After seeing this video I ended up ordering one on Amazon and I am SO GLAD that I did, having tons of fun with it, only issue is that dashing in fighting games seems more difficult but overall I haven’t had any issues, it even connects to the switch without needing a pro controller or joycons
I see a lot of potential here. The Switch has a ton of great arcade ports and this kit takes advantage of that. Also, just like Arcade 1-Ups, the Switch is going to get a hardware upgrade someday and this is a great way to repurpose your G1 Switch.
Just ordered this. Also ordered the graphics to make my final fight into a smash bros. Thanks for the video. Really helped my decision
Repurposing the cabinet with a console is such a good idea. Hopefully more products like this get out there and make some money.
Dude. That Potion Party music haha. Great game. I’m definitely going to have to get this at some point.
Great review ... thanks for talking about the downsides (waking from sleep). Sounds like a good device ... might just splice in a few side buttons for the pinball, and easy to reroute the wires for the ZR and ZL. Thanks!
Thanks Tim, I’m planning on switching the wires around so i can play some pinball 👍💪
Pretty cool and great idea, but I will never understand how people tolerate the aspect ratio being squished. Just looks wrong to me.
That was my initial concern as well but after playing a few games it didn’t bother me.
You get one of those extension outlets with a primary and secondary outlets so if the A1up is in the primary slot it will turn on and off anything attached to the secondary outlets when you switch to slider on the panel. I use one on my xbox and MAME arcade to power everything together and turn off together. They are called smart strips
If I end up biting the bullet and getting the Midway Legacy cabinet I'm TOTALLY converting my old MKII into a super smash bros themed cabinet. I've got a ton of arcade games on my switch and this would be perfect
Do you have any issues with the down left position on the left joystick? I heard a bunch of people having this issue. Thanks
I just bought the nes fight stick. It's coming in today 👍🤙. Great video, and review. Thanks
I have a 1.3 version of intec gameing PCB and a Capcom Legacy 12 in 1 cabinet, but the aspect ratio is not good for switching between 16:9 and 4:3 games. I know there has two switches on the intec PCB to adjust that. But I need to change it every time when playing 16:9 and 4:3 game? Any ideas? Thank you so much.
Toycade, where to you screw in the ground wire from the old Arcade1up PCB board to the switch fighting stick PCB Board? The screws are upside down. Do you screw it to the back of the metal box? Thank You, great channel you have.
Hey John, I just reversed the screw and screwed it down on the other side. The hole allows you to screw it from either side. Thanks for the support mate.
@@ToyKade Thank You Toycade, I appreciate you getting back to me. That’s exactly what I did, I reversed the screw for the ground wire, boy that screw was so tiny but I got the wire connected thankfully. I love the fighting stick, I put it on my Street Fighter 2 Arcade1up and it works great. I got my PS4, Nintendo Switch and my SNES Classic Mini all hooked up to it and everything works perfectly, I love it, it’s nice to now have a multicade on the cabinet. I wonder in the Future if Intec Gaming will come out with Mame fighting sticks for the Arcade1up? I really like their products. Great Channel you have, keep up the Great Work!! Thanks Agin, John.
I have one and my first unit came with 5 dead player 2 buttons. My replacement worked and I returned the broken one. 🤷🏿♂️
i own a costco pacman unit i have not yet assembled but it is MY DREAM to hook up a switch to it and make a PACMAN 99 CAB - my question is - if i rotate the screen and replace the bezel - can it play widescreen format?? 💡 AND 💡 will i still be able to plug in the light up marquee ??? Thanks
The idea is pretty cool, but I'm not sure I'd want to play the Switch on a 4:3 screen. I'm also a bit confused by the need for Bluetooth connectivity, when the review clearly shows that the control panel's connection isn't as good as other Bluetooth Switch controllers. Given that you have to wire the Switch into the cabinet anyway by HDMI, they might as well use a USB connection to make it more stable.
I'm definitely interested in checking out the NES version.
Totally agree with you. It makes more sense to be wired, reconnecting the bluetooth each time after restart is annoying. Good news is the wired connection works quite well with a PS4 + Dongle. Check out my ps4 intecgaming video if you haven’t yet.
Awesoke.video. I'm sold lol! Do you know where I could get some t- molding for the control deck? I'm not a fan of the wood grain lol
I got one and installed it in my Gen1 Pacball not realizing I would need to rotate the screen and adjust the bevel but before I did all of that I was playing some Star Wars Pinball in vertical mode and noticed that there was a lot of sound drop out as I played. I even switched out the HDMI cable with a high quality one and it was still happening…have you had any issues with sound drop out on this device? Whenever there were voices talking during gameplay the sound would just drop and only return when there were no voices. I might have to send this unit back sadly.
Sorry to hear that mate, you must have got a dud unit. My sound has been fine on my unit, no drop out at all. Hopefully IntecGaming support looked after you.
very helpful review. What about the volume controls, do they actually work? I didn't remember you addressing the volume in the video. Thanks!
Yes the only function i forgot to cover 😉 The volume is the same as the gen1 cabs. 3 settings, off, low and high but it suffers the same problem as those gen1 and is a bit too loud even on the low setting. I recommend leaving the cardboard cut outs for the speaker holes on the deck artwork to reduce the sound levels.
@@ToyKade Awesome work sir. Appreciate the prompt response. You earned yourself a sub!
Thanks for the review, wondering about this product.
No probs, glad you found it useful. Its a great little product, cant complain when it’s only $135.
💥This looks amazing I can't wait for to come back in stock. Great video thank you🕹🕹🕹👍
Can you use the intec switch deck without the included pcb on an aftermarket monitor?
Damn that housing has seen better days sheesh 😳
Personally this is the best choice for modding a 1up. Better than a pi
Yeah mate probably the easiest mod kit out there to upgrade our old arcade1up cabs! You gotta get one 👍
I would say the best choice to mod an Arcade1up is the PC with a powerful graphics card. Why? You can install Steam to download those higher ends games such MK9-11, SFV, UMvC3, USF4, and SFXTekken. Also, you can download Retroarch, Redream, Demul, PSP, and Dolphin emulator. The Switch doesn’t have that much good fighting games on it to play on fight stick.
@@nwo2cool There's DEFINITELY more fighting games than you'd think for the Switch though.
@@emmastarr5242 But, does the Switch have popular fighting games such Killer Instinct 2014, Ultra SFIV, SFV, Tekken 7, MKX, and UMvC3 and Infinite? No. The Switch doesn't have that much good games on it.
Xbox 360 would be the best. They had such a good list of retro games available for it-MK trilogy, Capcom fighting games, Simpsons, X-Men- essentially turning it into an excellent multicade and making several arcade 1up cabs moot.
I have a ms pacman 4 in 1 arcade cab from arcade1up, is this going to fit in it properly? Kinda concerned with how this one seems to lay over the edges but that surface seems different on my cabinet.
The cab design on the Ms Pacman is different so it’s safe to assume this wont fit. Best fit will be Gen1/2 cabs only.
I will be testing this with a buck hunter screen, as I have an extra from modding buck hunter. It is the same model screen as nba jam listed in video so I can't forsee a problem.
The output is much better on the BOE (Gen3), definitely can’t see any issue with those screens.
it doesnt work with ps3 if you dont have an adapter. the console recognizes it as a pro controller, but it doesnt do anything. and the 8bit do wireless adapters dont work, ive tried it. im not sure which ones work
Is there any way to keep the original A1UP games that come with a cabinet, and also use this Nintendo Switch board? Maybe some sort of switch that can be installed to toggle between them?
Is there a bat top option for the joystick?
Can you request custom designs?
Not that I know of but Intecgaming has been very receptive of all my suggestion and i know they are working on additional functions and other versions of this product.
@@ToyKade I just realized you never showed gameplay of snes online or arcade Archives, so how do they look on this setup?
@@smg4reblooperd182 The SNES and Capcom Arcade Stadium play quite well on this setup. I've quickly put a 1 min video of some NES gameplay for you on the SF2 cab. The viewing angles on the SF monitor aren't as good as the Gen3 BOE monitors. th-cam.com/video/8pq9kNZv79o/w-d-xo.html
Can’t wait to get the 1up pinball top one …..I’ll finally get to play more pinball games even though the screen will be washed out
Instant buy for me if compatible with ps4. Or even hacked xbox
Is there anyway to use switch sticks and play original arcade 1 up pcb boards?
Will this work and fit on a Legends Ultimate Arcade cabinet?
Great video! I got my hands on one and it’s working well on my old final fight cab. I also have a retropi from a previous mod that I’d like to use with the controls. Anyone have experience using Bluetooth dongles to connect things other than the switch?
Thanks for the support. I’ve connected a PS4 using a 3rd party Dongle, refer to my video here th-cam.com/video/2RoFnKj_zmo/w-d-xo.html
How is the aspect ratio on final fight cab for Arcade games or NES/SNES games?
This IS a fantastic product. Truly. The biggest downside I've found so far is that it's TOO LOUD. I can't overstate how annoying this is... the settings are LOUD and OMG THAT'S LOUD. And their tech support says there's no way to fix it. The other downside is that it's all via these Bluetooth dongles when there are clearly USB 1-player and 2-player ports built in (but no way to switch them to work with your given device). Lastly, we could do without the faux woodgrain edge and cheesy cardboard covers.
Still, well worth it for the money!
I just noticed the fake wood grain... why oh why... black is so easy and goes with everything.
It's so jacked up! Lol! It's so funny.
Can you also use raspberry pi with this?
I have issues with speakers sound breaking up when performing a super on sf2.
That’s odd, I haven’t experience any sound issues with my unit, reach out to IntecGaming support and hopefully they’ll resolve it. My only complaint is the sound level is too high, even on the low volume.
Hi toycade do you know if there will be a famicom version?
Hi Hayati Takasaka, they are coming out with a NES version in October. You can use a adapter to play Famicom carts. You can watch the announcement in my video -> th-cam.com/video/jPY0p7T6An8/w-d-xo.html
how the hell did you get one of these?! ive been checking every day for over a month!
They’ve been releasing small quantities but the last batch of 18 units were released today but sold out quick. More is coming but could be a couple weeks away.
@@benzbenz496 yo Ben thanks for the heads up. I been trying to get one of these for months. Saw your comment and ordered on the spot! Thanks again
Does this work on TMNT CAB?
I believe this will work on a TMNT but the issue is the J plate (front panel below the CP) on the TMNT is smaller than a 2p cab so there will be a gap with the intecgtaming panel.
I wana build me a Super Smash cab. Does it work for that game?
You can just map the left and right buttons for pinball, must have been a recent update
Will this work on the new Simpsons arcade one up
Yes it will but the J panel (under the control panel) is too short and will expose a gab under the intecgaming fight stick.
They should have made them six buttons each, made them a bit smaller, and crammed the six buttons closer together. Then there would have been plenty of room for both players. The two extra buttons are practically worthless for arcade games.
But perfect for playing switch games that do require 8 buttons that are on nintendo switch. These weren't designed to solely play arcade games but to play any game that exist on Nintendo Switch.
The overlays look like amico graphics
Can you do this with a switch lite
I don't think the Switch Lite has a docking station nor a HDMI out, so by default this won't work =/
How does the switch connect ?
The lack of hand space seems pretty bad
It’s bad for fighting games and especially for player 2. You’re constantly hitting the player 1 buttons due to the lack of hand space.
is this U/Kevgret?
Out of stock and no in stock date on US Amazon.
Hey Tony, the last batch was released today but sold out really quick. I’ve been told more is on it’s way but there is a shortage of components.
I cant figure out where to ground it
Some new versions of A1up do not need to remove the ground, it’s because it was mounted on the back of the screen metal.
What if I have a light up marquee
Same here, the intec psb do not have marquee output. May be light it up separately.
Didn't work still trying will change commet when it works
I got mine on Amazon for $95
