    If the audio representation is of this actual bass, I think it’s one of the best sounding basses I’ve ever heard. Almost sounds “acoustic”. So much resonance. I love it!

    I am not so much a fan of Warwick or "fancy wood choices", but my god, this is jaw-droppingly beautiful instrument. And this comes from a Spector fanboy ^^

    Would like to have the fret work. Also wondering about the type of shielding paint being used that is safe without mask. Really nice way for Warwick Framus to connect with musicians and techs/builders. 😎

    Apparently Raffir just implies that they took wood or ivory and infused or injected it with resin (so it's plastic wood now). Don't get me wrong though, it's still beautiful, I just wonder how it changes the tone of the wood, structurally, I'm sure it's extremely durable.

    • @Khazandar
      @Khazandar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The top is only 2.5 cm. It's tonal impact is gonna be negligible.

    • @hellsSG

      Same with woods like buckeye burl. They need to make it stable with epoxy or something like that

      Vibhas Patil Raffir seems to be a company that sells stabillized wood (wood injected with resin).

  • @LNVACVAC

    The top is not Raffir Wood, but a Raffir composite called Raffir Alume.

    The Warwick string trees look really bizarre. Is there any reason for them to be so bent before they go into the nut at such an angle? And why must the strings be so close together the B to the E and the G to the D look like they're almost touching. I can't imagine that it does anything for the sound of the bass.
    Also it killed me in that they glossed over the back of the beautiful neck.
    Otherwise awesome.

    • @jdl2180
      @jdl2180 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, they sound like crap!

    • @Cabeza492
      @Cabeza492 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to read you comment at least 3 times until I understand what you mean with "string trees"... because the headstock doesn't have any string tree at all! What you mean is just the shape of the headstock and the distribution of the tunning machines.
      Check this out:
      kytary.co.uk/cort-action-v-plus-bm/HN165625/
      www.talkbass.com/threads/the-ibanez-club-part-3.563271/page-8
      See? The angle of the string from the tunning machine to the nut depends of the shape of the headstock, some go straight and others go in angle. But that's right, it does nothing to the quality of the sound, because the pickups only catch the vibration of the string from the bridge to the nut.

    What kind of wood was used on this top?

    • @FramusWarwickOfficial
      @FramusWarwickOfficial  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @José Silva - No wood at all. This top is a composite material with aluminium meshes encapsulated in a translucent epoxy resin. The material has unique three-dimensional textures with contrasts between satin light grey aluminium and deep coloured semi-transparent resin. The material was provides by a company called Raffir and they call this material Raffir Alume.

    Seems like Warwick started to use another glue instead of titebond?

    • @TheHeathwright
      @TheHeathwright 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I believe its because of the resin nature of the top, they are probably using a epoxy resin, not sure titebond would work on that kind of material.
