@@eyesaac8359 I think even he would have agreed with that. He managed to finally get sober before he died and you can tell since some of those last performances were really good.
Billy Pantoja Musicians are dying like fly nowadays , Lifelover was and will always be a very important part of my life good to see a fellow lifelover fan on a type o negative comment page.
Sadly, Peter didn't take care of himself in his younger days. After he sobered up, he understood & accepted the damage his body endured after years of alcohol & drug use. For someone who's 6'7", your heart has to work EXTRA hard to keep your body alive. We all miss the Green Man :(
I discovered Type O Negative for me only like a year ago... It was october rust those days... Pete had that something... magical. Great music... RIP Pete.
I met him by accident once. walked directly into him, my head bounced off of his chest. His two bodyguards were ready to kill me. He utters some words "Let the little man go"... i'm 6 feet tall.
What a masterpiece!!!! Jesus, just sit back and feel the absolute power of this compilation and musicianship; just unbelievable. True magic. Let it hit you.
It’s hard for me to revisit this band because it represents a time of heart break for me but I miss type o negative so much! So glad there are videos to watch and remember
Say what you want about him looking drunk or in bad shape (it's called aging) this was a kick ass performance of this song! As good as any ten years younger or more
I was there, I was 22 at that time, came there with 2 friends from Barcelona by car and type o negative was one of the best show. It was atwo nights of camping, then festival, then a german tour... nice memories :P
Maybe the only Band i regret not going to the concert when they played in my hometown around 2003. This performance always brings me to tears. The end of the song.... his voice..the riff...the keyboard..Just beautiful. R.I.P.
It breaks my heart for Josh when I heard that he no longer even participates in his music since losing his dearest friend Peter. I miss their music that they would have had Peter lived. Peter was on a new journey and who knows where that music would have taken him since he had become clean and sober. 😢💚
In my own way, me too. Josh is integral to what type o hits me with, the total vibe and mentality of the band. I am happy for him that he was able to move away from it, but damn. I really loved josh’s addition as much as peters. Josh did a smart thing though, he evolved away from what would not sustain his spirit
One of only a few bands I'd absolutely love to have seen live. I only got into Type O Negative after I heard that Peter died. But I guess nearly 15 years of listening to them since is better than never having discovered them at all.
Oh God, this is such an awesome song! Been a favorite of mine for many years! It takes me back in time, beautifully, to when they first hit the music scene! Rock on & peace out everyone!🤘🌹💜🌍
Mte. There’s a lot of processing that’s gone in to this. Reminds me of times their set has been efd by sound/power issues out of their control, how raw it sounded compared to this
"The song "Green Man" had two meanings for Steele; it is written about the Celtic embodiment of nature, and Steele's time with the Parks Department, when young children used to call him "The Green Man"" (source: Wikipedia) :D I think he always wore green because he loved nature and was rather nostalgic for his former job :)
Very true! Peter loved nature, especially autumn. He always said that he wished he could live in a land where autumn never ended. That's why the month of October is very special to me.
Petrus T. Ratajczyk January 4, 1962 - April 14, 2010 1 Year today.. We miss you. I will never forget you, never. Rest in peace, master.. I hope you find the peace you never found in life.
These guys always put on a hell of a show. Sometimes it felt like band practice which made it more of an intimate show. There will never be another band like Type O or vocalist like Peter.
I really like the way he is dressed up here, and I like what he does with the wine and the sign of cross. Cool. He is still so charming. And I LOVE the facial hair. Please Peter, keep it!

Wacken is always tough for me to watch because of how drunk he was. It's this show I believe he references when he said he drank four bottles of wine before the show, four during the show, and four after. Absolutely insane.
Honestly I feel like they were really hitting their stride live wise in 2007, really wish Pete didn’t pass away, they kept it real no matter what was going on in the world.

Facts.
Same here and I've been listening only to them for the last 2 months
One of those rare singers who maintained their voice for 20+ years. He was a real talent with an amazing voice
RuffisInc sounds like auto tune.
@@eyesaac8359 Allegedly he was thoroughly fucked up during this performance (drugs and alcohol), so his vocals were overdubbed.

Peter was an incredible singer
Ssnnnnnnnnneees drunk.
Yes. I think he still underrated...
Best like James in Metallica
The one, the only, the gone but NEVER forgotten Peter Steele. It sucks that we always lose the great and unique ones so young.
Matt Steiger So right. And the fucked up and criminal subjects seem to have a few lifes.
Patrick Lynn god is dead
I love when he nails those higher notes. his range is killer.
I am 63 and still listening to Type O Negative. Great band
62 here. Type O one of the best ever. Never too old for this.
Who knew three years after this show he would be dead and world would never see him sing again.
:(
Narcotic Devotion So tragic, he's always missed, and I love your user name, Lifelover was another great band

I discovered them about three years ago and damn I was broken to find out Peter was gone 😭 what a voice 💚
Peter was brilliant and his bass playing in addition to everything else was utterly unique!

alcohol and the booze, lol. you mean the hard drugs, aka Coke.
But yet still preformed without missing a beat!
