    I've had really good experience with the MK4 AR9 conversion mags, and I love how easily they hand load. MK4 all the way for me! Keep rocking the innovation CMMG, Boonies represent! 💪

    I hope in the next generation of RDB guns there is a way to include a fixed ejector AND retain a standard bolt length for tuning the action. I have a mk9 rdb and Glock fed mkgs 9mm. Both are great suppressor host and range guns. My main complaint is the short ejector life, I have to change mine out every 500 to 1000 rounds, regardless of the bolt weights, suppressor, or buffer/spring.
    I’m not the only one with this issue either. It’s pretty documented on some forums, Reddit, and Facebook groups. It’s sounds like cmmg is aware of the issue, I just hope they can find a way to incorporate it. I’d happily get new complete uppers if they had it.

  • @VincitOmniaVeritas7
    @VincitOmniaVeritas7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    From what I could see from a disassembled Dissent, there’s still a lot of parts compatibility with the Banshee.

    • @ericbergfield6451
      @ericbergfield6451 ปีที่แล้ว

      Question is, can we straight-up attach a Dissent upper onto an existing Banshee MkGs 9mm lower?

    • @VincitOmniaVeritas7
      @VincitOmniaVeritas7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ericbergfield6451 A 9mm Dissent upper SHOULD work with the Banshee lower (or any mil-spec lower), but I would email CMMG first.
      You’ll probably need to install the Dissent end plate adapter on your lower since the uppers aren’t the same height and you’ll end up with a gap into the action if you don’t. I don’t avise, but the gun would probably work without the proper end plate, but you would carry the redundant weight of a buffer system and would be unable to install a folding stock / brace.
      I would personally buy a full Dissent in 9mm even if I already had a banshee but, if you have a lower already registered as a SBR, I understand how it would be interesting to just buy a Dissent upper like you said.

    Does this new upper now work with the Stern Defense MAG-AD? I know the older radial delay blowbacks didn't.

    • @CMMG
      @CMMG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Stern MAG-AD is designed for a different bolt (straight blowback), which is more commonly used by AR9 manufacturers. Unfortunately most other options won't work without modification. Easiest just to use our conversion mags if you're running a mil-spec lower.

    I was skeptical about my choice of getting the mk4 banshee with the conversion 9mm mags. I wasn't sure if it would function well. But the gun has been a reliable tack driver and extremely easy to be accurate. Also the fact that I could get a 5.56 complete upper and a .22lr conversion bolt to swap on the gun and basically shoot 3 different calibers with the same lower and ar mags.

    Amazing gun.
    The only thing, that even when discounted, it's exactly where Sig MPX is. Without arguing which one is superior (both are great), I afraid that majority of the people, especially when buying for home defense, will go with Sig's brand name. It Dissent would cost 1200, it would completely destroy Sig MPX, and would take the Ar-9 market (and beyond) by the storm

    Make a dissent, and possibly a FM, lower specific bullpup lower that has an mlok attachment up front for the bottom of the handguard and instead of a pic rail out back, it uses a magpul pattern buttpad. Add a thin pic mounted cowl for the receiver top that smoothes it out and I'm down for atleast 1 lol. In all seriousness though cmmg is on the way to making a bullpup people would actually want. Nice stuff, keep it up. Mirrored ambi is the way.

    Question about this platform. So, is it possible to get a Dissent upper and put it on a standard AR lower with, say, a conversion block for glock mags? Or is there some requirement to keep that from being possible?

    • @CMMG
      @CMMG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many of our models work on standard AR lowers. We have conversion magazines to use 9mm in a mil-spec lower with no need for adapters.

    • @bobdole234bd
      @bobdole234bd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CMMG So, I guess what I'm trying to figure out is would it be possible to configure a dissent upper into a situation where I could still use an existing AR lower I have but also still take Glock mags? Big ask, I know. I'm just wondering if that would work or if the geometry of the upper would prevent that somehow. If I need dedicated conversion mags or a dedicated lower for reliability's sake then that's probably still OK too.

    • @CMMG
      @CMMG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bobdole234bd in theory it should. We've seen people do it and have success. Unfortunately we just don't test with all of the options made by others, so cannot confirm. The ejector would for sure have to be removed from any adapter block.

      @bobdole234bd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CMMG Thanks for the replies! I definitely understand how hard it is to say every possible combination will work without even more extensive testing. I may just stick to the MKGs lower if I go with Glock mags. My attempt was to avoid having to get a new dedicated lower or a slew of proprietary mags. You guys are innovating a really based platform and I hope you keep up the good work! Thanks again!

      As someone who owns a lot of CMMG stuff, I have never had a hardware malfunction. I have found that almost ALL malfunctions are 1 of 3 things:
      1. User error

    • @ja0298
      @ja0298 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@johngreen2510 the main complaint myself and others have had is the short life of the ejector springs on the 9mm RDB guns. I have to replace mine every 500 to 1000 rounds, otherwise I get weak ejection or failures to eject. Others have reported the same on the Facebook group, Reddit, and various forums. The two guns I have both have the same issue, regardless if I run them suppressed, unsuppressed, with or without bolt weights, or with different springs and buffers. My first gun has 6.5k on it and has a hairline fracture on the bolt where the cam pin comes through.

    Will the upper work with a pa-9 psa lower

    • @CMMG
      @CMMG  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Our 9mm systems utilize our Radial Delayed Blowback operating system which is different than most others' straight blowback. Straight blowback lowers have a built in ejector and typically different feed ramps. In most cases, we say that our upper is not compatible. There are cases that people have modified other companies' lowers with success, but that is not something we can confirm compatibility or reliability on.
