been wanting to make this video for a while but i’m finally sitting down to show all the taylor swift vinyls ive been able to collect over the last year and a half. even though i’m a bit of a late-comer to the record game, i’ve learned so much this past year about collecting and caring for vinyl records! i wanted to share with you my vinyl essentials, how to care & store your records and which record players are worth buying. there’s still so many records that i would love to have in my collection but this is where i am right now :)

pro tip: Don't throw away the original paper sleeves, just store them in the gatefold. If you ever choose to resell, not having the factory sleeves will drop the value significantly, even if your records are in good condition.

I’m so sad I wasn’t quick enough to get the lover live from paris vinyls. They’re so expensive now 💔😭. For cleaning I find it easiest to put my vinyl on the turntable and turn it on so all you have to do is gently press the cleaning tool on top while the record spins for you ☺️

Thank you so much for making this video! I got some vinyls for christmas and my birthday. I'm looking forward for growing my collection and keep listening, cause I love the sound of the vinyls! 💜
I put my plastic sleeves inside the gatefolds as normal. Then when you slip the cover into the outer plastic sleeve, I just make sure the opening of the sleeve is the same as the cover, so you can just slip the vinyl out whenever you need. That way you don't make it thicker than it needs to be and you won't have to jam it all in. That's what I've done since the 80s!
Something that I do also is when I put the record back into the outer sleeve, I turn the opening of the inner sleeve (where you pull the vinyl out) to the left or right and slide it back into the outer sleeve! That way the opening of the inner sleeve is covered and you don’t have to worry about dust touching the actual vinyl when it’s sitting on the shelf :)
being debut will be her last re-recording (PROBABLY), she would be ending it with what started it all so imagine if she called it “(taylor’s version)” instead of saying her name!😭 i will sob😭😭😭

TIP : For the vinyl with a lot of disks like Red you can get outer sleeves with more room to make sure you don't warp them and give them more space!
Ur collection is amazing! Personally i prefer to collect CD's, (because they are a lot cheaper.) Someday i want to collect all of Taylor's tho!! ❤

I love this! I got folklore and 1989 tv for Christmas and recently bought a record player of my own. Though I’m no expert myself, my dad is a big vinyl guy (been collecting since the 70’s), so I’ve learnt quite a lot from him. Something I do know though, is I don’t recommend storing them in the outer sleeve. Instead, I would put them in the inner sleeves, with the cardboard pockets (with the protector over it). Keep it up Nena! 😊

I am so impressed that you got the heart shaped Lover From Paris vinyl. I so wanted them but I can't justify $1k on those records when I've already spent WAAAAAAAAAAY too much on The Eras Tour. But, I'd rather be at the tour than just listening at home so it's a good trade off.

Record tip: Before you sleeve your vinyl records, you have to clean the dust and debris on the record. (Even if they’re factory sealed) with a cleaning record kit so you can now sleeve it inside your sleeves when it’s crisssssspy clean! Instead of sleeving it inside the sleeves all dirty and leave a lot of dust INSIDE your sleeve now!❤️

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but you can spray your vinyl, put it back on the turntable and spin it as you wipe with the velvet brush thingy. Makes it a whole lot easier!

I love your collection, Nena, super impressive. Here are my tips (I'm not an expert, but I grew up playing records). Clean your record while it's spinning on the turntable, it will be a lot easier. Also, when you put the album cover into the plastic sleeve, have the opening of the plastic sleeve on the side where the records come out instead of the top. This way you can still slide the records into the cover and they will be protected and not as bulky with the records out of the cover.
Also, my guess is that the Fearless Target vinyl is red because it's Target red color. Then she moved on to doing special color editions.
For gatefold vinyls I use only gatefold outer sleeves...this way I can always open them and appreciate the image inside without damaging them...
quick tip: when your cleaning there should be an auto stop switch on the vinyl player you can throw the vinyl on the player turn the auto stop switch off and it’ll spin making it a lot easier to spray and clean it as a whole

From my understanding, the debut vinyl was pressed in 2016, considering the rsd clear blue (from I’ve heard from the people that have them) was from 2016 too

I'm not sure but I think, when you have multiple vinyls then you should put one in the back and one in the middle (when it's a gatefold ). And with Red TV you put two in the middle and two in the back.

Last year one of my friends from church had a Jensen record player but I got her a white Audio Technica LP60XBT as a late birthday present and she uses it a lot she was so happy that I had given her a better turntable. Also last year in March my sister’s best friend had a birthday so I gave her an Audio Technica Lp60xbt along with Bruno Mars records
I just started collecting CD’s, but I’ve always wanted vinyls bc they’re all so pretty. Maybe it’s best I went for the cheaper option 😂
Just FYI they do make oversized outer sleeves for gatefolds! Definitely consider investing in them so your multi-LP sets aren't crammed into the smaller sleeves. I personally didn't have a good experience with Invest in Vinyl several years ago -- the sleeves weren't consistently sized and would split really easily. I love the Groove Vinyl Jimmy Hats but I think they've been discontinued. 😢
Also picture discs look cool, but the vinyl pieces are so thin that they sound like garbage. You should definitely try to get a regular copy of Rep as well!

The Lover from Paris was the one and only vinyl I missed out on that I still think about and wished I could’ve gotten my hands on 😢even if it didn’t come in a good sleeve. They are so expensive everywhere so this might be the one I have to give up on unfortunately
for fearless tv, put each vinyl into each slot of the vinyl so it can be easier to get out
Red TV is the only red vinyl I’ve bought at Target because it is the only one that made any sense
Hi! I appreciate you describing what they look like because I may have mentioned this to you before a while back, but I am a subscriber who is blind. As far as the self titled debut album, I’ve been with Taylor since 2006, and that album was re-issued in 2008. The 2006 version Has a different version of Teardrops On My Guitar and a different mix of Our Song. I think the only one to make the vinyl is the 2008 version of the album though. I have CDs but this video was very interesting. I have been collecting music since I was 10 and I’m in my 30s so I have a lot of CDs and I don’t think I would have room for the records that I would accumulate! Lol. I know that they did release a pink, limited edition of the self titled debut album. I saw on Amazon that they have a Teardrops On My Guitar vinyl, but it was wicked expensive. It came up when I was looking at CDs. It’s probably really hard to find but if you can get your hands on the original 2006 version of the self titled album you should. It only has 11 tracks.

Me and my family have the Audio Technica Lp60xbt model I have the one with the white front. My sister and cousin Kechette have the black one my aunt Paula has the fully white one and my dad has the lilac one

You could easily for fearless and red set two in the front and two in in the middle
