My 10 year old was memorizing this speech for class and this song helped her so much. We listened to it on repeat all week and her three siblings and myself have all been singing it. She gave her speech yesterday, and in the afternoon, as they were working on homework, they continued to play this video. Excellent work!

Fun fact: If you listen to this enough times while sleeping, it'll eventually implement itself into your subconscious. Where you're more likely to remember it for a longer time! Of course, this would take about a week of doing this every night. Not exactly a week, a little less than that, although it's a very good strategy if you have the time.

My 6 year old has memorized the entire Gettysburg Address, most of it by this video. I’m a historian & soooo proud! She is now using ‘I Memorized That’ to memorize the Presidents, something I did when I was little (but I had to use an encyclopedia!).

Tbh, this song helped me a lot in memorizing. We've got 1 week to memorize a speech, and I only had the urge to start memorizing 2 days before we come back to school. I listened to this song, sang along with it although I only mumbled the other words. I don't know why but the day before schoolday, I memorized it perfectly. Now, as I watch this video, I'm very proud that I can sing along to this without looking at my piece or even looking at the comment section for time stamps. We have learned some wonderful songs to memorize different things but this goes beyond that and is a reminder of the greater picture we are apart of and what has come before us. Thank you. When I first learned I had to recite the Gettysburg Adress I was so frustrated. Now I'm super thankful because after learning this song, it became THE BEST SONG EVER. Edit: ok so guys I didn’t fail :)) I wrote this after trying to memorize this speech for over two hours and nothing was sticking. Even though I didn’t finish memorizing most of the last part, just know that ur teacher isn’t trying to fail u, it’s more ab the effort u gave (from my experience at least). My advice: stop after 30 min if nothing is working for you and come back to it when your mind is ready. Don’t get frustrated w urself, it will only make matters worse!! Ik u can do this bc I have rlly bad social anxiety and I could :) Also, try asking ur teacher if u can recite it w a friend, this helped me a lot. Sending everyone lots of luck, if u need any help just ask me and I will try to reply!! (Sry for the essay everyone lol thank u for reading)🥰🥰

I haven't read that since I was in 5th grade when I probably had to memorize it, my roommate's father had a turn-of-the-century Gettysburg Address embossed in the whole nine yards by the first lithographic publisher. When I heard the singing it brought incredible life and meaning more than just a chanted address.
