Oh sweet Leslie you're looking so much better! I'm so glad you're still recovering well. My Mama who's also a Pastor's wife just made her persimmon pudding last week. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to taste any yet. She's in Greensboro and I'm closer to Danville, VA. We had a hard time finding persimmons this year. Luckily and old friend from work and some good friends from church found her some! You're right, getting that pulp is hard work! I also think the outside chewy part is my favorite! I also like to eat mine after it's cold from setting in the fridge overnight. I'm so glad you're feeling up to being back in your kitchen again! Thanks for sharing!

Glad to have you back.you look fine. I know about those persimmons. We had one on our property, also a mulberry tree, a pear and a peach. Of all the one left its the pear tree. Yeah I know not eat a green persimmon. Make your mouth pucker oh my word. We just ate our off the tree, the ground. We was young. I learned once they was ripe how good they was. Somebody came through our fence and destroyed the tree.. they do grow in ga. We had a lot trees. There was plum trees blackberries. Being young we never thought about snakes.. Cuban ones some call them bullets. My father had one growing over the shed... My g ma had a green thumb could grow anything.. I'm talking too much. Take care.. Love, respect and positivity. Oh yd was my birthday. I feel blessed to me here with my loving family.. Neita james.

I’ve been growing persimmons here n SE Arizona for 35 years! They’re wonderful! Fuyu is the type we grow here. They’re just coming in now. Here we have to net our trees and pick them. Ours are dark orange and larger than the ones you show. Our trees are small compared to yours. There are no detectable seeds and no pit in our fruit. We eat them like apples. Our pets like them, too. Ours are easy to grow and don’t require any pesticides or anything, so they’re organic. Thanks for sharing your recipe and greenscape with us! Be well!

Do you have any idea how blessed you are!!!! In OK we have persimmon trees but kinda hard to find. Store bought are okay but nothing like fresh harvested. Love to try new different dishes and can depend on you to share good, simply ideas. Looking good by the way. Great to see you ALMOST back to normal.

Oh gosh! My grandma and great grandma used to make the BEST persimmon pudding ever! The edges were chewy mmmmm!! Wish I knew where to find some persimmons. I used to know where a tree was, but it's now on someone's property. :( I want to make some so bad!

So glad to see you back in your kitchen and the yard. But hope you don't rush it. 🙂. When you were talking about the persimons I kept a question in my mind. Then when you held one up I thought....pomegranet!
😂. Have gotten those at the store and eaten the "jewels".....what they call them around here.....out. Yummy!
The pudding looked delicious! The bowl is the best of anything almost. 🙂🙂. Blessings! ♥️

Two things-- if you can let the pudding sit for at least a day the flavor intensifies. It draws up and looks ugly but oh my it is so good! When you plant your fruit trees plant more than you think you need to. You are also feeding the deer. They love persimmons and all kinds of fruit. Some people don't like that but we always liked watching them. Never a great bother for us. Glad you are feeling better. Take care.

We have persimmons here in Louisiana. Daddy remembers his mama making persimmon pudding and I remember her having a bowl of persimmons on her table, but I've never eaten one. I've heard they're very good, though.

Leslie you are such a sweet person. I feel like I've known you a long time. I wished I had a picture of the persimmon tree we had at our previous house. It was huge. I couldn't get to them fast enough because the squirrels got the good ones so I never could make a cake. Oh my goodness I thought I was the only one with a little cookbook from grammar school. Mine was actually from 1st grade because I didn't attend kindergarten. Lastly could you please tell me where you got your shirt? I love it, it looks so comfy and warm.

I dont put spices in my persimmon pudding or my sweet potato recipes either. And no sugar in my cornbread either lol! So happy to see you up and around!
My mama would put the butter in the baking dish in the oven while the oven was heating and pour the batter in onto the hot butter. It makes a deep chewy candy like edge around the pudding. Oh yum!
