This is such a great song. They find this scale/riff that just grips you by your aorta. You're hypnotized into this type of floating contentment that you think couldn't possibly get any better. Then that "whooooo" organ comes in, and then it builds and builds, and it explodes into this immolating bliss.
I could listen to Mogwai for a year solid and not get bored 😊 this album is shaping up to being another blissful experience 👌👌this is quite old school Mogwai 🤔😊
Need live music concerts back in our lives again! 😭I am a Brit in Japan ,saw them live a lot I paid up to support them through these hards times. Will open a bottle and chill to the show tomorrow👍🍾
I think yt's algorithm got confused by the fact that I like virtual cardgames, and I ended up here listening to one of the most imersive songs I've listened in a while
Love that they have Colin Stetson on the track, that guy is amazing. Check out Ex Eye, the best saxophone led post metal band you ever heard. I promise.
This is so reminiscent of the Mogwai that so beckoned me in in the late 90s with Young Team. That slow build up leading into a crescendo of noise. Then the long calm down. So Satan, so fucking good!!
Don’t know if this has been mentioned but the name for this track came about cos one of the band couldn’t remember the name of Pat Smear from the Foo Fighters. Great track all the same!
My first Mogwai concert I met Dominic as he was playing the Galaga arcade before their set. As I asked him questions he was like "mate, I'm kinda in the middle of this." Lol. He was kind enough to respond after his game. Yes they were big fans of the movie Gremlins. 🤣
Good to hear they helped you make it through whatever crap the world threw at you, I'm recovering from a massive stroke at the moment, lost pretty much everything, and listening to Mogwai is slowly rebuilding my personality and giving me a reason to keep going. Determined to see them live again before I go.
Had seen them live in amsterdam at melkweg (a very small club) back in 2001, v good show, they played SO loud i left the place with some not so temporary hearing damage...
"Did you guys take turn typing letters or are there only two of you and one is holding the phone?" ,dan' (a real martyr's martyr so far as green beans grow)
I think I know you guys. Haha! You guys are pretty good T.O.T.M, lots of influences in your music kinda makes it hard to pin one down to your name you know. Sorry if that sounded rude, I was actually being rude at the time, I got through mood swings and sometimes I can’t filter anything at all. ,dan’
“When I was in jail, I channeled Mogwai and had conversations with them. Needless to say my Scottish accent is way better than it used to be.” ,dan’ (does a mean Prince Phil and decent Tom Hiddleston)
So obviously Mogwai, and at the same time as if Cinematic Orchestra had picked up your gear and jammed along with you. F*ck me sideways, how beautiful that is. On repeat.
"I am designating myself as the voice of reason for the next 16 months or so." ,dan' (edited from before) "Let me know if you are feeling upsidedown, you could be pineapple and this all could be cake."
The Young Team never gets old.
Cool comment
Love literally every track in this album, it's so good, just strikes that perfect balance between soothing and loud
From Russia with love. Thanks Mogwai.
4:15 Dominic opens the good book
when the synth comes in is one of the most beautiful things ever
This band got me through some really hard times in my teenage years. So happy this popped up in my suggestions ❤
Still dragging me through them at 51

One time D Vader gripped me by my aorta too.
That f*ckin guy… He punched me in the dick once.

I'm 19 and I've been listening to them for every year of my life since my dad showed me them at 6
@@strafeist3545 that is so cool 👌👌 I've been into them since 98, your dad is one good Father 🤩🤩👌👌

Old school Mogwai❤️
That¨s, for me, the best mellow made by Mogwai since Atomics Fat Man. They love us, they gonna blow up our school!!!
Classic quiet-loud-quiet Mogwai ,love it.
Always amazing.
Pure post-rock bliss
This is so hauntingly beautiful. A true masterpiece.
literally a perfect Mogwai song

There’s been so many truly great Scottish bands. Mogwai are near the top for me.
Boards of Canada too!
My favourite top 4 Scottish bands (and I live in Glasgow) :
1. Biffy Clyro
2. Mogwai
3. Teenage Fanclub
4. Boards of Canada

Best of the three new tracks released so far.
This will sound amazing live!
Excited for the concert tomorrow! Great tune

Hahaha! Good for you, my friend.
You're in for a treat, you have a vast and wonderful back catalog to explore
Wonderful song, in pure Mogwai style 🎶
Love that they have Colin Stetson on the track, that guy is amazing. Check out Ex Eye, the best saxophone led post metal band you ever heard. I promise.
I'm surprised no one else is shouting him out here, Colin is amazing
Love that fox cover! Wish they could do a full colour T-shirt with that design as well!
Yes if you pre ordered the new album there are special box sets which include an art print, a t shirt and either the vinyl or cd
Yes I want the whole set! Did you get it?
Isnt it a wolve?:)
Yes mine is to be delivered next Friday. I got the Deluxe CD box.
@@panti227 No, definitely a fox. Thousands of them in the city in Glasgow.

Classic Mogwai with some interesting layers. Reminds me of early Floyd in places.
Don’t know if this has been mentioned but the name for this track came about cos one of the band couldn’t remember the name of Pat Smear from the Foo Fighters.
Great track all the same!

Just over 24 hrs to the show, can't wait to hear again the only band that matters
THAT is MOGWAI !!!
🎸🥁🎹🤟👌 per usual
"Pat Stains" entered the New Alternative 40 Chart this week at #32!
It was played by Mary Ann Hobbs on 6music at 11am. It's amazing.
Magnificent song!👍🏼 I'm in love with the new album❤😍
Mogwai makes my pain goes away with anything they do. Without them, I would've died at 16.
