i am on year 3 with my light phone 2 and have the light 3 on preorder after 3 years im not going back to a smartphone, just keep going one day at a time and before you know it years past and you dont miss the smartphone. I grew up in the era with out phones and didnt get my first phone till i was 21, if i need to do something online thats what my laptop is for when i can sit down and focus on that task, then when out and about im focused on that its all about focus.
My iphone 3gs died in 2011, after 3 years of use the screen suddenly got really dim. Got myself a dumb phone since at that time i was living in okinawa and wanted to use less tech, plus directions and the camera werent that good on a iphone, And the japanese flipphones were loaded with features like being waterproof and having a bunch of effects on the camera, and it was brand new for free. After one or two years I got the iphone 5 and never went back to a dumb phone again because its so handy to have one with me all the time, for maps, google and now im a father and theres always a quick moment where you need a camera right there to snap a picture or shoot a video of your little one that grows so fast. I tried android and cheap phones too but they were too slow, the camera too bad and the built quality was kinda disappointing. Last year got my iphone 13pro with 1TB, hoping it will last at least 5 years and the joy of taking pictures with it its unmatched. I think that everybody has a “moment” in life and capitalism is here to provide the product most suitable for you in that moment. Ive done experimenting, I tried not to, but I became an apple fan boy kkkkkk If only samsung hadnt disappointed me with my beloved note9, I would had caved in to the korean ecosystem.
I wanted one but couldn’t justify buying a second phone. I just set up a Focus Mode since I already have an iPhone. Turn on gray color filter automatically. It helped. I can still get and send photos plus use my phone for work stuff and maps and music etc cause that stuff is non-negotiable.
Great video man. I'm starting to believe my phone takes away more than it provides. It pains me to think that on my current trajectory I will spend years of my life on my phone :/ maybe a dumb phone is the way forward
What would be the problem with a podcast? In my case I exclusively listen to information podcasts. Plus trust me, you are not scrolling on this device, which is the worst thing about smartphones in my opinion.
I think the bad part about podcasts is listening to sponsorships. Part of why I want this phone is to get away from ads as much as possible. But the good thing is you can just uninstall the podcasts tool if you don’t want it
11 hours on youtube this week 😅 I hope some of them were at the same time i was gaming so it was 1 stone, 2 wasted time, still doesnt sound good but at least its not 2 stones. Does anyone in this comment section know how to hide the recommended page on browser youtube on iphone?
the light phone has bluetooth i use airopods with mine im on year 3 with my light phone but it also has a 3.5 mm jack if you want wired headphones instead

Phones are addicting but they are also wildly useful. Many restaurants don’t even have a menu you can see without a phone….
