    Keep up the hard work, I ordered the same press after watching your unboxing video. I look forward to learning more from you, and trying it when my press gets here.
    Thanks

    Great video brother! Question, on 9:07 you can see scorching on your hat. Any advice on how to avoid this? Lower temperature with longer time maybe? I'm having the same issues right now and it's driving me nuts! lol.

    • @RomeroThreads
      @RomeroThreads  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After so many hats, I prefer the 100% cotton dad hats, it holds heat much better. As for the hat in the video, the scorching went away and its still holding strong. But that is a wool cap so its easier to show heat marks. Good question, i'll make a video on that topic.

    Hey Romero where did you find that white foam material that you used as a buffer between the hat and press?

    • @RomeroThreads
      @RomeroThreads  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It came w/ the heat press. 3 different sizes of thickness, that was the thinner one.

    If your not making the patch yourself, you truly don’t know how good of quality they are. Is any patch marked iron on good for a heat press???Ty

      Okay! I think I found some just like it.. the options are 1/8, 1/4, or 3/8 thick, would you be able to guess how thick yours is? Haha. Sorry for all the questions!

    • @RomeroThreads
      @RomeroThreads  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It came with all 3. I mostly use the 1/4in but sometimes I will alternate on either 1/8 or 3/8.

    Hello - I was wondering if you can help me. I stitched out a bunch of patches and I’m using heat and bond to try to stick them on my hats but they keep peeling off. I don’t know what temperature or time to press them for. (I have an inexpensive press unfortunately that only heats the top.) Also my thread on the patch seems to loose it’s definition when I press the patch. It flattens out.

    • @RomeroThreads
      @RomeroThreads  ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like you might need more pressure. I don’t use Heat n Bond, I use adhesive from Twill USA, I think it sticks stronger.

    • @princessss42
      @princessss42 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for the advice. I just called Twill USA to order the adhesive. One more question if I may- I see that you use twill w/ adhesive to create this patch. Is it ok to use just 2 pieces of stabilizer to create a patch instead? At what point do you recommend the twill for a patch ?

    My hats always look good like yours do, but if I pick at the patch a week or two later it comes off pretty easy. Have tried with a variety of heat transfer adhesives, and "cooked" them too. Not sure that any adhesive patch will be as good as sewing a patch on. And scorch marks are usually an issue. I am currently coming up with a way to sew embroidered patches on with an applique method. Also plan on using the method on acrylic beanie hats, which don't handle heat very well.
