Shuriken weren't used by Samurai (unless you count being hit by one as using it) Samurai used the Yumi bow (kinda like a recurve bow) for range, Shuriken were pretty much exclusively used by Ninjas as they technically weren't allowed to own weapons because Samurai were the upper class and being dicks about it.
I love shuriken and katana I got shuriken with 170 points and it's not a weak weapon everyone know s shuriken is just for those who know how to use it wisely

URUMI is not used for a single attacker..but for more than two or group attackers. One swap with it..a single oppoents dies cause it can produce mutiple injuries at a stroke.

Fun fact ninjas used shuriken mostly as a way to immobilize or distract their opponents, throwing them to pin down pieces of clothing or to make their opponent dodge them, sometimes allowing the ninja to find an opening to use other weapons they carried. It was mostly the Kunai (throwing daggers) however that we're used to inflict lethal wounds and were more often used since they could be easily concealed within a boot, pant leg or sleeve
Kunai weren't actually throwing daggers, though; at least according to Gaijin Goombah's "Which Ninja." Not really that aerodynamic. They were actually used more for digging than combat in general. Your point on the shuriken is correct, though; no pun intended, lol. A shuriken would really only actually be able to kill if it was thrown at an unarmored head, neck, or chest, which on most targets would not be that likely, of course. Ninjas in general were hardly "assassins" anyway, though. They could be, but they were more spies stealing information than anything.
