Brilliant couple of videos on 3phz. I Only ever had training on 1phz but 2391 & NVQ will be on 3phz rigs so this video and way you explain stuff super simple is a brilliant opportunity to understand the workings of 3 phz for students. Thank you very much. 👍🏼

Bit of stick there for the short courses for adult learners verses younglings on apprenticeships, now while I appreciate that workplace learning is a great advantage over pure academic there is a place for those with understanding and skills that need accreditation and bringing up to speed in current regs and paperwork.
I feel I am one such case, but now find that because of the current opinion of the IET and led by sparks like yourself I am now not considered qualified or competent despite my technical background.
This is not the place for it but I would love a chance to discuss what opportunities I have open to me

Check out the apprentice 121 podcast on here 😀. We discuss just this and the many problems retrainees face.
The stick is for the short 6-12 week courses that destroyed the trade for a time.
Legitimate routes for adult retrainees exist but it takes time. It's nothing new really, the CPSs just chose to ignore it and sadly training providers took advantage selling an unrealistic dream.
I have great sympathy for those who have taken that path and not got the result they wanted. We need to work harder as a trade to build a Legitimate and robust retrainee route that people want to use and get value from.
The 2365 alongside the NVQ and AM2 for example are nit short courses. They are hard bloody work and anyone going down that route is 100% qualified.
But if you look in the city and guilds hand book for 2365 it clearly states on its own that it meets the level of improver or mate nit qualified spark. Centres are supposed to get trainers to sign that they understand that.
Very hard to discuss over text. You are more than welcome to come chat on the apprentice 121 podcast.

I should also add for those with technical quals and experience in the industry we do have the experienced worker options. If that's more your situation over a full retraining option.

Over 16 years in the electronics industry with 4 of those teaching. I chose the 2365 because the experienced worker route could have left gaps in training as it expected a working background in electrical (from what I understood).
Only after you've signed up paid the fees and started your level 2 are you presented with a form from City and guilds saying at the end of this course you will not be qualified. Nor does it say that at the end of level 3 you still won't be. Which is where I'm now, classed as an improver. But on my last day I was asked to consider applying to teach because of how I came across helping the other students with my knowledge and understanding.
Happy to chat and share how broken the adult retraining route is on a podcast

I’ve used ElectricalOM for a couple months now, and it’s a very powerful software. Not sure why more people don’t talk about it.
My only issue with this software is the adiabatic calculation- even for a generic MCB, it uses the current limiting section of the graph, so the minimum required cpcs are quite small. I’d prefer using the 0.4s/5s/0.1s disconnection time for the adiabatic calculation.

I'm a huge fan. I would bet if you mentioned changes like this to demitri or Spencer they would sort it. Awesome software.
