Finally a channel dedicated to RTR200. I got the bike last week (Fi model). Wanted ABS but TVS Always underpins Indian customers. It's been 2 years but still they haven't offered ABS Even as an Optional.

I recently had this problem on my TVS NTORQ 125 BS4.
The roads in Bengaluru are quite bad and broken. So, the vehicles get very hard and sharp hits because of the broken hard road surface. I do not purposely abuse the scooter, but unfortunate road conditions here are the cause. The vehicle is pristine and I haven't had any crash or accidents (touch wood).
I think treating these incidents like 'Punctured tyres' as you said, is a good way to think about it, but it's a very expensive puncture to be honest!
My vehicle is just driven for 2500km in last 1 and half years.
I have given it to Authorized Service Centre and I've told them to replace the oil in both the front forks and inspect the oil seal in the good one, so that there's no unbalance after repair.
Hopefully they do a satisfactory job.

Hi Sumit, If you read the comment section a few other riders have faced this but it can happen to any motorcycle with hydraulic telescopic suspension.

Even I own a apache rtr 200. During lockdown my bike was parked in a covered parking. Today morning I noticed oil leaking from one of the front forks. What should I do?

It’s been almost a month since I last rode on my bike. Not sure how the oil started leaking in a parked bike. Any suggestions? How much will it cost to get it repaired at a TVS service centre ?
Hi Ketan,
There are quite a few factors that can effect the fork oil seal, a few of which are mentioned in the video. You have to get it replaced, as I did the job at home I can tell the spares will cost you somewhere in between 500-600 for a single fork (including fork oil from TVS). Labour charges will be additional for the job.

Hii brother @thesportztourer my bike is Apache 200 4V bs6 adjustable front suspension it was ruined by showroom people I'm going for coneset issue but they they didn't inform me and opened front forks and they changed the oil and it's very hard in my riding time and i go to showroom they check my bike and need to change the fork oil and i side ok after they changed the oil and it's time they fill 330 ml in each fork but suspension is very hard now

Hey there i own an RTR 200 And i see some lines of oil in my front fork sometimes( at 500 kms )and when i corner in my bike above 80 kmph my bikes handle bar jerks a bit ... should i be worried?
Is it only sometimes? You need to check your axle bolt, I think it is over tighten.

1. I have tried Century TVS & Rushabh TVS service, was satisfied with both the service center.
2. Better connect one terminal to the positive electrode of the battery & other one to the negative. If the connection of the charger is made from ignition then you can ground the black wire. More over if any problem had to occur it would have happened by now as electrical failures are quick, unless there is a battery drain.

Hi. I am facing an issue with the steering on my 200. Its been quite a few days like this now. I feel like the front is out of alignment. But, when they checked it at the service centre, they told there is no problem. I feel like the handle is closer to my right hand than left. I am ending up holding the left handlebar on the bar end weight rather than on the actual hand grip.
What could the issue be? These service centre people are saying there is no problem but i feel like it is out of alignment when riding.
1) The bike has not fallen anywhere. No accident or anything like that.
2) If i take my hands off the handlebar, the bike still goes almost straight. But i will not be having straight balance. I will feel like i am sitting improperly on the bike
3) Suspension is fine. No problems.
Could it be conset issue?
Or could it be because of tyre wear? I have 14k and its still on stock remora tyres. Could the tyre wear cause it?

Hi Ajay,
Could be the coneset. The handle bar are non adjustable and you said it's not bend. When on main stand you can lift the front wheel and check for alignment. Also check for conset movement.

Hey, I recently meat with an accident and my front forks are bent to be honest I don't trust TVS service people I have had bad experiences and I'm taking my RTR 200 to local mechanic whom I know and trust and according to my knowledge we don't get KYB fork parts or its not available so where did you get the oil seals and do you think motul 20w fork oil would work for the 200?

Fork oil has more to do with the damping than lubrication. 20W oil would work or you can stick to TVS branded fork oil (not the KYB G10) as my experience with TVS fork oil has been good 😊

My RTR 180 enjoyed Shell Advance ultra 10w40 fully synthetic oil on highways.
Motul 7100 10w40 bhi acha perform karta hai 180 mein.
Agar apka use normal hai toh TVS Tru4 10w30 fully synthetic oil acha hai.

Mine gave out at mere 3000 kms and clutch was replaced under warranty at mere 1100kms. Tvs needs to address quality issues.
Hey can you tell me which motul engine oil grade I should use in my Apache rtr 180.company claims 10w30 as it's oil but I saw pulsar 180 recommend 20w40/50.why this difference so..both bikes are 180cc engine but recommend different grade oils...Just clear my this doubt
You can go for Motul 5100 10w30.
Your second question can't be answered in short but I will still try as a lot of factors are taken in consideration. One of the main factors is tolerance, if your engine has tighter tolerances then it can become difficult for heavy engine oils to reach tighter spots. Other than that the engine design & type of engine also matters as the RPM & thermodynamics of the engine are dependant on it. So as you can see 160, 180 or 200cc the engine oil grade is independent of the engine capacity.
The Sportztourer I have already buy motul 3100 20w50 for my rtr 180..Its won't affect my engine??Next time I will go through your advice😊and also I asked in the tvs specialist garage they said me to use 20w40 engine oil..I am just getting confused in-between services center and tvs specialist mechanics

The grade for TVS fork oil is not mentioned. Difference is not noticeable but I would prefer KYB G10 fork oil.

Tried to source it from 2-3 service center in Pune & Mumbai but it was not available. They themselves use TVS fork oil so I had no option, No problems faced after using this fork oil.

Done around 700-800km. No the KYB oil is not available.

I have an RTR 200 and 160, I am planning to change the fork oil. RTR200 is not giving a good function of its front forks, and the mechanic from the TVS SVC told me to use a good quality fork oil.
So I found MOTUL Fork oil 20W, I don't know which grade to be used and also suggest me a good fork oil for the Both RTRs.

The damping seems to be similar. I went to two service centers to search the KYB G10 oil but both of them suggested the TVS fork oil & they themselves were using the same so I had no option.
For now the experience is similar.

Is this like a very common issue?....Got new RTR 200 last month and completed 1.5k so far on the ODO. No issues faced except some noise that comes from chain (i guess) when riding a pillion. Fuel economy has been awesome as 42kmpl in city and 44kmpl on highway (i don't abuse my bike) here in Pune.

Not a common issue as MotoTune commented this can happen on any bike with hydraulic telescopic suspension system. These leaks are like puncture can happen to any bike at any odo.

+aditya gharmalkar you need to adjust the chain slack. Please clean, lubricate your chain & ride for some distance before adjusting the slack.
P.S: A video on how to adjust the chain slack will come soon on the channel.

Hey the rubber dust seal of my bike have a spring ring on it and looks different. I guess tvs have solved the issue by updating the seal.
