Navigating the spheres under the boss while not clipping yourself into another orb or dragging yours in such a way to cause other players to run into yours is a big reason why that mechanic became notorious.
I didn’t think about this… but Hildibrand quests replaced the need for doing 500 fates and 50 dungeons for a relic. Those who’ve done them previously were rewarded.
thats what Ive been saying to my guild mates. They were complaining about the relics being just farming tomestones and thats it. And I went like: "Dude, I wanted to get my relic, but then I was told I need to do ALL THOSE HILDIBRAND QUESTS!!!!! Like WTF." So, if you skipped hildi, because you are not into comedy, like me. Then... It was like 2 weeks of watching cutscenes and waiting for gilgamesh fights to pop up, AND THEN there was the Tomestone farming after that. Of course there is no Infinite fate and dungeon farming like in the past, the farming IS hildibrand.
Okay, but consider the following: What happens if I skip the cutscenes? To make that correlation, you would have to equate the amount of time invested into doing the quests (which can vary immensely) to having to respect RNG and game mechanics in order to obtain the steps you needed for previous relics. I can answer the question, as myself and many others have done it on alts: It takes just a few hours to get through everything with Manderville. On the contrary, you might have to farm FATEs, farm instances like DR normal (Have fun waiting in queue for an unavoidable 50 collective minutes if you can't make a full group of 24!), do old alliance raids, or the instanced group area. Simply put, the relic choices this expansion have been horrific. Hildibrand does not lead to consistent group content with player retention of any kind. It is solo content you watch a cutscene for, or you skip everything and have a complete relic and spend more time spamming the most recent dungeon for enough tomestones to get what you want. This is just casual to a negligent fault. It will not hold players, and it will not allow for players to come together in the future in any way.
@@SlipknotForevah I don’t ever remember relics ever being something that held the community on. I’ve been on since 1.0. As Xeems has pointed out, the player base has a short memory span. No one appreciated Eureka when it originally came out, and it wasn’t until it was nerfed and we had an influx of players at that time that people loved. It helped Southern Front also gain traction, but then dropped off as people came to groan about it. I’m sure time will be kind to that as well. Locking dye behind the savage for the armor was not well received. Beyond that ARR and HW were basically fates and old content. The latter has been resolved with the moogle event. What I can tell you, is many players who’ve played the since 1.0 appreciate and love the Manderville quests. In many ways we were the ones cheated out of a grind, but it’s also a welcomed change given the exhaustive hours it used to take to get one relic. If you skip cutscenes, then you just do roulettes daily and get your weapons. Still opens people to play the game. I also go all of my upgrades from doing moogle event, PvP, savage raiding, deep dungeon and Ex. So in other words I did it passively as I helped other players and my static progress. The unhealthy problem I see with relics is the unhealthy approach people had done by playing for 12 hours a day to finish quickly. This at least brought balance to my life and I appreciate the reprieve.
It's not like people hated Eureka. People hated Pagos, like ... a lot. Eureka, Pyros & Hydatos were fine. BA was highly praised and people still run it to this day. Same with Bozja. That's why people missed it in 6.x. When you don't think about Pagos, the Field Operations were keeping players busy because a lot liked it. So yeah, I'd say Xeems is in the wrong here for portraing that people hated Eureka, maybe from what he saw in NA. On EU it was a different story.
no its still bad and even though it got better in pyros and on if you were behind the curve like i was it was next to impossible to get anything done till it was nerfed and even still its a slog to get through, BA might be fun but I'm was so burnt out from Pagos I didn't even want to finish Hydatos when I finally got there
I can guarantee you, Bozja is an amazing piece of content, but it takes a while to understand how i all works with spawning bosses, getting the right clusters for the lost abilities and duels, Eureka is just stupid.@@Aventurine4lyfe
I disagree with the Hildabrand take, as a new player I recently decided to do the quests and it’s completely manageable. It’s worth for a BIS weapon item where you have to grind just as much to get it if you were doing savage.
Hildibrand is side content, it should just be that and not have something major like a relic behind it. This expansion relic is a joke, there is not that much needed for it. It ought to be more prolonged and involved to get it. Endwalker has had so much dead time because of the lack of needing to play to get it. Hildibrand also takes sooo much resources as yoshi p has said in the past. I would much rather sacrifice hildibrand for better content.
I agree with you that it's less effort overall than past relics but nevertheless is is just stupid to make manderville anything other than optional content. It's not for everyone. They shouldn't try to make it a thing. It would be like if for the next relics you have to go ocean fishing. Like just leave us alone if we don't want to do certain things.
The nice thing about hildebrand is that because of how each story begins and ends, SE could make the expacs detached from one and another, and there wouldnt be any real continuity issues, that way people who want the relic weapons for EW can just do the EW manderville quests
I mean... So you're asking for Endwalker's Relic to be EVEN EASIER? I say let how long the Manderville Questline is be at least a modicum of effort you have to put into those Relics. Because it will literally just be 6000 Poetics when DT hits.
A better solution would be to separate godbert's personal quest from the hildibrand quest entirely, with added dialogue and so on if you did the prior hildibrand quest
@@LucasBernardesRosa I'm not asking for EW relic to be easier, I'm saying that it would be a realistic change for the most part for the devs to implement into the game considering that the length and tediousness of it is the problem people have with the quests, that and the lack of an actual grind.
But you know what it won’t have? More glamour plates and hats for Viera. I just don’t care about this crap anymore. The dungeons are going to be tired in a week. The raids played out in 4 weeks. I now only really care about my own toon and playing my own game within the game. I have no idea why more glamour plates and proper character customization weren’t more of a priority. This will be the first expac launch I won’t be playing since Stormblood. Playing for story and some wall to wall dungeons just don’t do it for me this time
I hope new Field Ops will give exp. Eureka would be awesome if it could lvl alts. I liked Eureka elements system better than Bozja's potions/skills but i despised that it felt like bonus bonus content since it did not give exp. If Eureka gave exp I'd feel far better doing it before lvling all the jobs first.
@@KooriGraywolf Yeah cuz the second you realize it doesn't give exp you want to leave it as last activity to do when there is nothing else to do. Games are made for fun and nothing matters in them but when you feel like you're wasting time then you do waste it, lack of exp creates a snowball that starts rolling and you'll leave Eureka for later but later never comes as you'll forget it exists and only remember that you felt like wasted time not really giving the activity place to flourish, to even attempt enjoying it in the first place. For Bozja you see that you get exp so you don't feel like it's a bonus bonus activity but core one so you give it enough time and commitment to start enjoying it. Exp might seem like such a minor thing to have but it's so important to how you perceive the activity.
It would help quite a bit with giving people more reason do it, eventually it could morph into a relic grind for them if they end up liking it or make enough progress to where making a relic becomes much easier.
Many people didn't like Eureka, but Bozja was well received by the players afaik. I don't think we didnt get field operation in endwalker because people complained about that kind of content but because the devs didn't have time for it. But all we can do is guess tbh
Bozja is so good man. Its generally harder than normal, but also can even be extreme level of difficulty if you want (soloing boss and higher tier of raid difficulty)
They literally said why we didnt get a field operation. They wanted to move the resources from what would typically be Bozja, to content in Dawntrail instead. They know it was better received. They needed more resources for it, so we had hildibrand quests replace relic weapon this one time.
I remember the outcry for Eureka, "no one" liked it and everyone said it will be Diadem 3.0. It went so far that after the BA hype was over, Eureka was really dead for a few month, at least on Light. Then a community started to build up around it and it is now one of the most active content. You can no enter any Eureka Island during normal hours and find a group to spawn NMs, or join one of the many BA runs a week. Like, BA went from "we maybe fill a group on Saturday evening" to "gl getting a spot on the friday morning run"
Quest synced sidequests scale to your current level so when leveling another job you can do sidequests in any current expansion zone instead of having to do zones in order like HW sidequests
Heavensward introduced level synced quests for tribal quests, and Shadowbringers expanded it into all sidequests for leveling so that you can do them in any order. Unfortunately they didn't add them into the previous expansions sidequests
I believe you are referring to level synced side quests. Quest synced side quests are the quests that unlock as you progress through the MSQ and are unlocked at various quest points, usually at the end of an area/hub before you leave. That way if you don't do them at the time they are relevant to the MSQ story point you end up with dozens of side quests that you have no idea at what point they were relevant in the story and doing dozens of them back to back for levelling another job feels bad. Quest synced side quests are good for experiencing the story without any timeline confusion or NPCs still talking about what happened ages ago in the MSQ. Being quest synced helps level a second job as you do the story, so it isn't too far behind in xp when you lvl cap your main. I don't know if they have a level sync aspect as I do them when they come up, but i imagine you are 100% correct with the level sync part.
@@batwingpie that's exactly what I referred too. If you do a side quest in Kholusia for example, it doesn't matter if the job you are leveling is at 72 or 79. Unlike ARR, HW or Stormblood where the sidequests are locked to a specific level depending on the zone and what part of the msq they relevant to
I loved Diadem, Eureka, and Bozja. They all reminded me of EverQuest Online Adventures. I'm super stoked for the next iteration of that kind of content. My only complaint about Eureka was when they added sleeping dragons, which locked exploration behind level caps. Other than that, it's my favorite content in FFXIV.
The sleeping dragons aggro on sound, so as long as you RP walk you can easily walk past them at any lvl. Not to say content in Eureka wasn't lvl gated. It definitely was.
i played ff11 in the UK from 2004 iirc, hardcore for over 15 years... i would love a ff11 remake but... anything to celebrate all those lost hours is welcome heh (note to Xeno ^^ its slow for a reason, youll see if you play it to endgame, theres alot to think about and do while you are using actions. Also, the actions are really situational at times rather than spammed so "slower" is welcome. lastly, you get alot of haste (skill/spell speed) later also and multiple hits also). If a remake comes out, make sure you play it, its hugs and so amazing at times.
The fact that this expansion is going to have all the content that’s been introduced over 10 years of expansion dropped in this one single entry is ridiculous. Too many that have experienced each of these contents individually over time it may not seem much but that is a lot to have in one game.
@@vaan_ to fit all the content I imagine a copy/paste scenario. I imagine new content variations to be added in further expansions when they don’t have to work on others like cosmic, races, etc. Wither copy/pasting was the best move or not idk. A lot of people wanted it but at the same time they like to use the word lazy 😂😂
What if they just make Dark Rampant in replacement of light rampant and reverse what you're supposed to do? That way it's a new mechanic, its in reference of light rampant, but its not exactly made harder, just made different and fucks with people who are used to it being the other way. I figure in the Eden ultimate they're going to explore "What if Gaia didn't stop Ryne in time and there was another flood of light?"
They’ll probably do this then combine them into something like “twilight rampant” where you gotta do both at the same time and there’s light and dark aoes, towers and mechanics going off, maybe close/far tethers and it’ll end up being similar to like P11S dark and light but with actual hard mechanics
@MayHugger I already did.. but there needs to be more options... honestly they need to just stop locking glam behind classes because there are so many really neat looking outfits that I can't wear on certain classes..it's a shame honestly
Not it won’t. They said this about EW too. Don’t get me wrong I’m excited for DT but it’s gonna be more of the same. I just hope they improve on the jobs and combat in some way.
Yay bringing back the Final Fantasy 11 raids and BeastMaster. Plus putting in Viper job from Final Fantasy 9 that the monkey hybrid used. 2 epic jobs that makes me want to play it again.
Yeah no one liked Eureka when it came out. Devs couldn't fix it in time and Pagos was trash. Then Pyros (and then Hydatos) came along and fixed shit and made it fun. Wild that.
Honestly doesn't look like there will be more content. Everything they announced so far is pretty basic stuff that has been in every expansion. They keep playing it safe
-core content like dungeons, 8/24 man raids etc -ultimate(s? introduced in stormblood and is the opposite of playing it safe) -cosmic exploration thing (ishgard restoration? introduced in shb) -deep dungeon (introduced in HW, missing in shb) -V/C dungeons (only introduced in EW and doing it again despite criterion's low participation rate is also not playing it safe) -field operations (missing in EW) -another limited job when blue mage isn't exactly successful idk looks like more content and not playing it safe to me. unless you're talking about the gearing process or something?
@dividedbyzero4 you just proved my point lol. It's more of the same thing we've been getting. Nothing new. No risks. It's fine if you enjoy it. Alot of people seem to. I just want something different
Idk about hildebrand part. But I partially agree. Honestly - i think that the best way would be to make first part/chapter of Hildibrand mandatory for that kind of stuff, but afterwards - only the latest/current expansion hildi should matter. Or you know, first chapter + EW Hildi quests for EW relics, first chapter + dawntrail hildi for dawntrail relics, etc (just for example)
Everytime someone goes "Oh man I hate Hildibrand" I always think that person hates any type of entertainment that doesn't involve prog in something or another. Just sit back, enjoy the goofiness, the world is silly enough we can just shower in the goofs and the Hildibrand goofs are top tier. I enjoy how mad folks are about me being snarky as a bit.
I'm the type of person to laugh hysterically at the same overused joke or fart 20 times in a row, but I absolutely despise Hildibrand because it's painfully unfunny and it tries too hard to be funny sooo
This is a textbook strawman argument lol. I thought some of Hildebrand was funny but I still see why some will find it a slog. Especially if doing it all in a short period.
if limited jobs could eventually be upgraded into "advanced jobs" (aka normal, full jobs but with complex side content) i would be very excited for limited jobs. They'd be like delayed job reveals with fun gimmicks.
The only reason they're limited to begin with is because player behavior between 11 and 14 changed or so the Devs have said. It was a normal job in 11, but people these days can't even fathom how it could be balanced in 14 and the devs worried people would be discriminatory and pretty much shun them. You just can't normalize a job who's identity revolves around putting in extra work to be what it is. Someone would complain. Either about having to do more work, or that some of it's class identity is compromised. It's a no win scenario SE created themselves. Then the whole argument of having it a limited job to begin with would fall apart. BLU could of been so much more, but unless a miracle happens I fear it'll always be limited. Hope I'm wrong tho. @@bloodbane93
At the very core these jobs were made limited because they break the games flow in many different ways that simply scaling the abilities down wouldnt fix. though i wouldnt be against PvP between just Limited classes and just let people wreck havoc.
Tht’s probably the dumbest take Ive seen on limited jobs. The entire reason those classes have fun gimmicks and are fun to engage with is because the devs dont need to balance them for raids and current content. Wanting them in endgame is the sam as saying you want those classes removed and streamlined.
No it doesn't. This isn't a raiders game. You're playing the wrong mmo. They toss you a savage but you are not the majority of the game's playerbase and they know this. Hence why when xenos and people like that complain about "easy" content and watered down jobs, they are literally screaming into a void that the rest of the players could care less about.
No, since most people only do content, not for the content, but to get shiny new thing, people get new shiny thing, never ever do it again since 0 roulettes fot it, then say rewards are easy to get and bad. The only worthy criticism to those i can think of is criterion having a "Savage" version which is fair, since it'sbvery pointless considering it's just criterion but no one can die. But like, 90% of the critics are actually just about the rewards, and people wanting gear progression out of it. Which lead to the last one giving some weapons... Even if it wasn't implemented in a way people liked
The idea behind them is good. The implementation is bad. Once you get your rewards there's nothing motivating you to go back to them outside of the fights themselves, but they're not so exceptional that people would do that often. They're not like regular dungeons or trials that have roulette and weeklies tied to them. Again, they're not bad. It's just that they didn't put enough thought into them to make people want to constantly go back to them.
@@SRFAA So when they talk about adding a new variant dungeon, is that including Criterion? Are they variant/criterion different from eachother or do they kind of go hand in hand?
Imagine being so elite you don't like the best expansion of the game with a story better than most single player rpgs, and this is in an mmo. Oh, that's right. You probably skip cutscenes because the story is for filthy casuals.
@@leonharte7780 writing wise, the one I enjoyed most was by far stormblood; if you asked me to rank them I'd do StB > ShB = EW > HW > ARR. But that's neither here nor there; I main scholar and I absolutely detest what ShB did to its job design. I can actually go farther on that point: I utterly detest how boring and homogenised all the jobs are; for all practical intents and purposes they're currently just role glamours. This is especially true for healers, and tanks to a lesser extent. I just don't find it fun, especially when combined with the modern encounter designs that leave no room for chance and variation, just so their primitive "Duty Support" system can do it.
Doesn't matter how much content Dawntrail has if it's the same content every single expansion has. The amount isn't the fundamental issue, the fact that they've been doing the exact same things for a decade is. Every expansion is the same expansion with a new coat of paint.
@@redgeoblaze3752Yeah, we went to the moon in 4. In 5 we had worlds merging. In 9 we went to a different planet. This is all normal for Final Fantasy.

They can only follow feedback of things that they tried. They can't read minds though. Anyone that wants something new or different needs to speak up and tell them what they want.
.....i'm eager to see how they will make DRK even more inferior to the other tanks - maybe make Bloodspiller share cooldown with fucking Shadowbringer.
The fact i been playing all tanks and learned how little Dk has on survivability when comes health is obsured fucked. Palidans can cast their heal spell and enough ways regen mp, warriors 80% of their heals just by button deal damage, even Gunbreaker has Regen and [ability name i cant recall]defense buff and auto heal. Like dk has one ability that heals and shares cool down and even the. Heal is so much crappier then other 3. As person ran dk for longest time it was just insane to realize this.
@@ruick78 Gunbreaker's heal is called Aurora, it has 2 charges, also Heart of Corundum is amazing.....but yeah, you got my point - DRK is clearly the worst of the tankers now, even with all that cope from people saying that TBN is broken when Holy Sheltron, Corundum and Bloodwhetting are much, MUCH superior tools....and the worst part is that it's EASY to fix DRK, but they just keep pushing nonsense like enhanced unmend, and Abyssal sharing cd with Carve and Spit, ffs
@@ruick78Paladins should never be casting their heal if you’re playing correctly lol. Mentioning that is a joke. You’re not just losing mp. You’re losing gcds you should be spending on damage. Especially because paladin has a passive now that makes their damage spells heal them. All that said, why does it matter whether or not drk has as much self healing as others? It’s not like self healing is something wholly necessary. Drk can survive fine regardless.
@@TenebrisGladiusOther tank cds are not superior tools. Tbn will always be one of the best simply because its a huge shield that scales with max hp and synergizes with damage reduction effects. As opposed to other cds who’s main effects are just more damage reduction that has diminishing returns with other cds.
They should let you just do Hildabrand anywhere with a warning that you're starting later in, we have NG+ so surely they can go redo it after if they wanted to do it in order
17:40 Almost as if people want Eureka-esque content but actually good (why isn't that an option here?) and not just painfully tedious grinding, while the devs seem to only be able to overly compensate to criticisms by going to the extreme ends (from 2-minute meta, to aggressive homogenisation, to the state of savage criterions)
Also Eureka has always been on of my favourite parts of this game, I've done savage and ultimates, I've done deep dungeons and hildabrand and Eureka is probably the most fun I've had in in this game that I still enjoy just as much if I go back to it Bozja was alright but I enjoyed Eureka more, I know Pagos' layout is a little obnoxious but I think if it wasn't for the logos afterwards it would be my favourite zone because it's interesting in it's layout, the TPs make it a lot nicer to travers too, they are well placed, tbf I might still like it as much as Pyros anyway
The point ist Eureka is fine now, but imagine doing it when it comes out... what i heard it was shitty af and they fixed it so today its really fun but it wasnt during release...
Dark knight is the black mage of tanks. It doesn't have a survivability issue. It has a players dont know the fight well enough to make effective use of tbn issue.
"They" who? No one said that Endwalker would have a lot of content. Dawntrail will have more content than every expansion? This is actual factually true. We will have more content now than any other expansion. Field operations, exploration, BLU mage updates, Beastmaster, the usual content we got until Shadowbringers, then we got Criterion / Variant (I don't care if the rewards are bad. THE CONTENT IS GOOD). And we'll have new stuff to look forward to. 2-dye channel, Raid Planner, hats, etc.
@@ruick78 because base stormblood story was bad, and was then brought back up by how amazing the patch content was for the expansion. I know its impossible for xiv players to see nuance when someone is criticizing the game but this is unreal
17:40 , yeah ikr? I wonder why people really wanted to play the MMO part of the game like Eureka/Bozja/Firmament in FFXIV. Honestly, for the life of me I can't figure it out.
It's funny how people will retroactively glorify things just to say 'old thing better, new thing bad'. The "muh midcore, EW is dead cuz no Bozja" crowd really likes pretending Bozja was this universally praised and enjoyed piece of content. I remember plenty of comments saying they should stop wasting dev time on Bozja, because it didn't engage a big enough part of the playerbase. But the midcore players have will get what they want I suppose. Watch people complain in 7.0 because it isn't exactly what they want.
Hildebrand takes like barely a day to do if youre reading all the currants l cutscenes, and like maybe 3 hours if you're skipping everything. And for the trials just unsync the lower level ones
I don't know... But I have a huge gut feeling the character creation option is gonna be so overhauled, we might have the accessory to add a pearl on our head and become Garlean
Story skip or not. The game is story based. If you don't like hildibrand, they and I don't care. Do it or skip. Get over it. This is a STORY game. The weapon isn't even mandatory. I'm not complaining about savage or ultimate weapons. even tho I don't enjoy it. If you don't like it, don't do it. Simple
@@vaan_ Hildibrand is doable by anyone. Ultimate and savages are not, so putting a story after them wouldn't be achieveable by everyone. Therefore, they don't do that. YoshiP said it's a story game first, and story skips are revenue, so why not. People can throw their money any way they want. Relic weapons are not mandatory to advance the msq, nor are savage raids. They are extra content. Just don't do what you don't enjoy. This shiny relic is for the players who enjoy Hildibrand. I have no other relics.. why? Because I don't enjoy grindy content. And that's fine. Those relics are not mandatory either:)
I skipped all the hildibrand quest starting from HW, this is to let people know it took me 2hrs to skip everything till I reach the first step of the relic. Would probably be a lot longer if I started from ARR. Even just finishing the quest this 6.55 was a damn pain to do. Edit: Eureka was such a grind when it was initially released and I hated it. If you missed out on the hype train on Eureka, you're fucked (at least in my DC) and that's why some people hated at it at first. After 1 expansion later, it was chill because the grind was less than it initially was and there are still some groups that still schedule to do the BA. TL;DR I hated the grind fest but when it was nerfed it was fun. Special thanks to the community that still kept on running scheduled BA runs.
I wonder if the same happens for Bozja? I went in eureka after SB so it feels fresh and chill, while did Bozja on release and everyone was rushing to every fates and wait for no one…
Paldian armor always feels generic. I mean i get it,, its iconic look but i feel at first glance would not tell difference most job specific gear for them.
forget hildebrand, what about wanting to do the current crafting/gathering but having to go through 967,000 YEARS of garbage class quests to keep up??? that entire chunk of the game is gated behind genuine masochism
so the point about eureka is true but not bozja. everyone i know loved doing bozja, i was in there so much grinding for relics. so why they would stop a good thing is beyond me. honestly i even liked eureka. but most didn't.
Zenos is immortal remember, he has ascian power to transfer his soul into other bodies, he didn't die in endwalker so he should come back at some point, i hope so anyways.
What other bodies were there to transfer to at the literal edge of the universe? But either way, his story concluded neatly and has good closure. Bringing him back again would just ruin it.
I complained about Eureka. I did NOT complain about not having an equivalent this expansion. In fact, I praised it. It was so nice to be able to log in to the game and not have the looming chore of some grindy exploration zone waiting for me. Screw Eureka, keep that garbage away from me. Bozja was better and more tolerable, but the relic grind associated with it was too painful (at least until they buffed the materials drop, which by then didn't do much for me). Please continue to give me my 1500 tomestone relics as an alternate option to the mindless grind.
Alliance Raid and Cosmic Exploration are my top 2. They can legitimately tie 11 and 14 together, and I am hoping they do because when they "finished" 11's story back in 2015, they dropped some stuff that explicitly mentioned other worlds (on top of the Walk of Echoes) and a lot of them dying. A theme that got picked up in Endwalker's MSQ. Plus the Ivalice raid story even mentions Tartarus, which could be in reference to 11 and if they go that route I will be a very happy fan. But mostly I just wanna Prishe & the ofher girls rendered in 14's engine ❤❤❤
What do you mean playing it safe? EW took gambles on Island Sanctuary, VC Dungeons, and easy relics. DT now gambles on Field Op, Cosmic Exploration, Beastmaster, and VC Dungeons again. How are any of these "safe" lmao. They can literally just stick to the ShB content formula and it would be just fine for them, but they didn't.
@@felixryan9798If I’m being honest, I wouldn’t consider anything you brought up to be risky except VC dungeons (which IMO was not a great gamble since it ends up being dead after like 2 weeks). Island Sanctuary and easy relics are some of the safest content for the 40 year olds with carpal tunnel that only log in to do roulettes and AFK in Limsa. I’m sure raiders and crafters also appreciate it, as it becomes easier to do everything as well. Don’t think it’s a gamble to lower the level of entry or time investment.
@@lo9707 It's not "safe" when it's something they have never done before. It's safe when you can guarantee the outcome of something, and it was a fact that the things they tried this expansion saw engagement only in the first few weeks. It's a gamble, and it didn't turn out well this time.
@@felixryan9798 Just because it’s something “new” does not make it a gamble or unsafe lol. Monotonous forced daily login content is not revolutionary nor something that was unsafe for them to implement. If anything, it’s the safest kind of content they can add lol. The game already has so many dailies in various forms (that people do even if it’s ancient by now). Adding relics that supplement your dailies and knock off garrisons were not gambles. This idea that XIV exists in a vacuum is silly.
Beastmaster is so pog BUT , why won't they rework the pet system man , Verminion is such a boring game mode , and absolutely dead too, just make pokemon battles man ;_;
Alex, I take things Developers say if people are unhappy with a game for 30. Getting more content than endwalk had isnt really hard. But is it good or also just Endwalker levels of good. The new Alliance raids are the worst ones they ever made. And the rest wanst that good either.
Exactly 400 to 500 tomes is the only perfect amount to create a compromise between everyday players and weekend players with busier lives and it'll never change. Trust me I've crunched the numbers with white boards and markers for countless nights and I assure you Yoshi P has done the same.
Devs really need to figure what players need, not what they say (cry about). Please stop with square-circle arenas and try something new like an actual battles against not one boss but entire armies as a boss. Call it a new mode to shut everyone up.
You have to remember what the scope of FFXIV is. It's made for players that can't dedicate all their time to 1 game, or with busy lives. All of their content has to fit inside that framework.
Eureka is still the worst piece of content any MMO has ever brought to live since the dawn of time. I pray that they just improve on what bozja did 100000 times better than eureka already

Oh, im familiar with the mechanic, just commented this for the memes
haha TRUE!
LMAO imagine that dude dig out from his grave and suddenly praising ff14 LOL
I didn’t think about this… but Hildibrand quests replaced the need for doing 500 fates and 50 dungeons for a relic. Those who’ve done them previously were rewarded.
thats what Ive been saying to my guild mates.
They were complaining about the relics being just farming tomestones and thats it.
And I went like: "Dude, I wanted to get my relic, but then I was told I need to do ALL THOSE HILDIBRAND QUESTS!!!!! Like WTF."
So, if you skipped hildi, because you are not into comedy, like me.
Then... It was like 2 weeks of watching cutscenes and waiting for gilgamesh fights to pop up, AND THEN there was the Tomestone farming after that.
Of course there is no Infinite fate and dungeon farming like in the past, the farming IS hildibrand.
ye personally I prefer farming the stones XD that at least is less of a timewaste lol
Manderville relic is the best relic system in the game, now set me on fire tie bricks to my feet and throw me in the river.
On EU it was a different story.
no its still bad and even though it got better in pyros and on if you were behind the curve like i was it was next to impossible to get anything done till it was nerfed and even still its a slog to get through, BA might be fun but I'm was so burnt out from Pagos I didn't even want to finish Hydatos when I finally got there
Eureka is dogshit and the relics tied to them are worse fuckin RGB color wheel bouncin tint lookin ass puke content

I disagree with the Hildabrand take, as a new player I recently decided to do the quests and it’s completely manageable. It’s worth for a BIS weapon item where you have to grind just as much to get it if you were doing savage.
I day hildy maybe takes a day if your actual going through it and reading watching. Otherwise skips all acenes maybe 1-2 hours.
Hildebrand is based as fuck, such a good quest line
Nah, it's a waste of time to have to go through all of it. Especially if you're like me and hate that style of stupid ass toddler humor.
I thought people were complaining EW relics were too easy to get? Truth is they aren't.. UNLESS you already did Hildibrand.
Naaaaah the ew one is a bit hard to, because it directly ties to the stb one.
"Spells in waiting - Light Rampant" ... Gaia cast "True Relativity"
I did Eureka for a few minutes and I dropped it. I stuck more with Bozja for the experience and I ended up liking it quite a lot
I'm incredibly excited for the XI raid. It'll be nice to see those characters and bosses again.
Didn't care for either of them
They literally said why we didnt get a field operation. They wanted to move the resources from what would typically be Bozja, to content in Dawntrail instead. They know it was better received. They needed more resources for it, so we had hildibrand quests replace relic weapon this one time.
@@StormierNik Well there you have it then ! I thought I heard something about this but I was unsure and didn't want to spread misinformation

Good. I started having too much life recently... going outside and shit. Bring the content, Yoshi.
What's the difference between Hildy and MSQ? Why different treatment? Isnt it the same logic?
Quest synced sidequests scale to your current level so when leveling another job you can do sidequests in any current expansion zone instead of having to do zones in order like HW sidequests
wait they're doing that??
Unlike ARR, HW or Stormblood where the sidequests are locked to a specific level depending on the zone and what part of the msq they relevant to
0:57 Looks like the JP said "Level-adjust subquest", so probably just all those standard ! marker quests that sync to your level
I’m hyped for Dawntrail. I hope that because it’s a new story it will have as much content as ARR if not more.
Eden Ultimate, hell yeah, i need to clear this at all costs.
I loved Diadem, Eureka, and Bozja. They all reminded me of EverQuest Online Adventures. I'm super stoked for the next iteration of that kind of content. My only complaint about Eureka was when they added sleeping dragons, which locked exploration behind level caps. Other than that, it's my favorite content in FFXIV.
the sleeping dragons you can walk slowly past?
Eureka grinding brought me back to Maplestory and LaTale grinding. Going from area to area just farming enemies until I'm ready to kill bosses.
The sleeping dragons aggro on sound, so as long as you RP walk you can easily walk past them at any lvl. Not to say content in Eureka wasn't lvl gated. It definitely was.
@@danimyte3021 I totally missed that part of the original comment. You are correct that walking slowly is all you need to do.
i played ff11 in the UK from 2004 iirc, hardcore for over 15 years... i would love a ff11 remake but... anything to celebrate all those lost hours is welcome heh (note to Xeno ^^ its slow for a reason, youll see if you play it to endgame, theres alot to think about and do while you are using actions.

They’ll probably do this then combine them into something like “twilight rampant” where you gotta do both at the same time and there’s light and dark aoes, towers and mechanics going off, maybe close/far tethers and it’ll end up being similar to like P11S dark and light but with actual hard mechanics

damn Dawntrail have so many content, 8.0 could be out 3+ years later after 7.0
Honestly doesn't look like there will be more content. Everything they announced so far is pretty basic stuff that has been in every expansion. They keep playing it safe
-core content like dungeons, 8/24 man raids etc
-ultimate(s? introduced in stormblood and is the opposite of playing it safe)
-cosmic exploration thing (ishgard restoration? introduced in shb)
-deep dungeon (introduced in HW, missing in shb)
-V/C dungeons (only introduced in EW and doing it again despite criterion's low participation rate is also not playing it safe)
-field operations (missing in EW)
-another limited job when blue mage isn't exactly successful
idk looks like more content and not playing it safe to me. unless you're talking about the gearing process or something?

Idk about hildebrand part. But I partially agree. Honestly - i think that the best way would be to make first part/chapter of Hildibrand mandatory for that kind of stuff, but afterwards - only the latest/current expansion hildi should matter. if limited jobs could eventually be upgraded into "advanced jobs" (aka normal, full jobs but with complex side content) i would be very excited for limited jobs. They'd be like delayed job reveals with fun gimmicks.
I wish they'd at least put them in pvp. There's no reason they can't just hand pick like six spells that aren't op and let them do CC or something
@@KaizerWarrex bad take
Tht’s probably the dumbest take Ive seen on limited jobs. The entire reason those classes have fun gimmicks and are fun to engage with is because the devs dont need to balance them for raids and current content. Wanting them in endgame is the sam as saying you want those classes removed and streamlined.
The Paladin , in my opinion, looks like the best one we've gotten to date. The only one that's close is the Shadowbringers set.

No it doesn't. This isn't a raiders game. You're playing the wrong mmo. They toss you a savage but you are not the majority of the game's playerbase and they know this.
Hence why when xenos and people like that complain about "easy" content and watered down jobs, they are literally screaming into a void that the rest of the players could care less about.
as someone who hasn't been playing, do people not like vartian/criterion dungeons? Xenos said "I can't believe they are still doing variant dungeons"
@@dylanwright6632 Hand in hand. It's just another difficulty setting. Variant is regular, and criterion is the harder version.

Less load screens than Starfield xffing
It’s so easy to spot the ultra casuals.
@@kennys6288 it's just as easy to spot the ultra hardcore type; the moms basement dwellers with no job living on government assistance.
Love the ears.. 😊
New 10 years of recycle contents great 👍
so the point about eureka is true but not bozja. everyone i know loved doing bozja, i was in there so much grinding for relics. so why they would stop a good thing is beyond me. honestly i even liked eureka. but most didn't.
Devs confirmed he is done with, there will be no more Zenos (thank god)
@@Corvus7159 he was my fav character by far, i hope he does come back cause i didn't see anything from devs saying hes not
I complained about Eureka.
Don't get my hopes up bro 😭 Prishe is my favorite character in all of 11 lol
@@dragumkirisute1998 mine as well
I mean it's the same as always, why do they even make these presentations 🤣
This is new content?? Lmao this is all the same since stormblood, almost 8 years
They have been playing it safe since Shb as far as content goes. It’s kind of boring.
"Many new dungeons." As many as 2.0? Because that's the only I will accept as many.
I wouldn't get my hopes up their idea of lots of content was island sanctuary and criterion lol
Beastmaster is so pog BUT , why won't they rework the pet system man , Verminion is such a boring game mode , and absolutely dead too, just make pokemon battles man ;_;
Alex, I take things Developers say if people are unhappy with a game for 30. Getting more content than endwalk had isnt really hard. But is it good or also just Endwalker levels of good. The new Alliance raids are the worst ones they ever made. And the rest wanst that good either.
I hope they'll change some things in DT. Like savage and tomestone unlocks and ways to obtain gear.
More content but still a 450 cap. Watch
Exactly 400 to 500 tomes is the only perfect amount to create a compromise between everyday players and weekend players with busier lives and it'll never change. Trust me I've crunched the numbers with white boards and markers for countless nights and I assure you Yoshi P has done the same.
i won|t and we all know it
ARR still had the most content...i miss ARR..
same content than Stormblood but variant dongeon remplace the old hard dungeon.
Devs really need to figure what players need, not what they say (cry about). Please stop with square-circle arenas and try something new like an actual battles against not one boss but entire armies as a boss. Call it a new mode to shut everyone up.
What do they need though? That's the question.
true, real, based, and fuckin spot on
So you are telling us that "we need entire armies as a boss"? Who are you to tell what the players wants? Shut the hell up lol.
Simple get rid frontlines make rival wings main focus. Actually fun game mode. Frontlines is just shooting gallery and waiting timer run out
You have to remember what the scope of FFXIV is. It's made for players that can't dedicate all their time to 1 game, or with busy lives. All of their content has to fit inside that framework.
More content than ever!
That you will be skipping just so you can get to your sweaty raids.
Eureka is still the worst piece of content any MMO has ever brought to live since the dawn of time. I pray that they just improve on what bozja did 100000 times better than eureka already
