Just looking at the building she made compared to the normal building projects and you can see the massive difference. Everyone in China knows that SOHO builds the worst buildings. It's typical "looks good from far, but far from good". The buildings are functionally handicapped with some 30 story office buildings sharing just two elevators (all this is against Chinese building codes). The shoddy construction and materials are visible everywhere. You CANNOT find your way out of a parking garage in any of their structures!! Of course they know it because they don't own any of the buildings they've built. Typically, they flip the buildings as soon or even before it's completed by selling individual spaces to small investors who have no power to pursue them.
She is such an inspiration to me! But her most profound statement comes at 11:43: she is against socialism and craves for the democracy that America has. It's funny how there is a segment of American youth that is looking to socialism, but they do not really understand the cost that would entail. #No2Socialism
Common misconception from Americans that socialism resembles/equals communist drama... The American youth want what European countries have, like Sweden and the Netherlands. Glancing thru the comments from this video, most if not all has absolutely no clue of how it works in communist country. My best analogy would be she is the equivalence of Putin of Russia; only difference is that Putin does not disguise himself as a normal citizen, but rather a raising rank in the communist party. One way to understand the reality of her success is to ask yourself if the communist party would allow any body who is not (or associated with) a party member to become extremely wealthy? Remember her success begun a while back, when China is still heavily controlled by old communist ruling. Also, one needs to understand acquiring the development rights of properties in prime cities required more than talents, dedication, or luck. If lucks continued to happen, then other influential forces are obvious... One way to find out is tracking her husband connections. I also understand that lands are owned by the government, and can be leased at a very cheap rate, and ONLY through a very strong connections. Fruits for thoughts...

mandy li i'm chinese and can explain the meaning and it is just that chinese people can have everything material that american have: amazing buldings, cars, jewelry, phoned... and even more and better than americans but the only thing that really separate china from the usa is the way of living: without any pressure, stress and can do whatever they want without the worry that it can take them into jail, chinese people are just tired of living everyday afraid of the goverment and can't say or do whatever they want. so to sum up is that the only thing that is least to live as americans is freedom

It's so typical for people to bring down a successful person. Jealous that you don't have the connects nor ambition to do what she did? No one ever does it alone.
