I was very fortunate to have taken Paul’s Conceptual Physics class at SF City College in 1981. I then got to work with him a decade later at the Exploratorium where I ran the theater that Paul taught physics in during Free Wednesday night. He really is a master of his craft, we’re all better off for his earnest generosity and unrelenting curiosity. I’m very glad documentation of his classes made it to TH-cam.
That's awesome. Some years ago my 9th grade students of Conceptual Physics (taught with Hewitt's materials) arranged for him to call me on my birthday in the middle of class. It was a complete surprise and I was so honored! Hewitt is my role model for being a more dynamic, engaging, exciting teacher (I now teach traditional high school physics and various math courses).
I am not pro to using Newton’s Cradle to illustrate the light photons propagation through glass. Unlike electrons that really collide when electric current travel in the conductor, light photons do not collide but work in a series of energy interchange with atoms or free electrons. Simplifying this to a collision like example risks the student’s first-glance conception . It is possible to employ it though if you are going to elaborate by clarifying the initial concept.

This is not conceptual physics. This is PEDAGOGY 101 by an excellent teacher.
Wow! That tip to explain these equations as ratios is golden. Yes, they are much more conceptual and intuitive!!
Conceptual Physicist Paul Hewitt one of the greatest Physicists at all time..
Hardly. But he is certainly one of the greatest teachers of elementary physics.
I friken love this guy! Makes my homework easy because he’s actually interesting!
She will be there
Nice explanation

Amezing
20 minutes ? it felt like 5! so interesting
Yes
WHY isn't he on TED TALK!!
Probably because he's over 90 years old and retired.
Where can you get his video package? The Ebay link does not have the videos.
the links you entered are ended, where can i buy this?
This is a conceptual teaching of Physics, and it is brilliant. I am doing the same. However, this is not a workshop. Teachers are not engaged.
You think this twenty minutes is the entire workshop?
@Richard Gray I don't think anything. I comment on what I see.
@@draganradosavljevic8982 I see a claim that this is a workshop. Hewitt is a liar?
I really cannot answer that. Can you?
@@draganradosavljevic8982 But, you did answer it: Quote: "...this is not a workshop."
What will I do to have the resources he made?
