassettes were what people used to listen to music in their cars and digital downloads were a figment of science fiction imagination. That is attention to detail - no point recording and selling a song that only sounds good if you have a top of the range sound system.
I reckon First to Eleven would sound great too if they recorded on old school cassettes and were played in a car cassette player.

Let's not exagerate... can't even touch the original but is a proper cover.
I support the first part of this comment entirely. I feel that Audra's dynamics are the most important part of what makes her a great vocalist.
As far as the second part goes, I won't deny that Audra's vocals here are strong and that this arrangement for the song's great, though the magic of the original song's not something which I can prefer this cover's magic over. Steven Tyler's studio vocals are without unintentional flaw, his vocal cracks are as precise as one can imagine them to be, the original song's orchestral arrangement's breathtaking before Aerosmith are properly involved with the song, and there's a sincere impact from the song. We get a man singing Diane Warren's lyrics for his daughter, who he hadn't been able to know for a large part of his life. Steven had stopped abusing drugs after abusing drugs for much of his life. He'd been able to get to know Liv, and to see her become an acting star. Armageddon's a massive film. We can hear the ache which Steven had felt in his heart after missing most of her life, to promise her that he doesn't want to miss more of it. Steven didn't write this song, and he hadn't done any more with it than Audra did here, though he'd been connected to this song more than Audra is. It plays a huge part in why so many people feel so many things when listening to it. If Armageddon hadn't been such a classic film, this song would still be remembered as one of the greatest songs which has been composed for a film. Many will prefer one version or the other, and some will prefer neither. For me there's more intent in Aerosmith's iteration of this song, though I enjoy hearing this cover a ton.
