I use OmniRig as well for log4OM. It allows me to have Log4OM and HDSDR running simultaneously with my Kenwood TS-570D. This way I can click around in the waterfall to chase signals or find an unoccupied frequency and it updates the frequency in Log4OM for me to start logging. This arrangement also allows me to use the more customizable notch filtering in HDSDR for my receive when dealing with QRM. Thank you for your Log4OM tutorial videos. They are a big help!
When 1 click on a ham using digital modes .My Kenwood TS480 goes to FSK. Other modes like SSB/LSB and CW working ok with Log4om and omni rig .Any thoughts
Are there any other cables necessary to make the connection between the radio and computer... or is it done with the existing usb from the interface to the computer.? Thanks for an informative video.
+Joe77 it depends on the radio and the interface you are using. I have an older style signalink that takes two audio cables from the PC to the signalink. I then have an interface cable from the signalink to the mic jack on the radio and an audio cable from the radio headphone jack.to the signalink. I also have a cat serial cable from the PC to the radio for rig control. My rig is a Kenwood TS-570 Hope that helps.
Apparently I answered thinking this was a comment on my FT8 video. For the cat control with Log4OM all you need a CAT cable to go from the PC to the radio. My PC does not have a serial port so I use a USB to Serial adapter. If you are interested in FT8 then all of the previous comment is relevant.
I don't think you can use two radios at a time. The second vfo is for the second one on whatever radio you are using. I could be wrong but I've not seen a two radio set up
Hey Dennis, great video!
Thanks!

I am not sure on that one. I will have to test it out. Are you using omnirig or Hamlib?
