Smart young man. If you don't trade it, you don't own it. There are many utility cryptos that are undervalued that most regular folks can afford to buy and trade themselves opposed to purchasing a Bitcoin ETF. If you missed the boat on BTC, don't go chasing green candles. When others are greedy, be fearful. When others are fearful, be greedy. We are currently in a everything bubble, all markets are at all time highs with no real growth and productivity. The bubbles are about to pop in many different markets. Be ready and maybe you can get some great assets dirt cheap.. In my opinion, It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Donna Mikalonis, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

It's meant to be calculated risk and well thought out, a calculated risk should be where you find it very hard to see a scenario coming into fruition that you'd lose money based on hard evidence that demonstrates it is secure and will grow longer term. @@gillohner8179 I mean I have some volatile stocks, but I disagree it is not volatile it is very risky. If the fed are bringing out their own digital currency come june, as well as china bringing out their own digital currency. Where does this essentially leave bitcoin? It seems like grounds for the fed to clamp down on every non-fed digital currency in the same way china clamped down on bitcoin. If the two world super powers wont use it, it can only really then survive in criminal networks and third world countries. To me considering such things poses an inherent risk, not to mention all of the AI hype around the corner. When that takes off too, then it could essentially potentially render all of the current blockchain technology worthless in the future. So when you speak of not losing money long term, and considering these long term possibilities - It is not volatile imo, it is extremely risky. It is not the same asset wise as owning a piece of land which will always be relevant to some degree, or gold, which will always have certain uses as a raw material. You cannot say it isnt risky long term that is delusional and hopium, especially at the rate technology progresses and the creative destruction you see with that - plus the fact the gov does have a lot of power, and does not like it, means it is likely they will do something about it. All things considered no one can sit here and say it is not risky like it is set in stone bitcoin is the future of everything. It isnt.

Watching this again. It's a great breakdown and he lays it out really well. Prefers Gold, says BTC is small. Reserve currencies in order: Dollar, Euro, Gold, Yen. Central bankers are buying gold and they are not buying bonds. The BTC market cap thing is interesting to think about, I guess it adds to potential adoption while keeping it niche for larger investors.
I'm 6:00 in, learning Dalios thoughts on Bitcoin: I like to meditate, he says. Take a walk. Will you lose your house? What matters. Count your blessings. Relax.
7:40 Dalio has wise thoughts on making money to achieve happiness: Past a basic amount of money so that you don't have misery there is no correlation between the level of money you have and the level of happiness you have. He's really good, and I'm down with what he says but it's always jarring to hear one of these guys who hustled their way to the absolute top, saying it doesn't matter.
8:10 Dalio on happiness: "The highest correlation is do you have a community. Community correlates with happiness, longevity, stress...I lived most of my life in the united states and now live in a rural central american 'community' and I couldn't agree more. The sadness is you don't understand the importance of community, really, until you can compare having it and not having, or vice versa. I think the loss of community is the biggest cancer in the US.
In markets and investing you get people who just love the process, love the game, and do incredibly well, not to make a lot of money (like Bezos or Zack) but just to win at the thing they are doing. I think a lot of the math and quant guys are like this and if you are an analytical problem solver markets are a fun place to solve the problems you pose. Finally, I say Dalio comes across a lot better than Dimon to me, maybe I'm just seeing Dimon on the defensive right now. Take it from the man.

And you know, people all want to come to the west. And I get it. But you try to tell people life here isn’t paradise, and they don’t understand you. You try to explain yourself by saying there’s real misery, that there are even lots of homeless people. But they still don’t believe you when you say you didn’t just descend from heaven. They see the money that he allowed you to come to those countries and think you have it all. I think it’s similar to what he’s saying. Money can only do so much. Yes, that’s easy for him to say, but it’s still true.

    1. Portability (holding value over space)
    2. Durability (holding value over time)
    3. Recognizability (holding value between people)
    4. Divisibility (holding value at different scales)

      Come on now...
(1): In most spaces Bitcoin is worth less than the storage it sits on because it is not accepted as money and has no fallback value
(2): Bitcoin and a lot of altcoins are famous for not holding their value and instead wildly varying, nobody wants this for the thing that is supposed to buy them bread
(3): Same point as 1 more or less, the majority of people and establishments attach no value to it
(4): This one actually holds, although it can get tedious if we have to represent it physically
(5): I mean sure, BTC doesn't have tail emissions or something but this is not really the dominating factor of the value it holds
Money or a currency is exactly what I can buy with it, how much and where. And a lot of crypto fails at all of these, to some degree due to technical reasons and some due to hype attracting too many speculators.

@@DiscovererAlpha what do you mean "fallback value" a monetary instrument has no fallback value. It is either a monetary asset or it is a useful good(outside of money). It cannot fulfill both and be scarce. I never mentioned altcoins, I won't make an argument for them. Bitcoin however is literally accepted everywhere. Just because you don't use it does not mean others wouldn't. The 3rd world understands the value proposition quite easily. Fiat money will always debase and people furthest from the money printer alway realise this first. Ask a Venezuelan if they'd rather be paid in Venezuelan bolivar or Bitcoin. Either way the enumerated properties above are not contestable. That IS what money must do to be money. And if money is just what you can buy with it, explain inheritance. I mean how is it durable when the fed is bringing out its own digital currency soon. Then if bitcoin will interfere with a nations own digital currency it'll probably just get legally shutdown. Plus it has zero intrinsic value, gold will always have some value as it is a rare metal which cannot be created in the same way - these are essentially two completely different forms of scarcity, plus it serves a purpose as a material for making physical things like jewellery or electronics. Bitcoin is just a byproduct of technology. How many technological revolutions and forms of creative destruction with things in this area of business has there been in the last 50 years? Crazy amounts. Like you are genuinely perplexed to think this will exist in this form and keep rising forever, especially with AI around the corner. The shortsightedness kinda blows my mind. Just relax and breath air, watch the sunset and be grateful..
Ray is a likable character.. your neighborly billionaire ex-finance legend, a debt genius, a king of the system we live in, but he gingerly cops out on his answers imo.
I find it a time of fascination where the difference in what Bitcoin is or isn't is so wildly different.
We should talk about what it's doing and how it's going. Comparing it to a 5,000 year old asset, sovereign nation bonds or a reserve currency makes it seem silly.. minimizes what's been accomplished.

Millionaires are made in crash, so the more stocks drop, the more I buy, in the meanwhile I'm just focused on making better investments and earning more, apparently there are strategies to 3x gains in this present market cos I read of someone that pulled a profit of $350k within 2months, and it would really help if you could make a video covering these strategies.

For example the relation between money and happiness: Newer and better studies show that there is NO limit to how much happiness money gives you up to about $4B. The only problem is that you always need to at least double the amount of money you can spend per month to still increase your happiness.

Youre completely missing the point bro there are more important things in life. What kind of life is having all the money in the world but no friends or community. All the most expensive material luxury things cannot beat the beauty of nature either imo. Like the notion that having a good life requires a lot of money is a fallacy - you just need enough to do what you wish to do. And simply due to the current ecosystem of life, that is not possible for everyone to do, or maybe even anyone to do in all circumstances. Like the man is a billionaire lol and he realises the things that make him most happy are things outside of the money. Sure if you are in poverty and need money to survive having money will make your life better. But once you've reached a point of having enough to live ok there are more important things. And these things are probably the most important universally across all income brackets once survival needs are met. Like my own reason for earning money is it becomes a tool to exercise freedom - nothing else. And whilst freedom is important, there are many things just as important such as family, peace of mind, wisdom etc.

I learned a lot in this podcast. Ray Dalio is really intelligent, but he contradicts himself in some aspects. Like basing success on your financials or status, he dedicated his whole life learning to make 2 Billion dollars a year currently. I am also against the education system as it was put in place for workers to finance the top 1 percent lifestyle. Don't quite know if he's for the people or not. He does give a lot of information that I see as extremely valuable.
