You should do a video on the "Rampage" Bronco that was used. That too, while cool to look at, was not a street runner. In fact, it was not street legal. And after filming, was retired in some warehouse. The only reason the concept SUV was used in the movie was because DJ wanted to drive a Ford and not a Jeep product. (why they did not use a Ford truck is beyond me)
Man I can not remember years ago I saw one of the Coyote X not sure I thought it was Universal Studios had one of the cars many many years ago on the tour saw it.
I watch a lot of these car videos about movie and T.V. cars. I think this is one of the few channels that has included this car. I was like 6 or 7 yrs old when this show was on. Jackson TN is actually close to me. Thank you for that info. I will make a trip to go see the car in person.
The season one vehicle is a beautiful car. To keep the proportions on the VW chassis, the passenger compartment is very small. In relation to this, the second version is quite clunky and almost ugly. Also looks cobbled together. Thanks for this interesting informative video.
What's crazy i grew up watching shows like this i remember the instructions said how it was a sportirized vw they said it had a twin carburetors and it was a Chevy 350 but it's still a kick ass car
My friends and I loved watching shows with cars as a main character just to see when parts flew off of them or the frame tacoed during jump scenes. Fall Guy was a good one for the latter, I don't know how many trucks they went through but it wasn't a good endorsement for GM's full size trucks in general. I can see you did an episode about that one, it's next on my list LOL
That's funny about the taco reference since Toyotas frames rust and break in half, that's why Tacomas are called tacos because they can fold like a taco. Good stuff
I like this episode so much because I had a real appreciation of the show when I was a kid so I had to watch it again and it was just as good even better! On a sidenote, who likes the first coyote the best
Fun fact: the music composer for Hardcastle & McCormick would go on to compose Law & Order's music, including the famous opening theme. He still does the music for those shows today.
Hey, you've got over 10,000 subscribers now 👍👍👍. Good for you, you certainly deserve it. I'm only subscribed to six channels and yours is not only one of them it's the only one that deals with cars.
I go with the first seasons car. My favorite car of all times in reality is the Lotus Elise MK1. I like the philosophy behind this types of cars. Light, good feeling for the underground and fast. And a VW engine for the coyote must not be bad. Karman Ghias were also produced with a VW engine build under license. All together fabulous cars, which will always have a place in my heart.
Man,I am seriously disappointed that the Mccormick's Coyote X had such a weak engine.🤣 Grandma and I used to love watching this show. Grandma had a crush on Judge Hardcastle. 😆 She had a crush on Richard Simmons too. She bought his book and went to meet him at a book signing event. He signed her book.
The stunt car that was in Jay Ohrberg's Museum (which he and his cars are no longer a part of), went from the museum to Riverside, CA where it was on display at Don's Lock & Key until it sold to a buyer overseas several years ago. I put my daughter in that car in her car seat when she was 3 days old.

(why they did not use a Ford truck is beyond me)
I'll add that one to the list look into. Thanks
If you don't recall: Duane J had a series of Ford ads, Ford pick-up promotions; 4-5 yr.
I loved this car as a kid.
The Coyote X was my favorite 80's car when I was growing up.
😉👍
😉👍
Man I can not remember years ago I saw one of the Coyote X not sure I thought it was Universal Studios had one of the cars many many years ago on the tour saw it.
I watch a lot of these car videos about movie and T.V. cars. I think this is one of the few channels that has included this car. I was like 6 or 7 yrs old when this show was on. Jackson TN is actually close to me. Thank you for that info. I will make a trip to go see the car in person.
Cool, glad you enjoyed it and awesome 👍
This show had best theme song ever.
What a great channel and content just earned a subscriber look forward to watching more of your videos...Well done!
Thanks much and welcome! Glad you are enjoying it👍
The season one vehicle is a beautiful car. To keep the proportions on the VW chassis, the passenger compartment is very small. In relation to this, the second version is quite clunky and almost ugly. Also looks cobbled together. Thanks for this interesting informative video.
The original Coyete was / is one of my most favorite TV cars of ALL TIME!!! I would LOVE to own one with some fast re-power.
😉👍
First season cars in my book the coolest of them !
Lol, indeed. So many vehicles, so much bent metal! 😁
I recall an interview on TH-cam about the Fallguys stunt truck It was 2wd and mid-engine. th-cam.com/video/VTcQOJMJVss/w-d-xo.html
That's funny about the taco reference since Toyotas frames rust and break in half, that's why Tacomas are called tacos because they can fold like a taco. Good stuff
Found you through searching for the History. I have a model kit I'm about to build of it. Great video! Subd.
Very cool, I used to build models all the time back in the day too.
Glad you found and are enjoying the channel👍
Out of all the cool 70s/80s TV show vehicles. The one that gets the least love is Tony Danzas 1971 Chevy van from Who's the Boss 😅
True enough, but I do have that one on my list to look into 😉
Another fun fact.....if you watch the open credits to Married With Children, you see Clark Griswalds station Wagon entering the freeway.
Indeed and that's one I talk actually about in my Family Truckster video too 😉...

I wanna hear more about McCormick's prison nickname "Skid mark" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That name didn't age well, did it.😂
Mark ‘Skid’ McCormick.
He raced cars hence skidmark
@@Rubiflake
It aged better than Lucky Pierre, especially for being in prison.
At least one comment here doesn't get the humour.
I like this episode so much because I had a real appreciation of the show when I was a kid so I had to watch it again and it was just as good even better! On a sidenote, who likes the first coyote the best
Indeed a great show and yes, everyone on here has agreed that the season one car ranks supreme for sure 😉👍
Reminds me of the Bradly Gt. If these kitcars are built right they can be good.
I always thought it was a Bradley. My friend built one
Fun fact: the music composer for Hardcastle & McCormick would go on to compose Law & Order's music, including the famous opening theme. He still does the music for those shows today.
Mike Post also did the themes from Rockford Files, Magnum, P.I., and Hill Street Blues. Some of the most memorable TV themes ever!
Hey, you've got over 10,000 subscribers now 👍👍👍.
Good for you, you certainly deserve it.
I'm only subscribed to six channels and yours is not only one of them it's the only one that deals with cars.
Thanks, that means a lot friend!🙂👍
I really need to keep an eye out for all the jumps that are obviously everywhere that I just haven't been noticing
😉
One thing that always sticks in my mind was a stunt jump that features in the intro to the series where the rear axle breaks.
Yeah, the rear end landing at an angle like that from clipping the other car certainly noticeably dislodged the axle mounting for sure!
Nice video!
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it.
Legendar car concept
I go with the first seasons car. My favorite car of all times in reality is the Lotus Elise MK1. I like the philosophy behind this types of cars. Light, good feeling for the underground and fast.
And a VW engine for the coyote must not be bad. Karman Ghias were also produced with a VW engine build under license.
All together fabulous cars, which will always have a place in my heart.
Indeed 😉👍
Th first version is by far the better looking of the two
"Hey Lester", "Where's My Hardcastle & McCormick Car At?!?"...
😂
Man,I am seriously disappointed that the Mccormick's Coyote X had such a weak engine.🤣 Grandma and I used to love watching this show. Grandma had a crush on Judge Hardcastle. 😆 She had a crush on Richard Simmons too. She bought his book and went to meet him at a book signing event. He signed her book.
I bet your grandma probably remembered him from the “Family Affair” show?
The stunt car that was in Jay Ohrberg's Museum (which he and his cars are no longer a part of), went from the museum to Riverside, CA where it was on display at Don's Lock & Key until it sold to a buyer overseas several years ago. I put my daughter in that car in her car seat when she was 3 days old.
The first year Coyote X looked so much better than the Delorean based car!
Indeed 👍
Now I'm glad I never saw anything but the first season. That version was so much better looking.
Indeed, you guys are the luck ones 😉
Funny... That door didn't even shut right @2:00 🤣
