sequels are the bane of my existence, especially when it messes up the lessons taught in the original film. ralph breaks the internet has to be the WORST it was just so unbelievably bad. my favourite is probably monsters university, though it was set in the past so i personally don't think it counts the same as sequels that pick up after the first movie and continue from there. monsters inc has a disney+ series that expands on the universe after the change in power manufacturing, going from scream energy to laugh energy, but it follows a different protagonist and a new cast of characters, i don't think it's really that bad, though. i loved this video btw! super concise, yet informative, which is hard to come by on yt nowadays. i was surprised to learn that the rescuers 2 was disney's first sequel, i would've guessed cinderella lol.
You literally forgot to mention that there is an Open Season tv series from Canada called “Open Season: Call of Nature” that just started airing right now and it’s completed its first season way up until this point on and also the animation guild needs to go on strike for less sequels, no mass appeal like Toy Story 5, ice age 6, less sequels, less live action remakes, no rebooting our classic franchises like Thomas all engines go and the backyardigans reboot revival, Barney’s world, be cancelled for massive backlash making them stupidly babyfied, etc and more original content based on personal stories from directors lives and stop TH-cam kids TH-cam needs to take animation seriously and deviantart also has to be stopped for also using dreamup as ai art which is not art And also bring back Madagascar 4, cloudy with a chance of meatballs 3 planet of the grapes which hadnt been made for those future installments made end trolls, boss baby, hotel Transylvania, ice age, open season, and also fire David Zaslav for tax writing off coyote vs acme, scoob holiday haunt and idk if batgirl from the DCEU counts because now DCEU is over, now that Velma is cancelled, WBD needs to end the merger and have Zaslav step down as CEO, ASAP

Studio Ghibli never did sequels! All their movies are original and beautiful. Spirited away, Totoro, Porco rosso, Nausica and the valley of the wind etc. None of them have sequels! Studio Laika too never made them. Your right about the other compagnies though 🙂

and the studios prefere more focused and their franchise that the original because the sequels or spin off makes more money that the original
