Mike and Melissa I want say, “Thank You for being so Patriotic Americans”. I can see it be the displays of the Flag on your property. I served in Korea in 1966 -1967, it means a lot to me and us Veterans who returned for overseas to a very unpatriotic reception back then. It took years for us to finally getting the recognition that re never got. I wish that people like you two were around back then, it would have been different. Happy Memorial Day to the both of you.
I'm glad you decided to make the corner there yourself. A brick or block vertical retaining wall would have looked nice, but I think the boulders and whatever else will look better because you designed it. You said you're not a landscaper, but this like everything else I've seen you do is like a pro did it. You have such a great common sense attitude towards things you have done, I have, well, i should say, thousands of us have been convinced your way was just as professional as any! Heck, that's why we all are hooked on ODWTM! I already know your design will be super great! I'm anxiously waiting to see Ty and Thia together. Happy days for sure. Mike, again kudos for another professional video. You surprised me by running drain pipe all the way down to road. See, you are so professional! I'd had just let it empty right there into a graveled box. You're the man! Happy Memorial Day, God Bless America!👍🚜❤
Phil here from NE Indiana. Happy Memorial Day to everyone. My dad was in WW2 in the infantry. He carried a BAR across Europe. I think I am more proud of my dad than he was of himself. He was just doing a job and didn't want to talk about it. My hat off to all who have served. Thank you.
Happy Memorial day Mike And Melissa and to everyone else. Don't forget to fly the stars and stripes :-)) Thanks to all the veterans who served and who are serving. God bless America !
Hi Mike, from a sunny, at last, UK. The front groundwork’s are coming on at a pace and it’s looking good. I also had a large earth mound, 75 feet long x 6 feet high, to cover as it was difficult to mow and tend so I covered with heavy duty plastic and using large stones from the garden and elsewhere managed to cover all of the mound. I also infilled the front area with gravel (pea shingle) to finish it off. It did take some time as I had to man handle all the stones using muscles I did not know about but well worth the effort. I wish you well with the landscaping, it’s gonna look the business. We are all here because of the brave men and women who gave their all for a free world, bless them. We shall not forget.
Ace Hardware is somewhere between the local hardware stores we grew up with and today’s big box stores. Our neighbor owns our town’s Ace and the folks are always very friendly when you walk in and actually know you. There’s definitely something I really like about that.
Yep. I went with my flat mate to get some clothes. He is a bit simple. But nice. The rude lady. In her late 50s look like 100 was so abuse iv. Police were called. K mart Hamilton New Zealand..
We have a Ace Hardware in our retirement community. A lot of their prices are through the roof. You'd think they'd give us seniors a break, NOT! Home Depot is about 7 miles away and we schedule a shopping trip and take lists for those who need things but can't drive. HD unlike ACE also gives senior and Vet discounts.
@@papajj3 it’s kinda like the inconvenience store’s.when I was working my crew would pull in our little town store.(only one) lol. Good morning Morgans from Missouri . It’s 64 degrees, cool and calm today. Big change from yesterday. My wife served 9 years in the navy and I retired after 23 1/2 years between active and naval reserves. On this day, I salute those that paid the ultimate price and really appreciative to the veterans of WWII for the sacrifice of their youth and future. Mike, keep up the good work.
Mike, love Ace Hardware Stores because the company has been around for 100 years, and the stores are individually owned, so you get great service from people motivated to help. Pay a little more, maybe, but the convenience and great service are worth it. I did landscape design, for years, in Aspen. Think about -- when you're using ground paint -- (grab 100' of garden hose to lay out shape, first) your mowing lanes, so you don't end up with hours of string-trimming. Your boulder line isn't necessarily your mowing line: You may want a couple feet of planting bed in front of the boulders, which you can define with metal landscape edging. The metal edging comes in different depths (widths?) up to 16", and you can lay a weed-suppressing, fabric barrier from the edging back under the first/base layer of boulders. Your boulder line can be -- and wants to be -- irregular (natural looking), but your steel edging line should provide efficient mowing with your Exmark. In that front bed, you can use low profile, slow-growing, spreading evergreens (blue chip juniper, etc.) to soften the transition from lawn to wall. Also, think about irrigation, now, while stuff is torn up, rather than later, and if planting trees above the wall, you want small, slow-growing with non-aggressive roots that won't tear up/dislodge your hard work.
Mike, you and your wife have created a fun, family-friendly channel. I’ve watched off-and-on for many months, but have not remained subscribed. I have been so enthused by your humble posts over the last few weeks, I’m subbed for good. God bless you and your family. ATB as you move forward in your new lives. W, from WA.

Our Ace is about a mile from the house. It’s great when you need something in the middle of a project (which happens on every project). My wife and I are strong believers in supporting local businesses. We don’t mind paying a little more to do it 👍

We take so much for granted in this country every single day! Just hopping into our cars and trucks, driving wherever we choose, walking into whatever church we choose, and an endless supply of goods and services that are beyond anyone's reasonable needs or wants, and the list goes on and on. A lot of blood was shed so that we can take all this for granted. Please find a veteran today and thank them for their service and say a prayer for the comrades they left behind...🙏💪🇺🇸

Mike - I've used Ace hardware for many of my needs. Always go there first, before a trip to the big box place. Gotta support the local merchants. I'm anxious to see what the placement of the boulders is going to look like. Blessings to you and the family. Hi to Melissa, Hunter, Hannah, and Eva.
That is one beautiful canopy! I was waiting to see if you were going to put in a water feature there? With spillways around the edge to spread out the runoff across your lawn. If you put large Boulders and stones and grass and weed starts growing between them try Creeping Charlie it's a ground cover with little purple flowers that we used between the pieces of petrified wood. When my wife and I built a sloping retaining wall on my mother's side of a steep alley. The neighbors across the alley had a Decorative Stone retaining wall. When my mother passed away we sold the property to them they build a house on top of a double car garage but left that retaining wall in the alley.
Im a real fan of my local Ace Hardware stores. Usually a little more expensive than the box stores but the time savings (half hour compared to a hour and a half minimum) is huge.
Hey Mike, here in Nth Queensland Australia. We use a grated drain away box, but the reverse way. It'll then overflow and not rut from the flow. We have very heavy rainfall here. We're in the wet belt.
I had a plumbing issue on a Saturday afternoon that required a trip to a supply store. I live in a rural area and am about thirty miles from a big box retailer. I called the Ace store in another small community to see if they carried the part and to enquirer about their closing time. The owner said that they were closing in ten minutes but he would stay til I could arrive .he was very helpful and twenty minutes later I had my part and was on my way with my $9.00 part. They are now a destination location and not an afterthought. They will also order anything you need and it will normally come on their next shipment. Great store.
Hi guys, Rex from Charlotte... Mike I had my doubts about your moving that big Boulder but the Excavator made easy work of it! Glad you are going the natural route with the boulders. Really enjoying these videos, Mike and Melissa! I am patriotic too! You two are a great team! MOTL is outstanding!

Good morning from Upstate South Carolina. Happy Memorial day. Have a productive day.
My wife pressure washed our boulders using our STIHL RB 600 , that helped a lot, they look great now!
Every things coming up roses 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
The stone company must love you
Hi guys, Rex from Charlotte... Mike I had my doubts about your moving that big Boulder but the Excavator made easy work of it! Glad you are going the natural route with the boulders. Really enjoying these videos, Mike and Melissa! I am patriotic too! You two are a great team! MOTL is outstanding!
I don't know about the good old U S of A but down here in Oz, the snakes love rocks and boulders.
Hope everyone had a good memorial day!
Ace and true value so much nicer than home cheapo or blowes lol
Love our Ace Hardware in Pewaukee, WI!
As always love your videos.
.....and rr ties and flag stone🤠. Make any mess into an architectural masterpiece. Our Ace opened 5 years ago. It immediately became the hub of the community and my favorite store.... period. Looking gods as usual. Go Morgans
It’s going to look nice when you get done
Awesome hoodie Mike. Looks like everything is shaping up.
A garden hose works good to lay out the edge of your hill. Offers a good visual and can be adjusted.
Good idea
Just love your channel guys 😎
