  • Less than a year after Governor Polis and state lawmakers celebrated "full funding" for K-12 education, they're looking to cut that funding. It comes as the state faces the tightest budget outside of COVID-19 since the Great Depression.

Little cut this year, a little cut next year, and all of a sudden people complain that schools can't teach and are unsafe. And like magic, private schools look great.

It's dropped by a lot. 2021 was the apex at $423,486,053. The MJ boom appears to be over or, at a much lower plateau now. 2024 was at $255,364,952

Grok gives 110,000 students of illegal parents in Colorado. CO spends 16,000 per student.
Removing these students would save 1.76 billion a year just from the education budget. That would entirely solve the budget crisis.
