Yes it is SAFE & still gave facilities to tourists Also it THE CHEAPEST SPECIALLY WITH RUPEE DEPRECIATION for eg. 4 star room rate is US$ 122. KFC full meal in SL prohibitively cheap for $ 3 with same international quality. Also within a short time one can travel 400 km from beaches to ancient runins to jungles to tea estates in Hills etc Every Democrat country has protests even USA UK. But SL ones are mainly peaceful unless police attack them.

Sri Lanka is very similar to my home state (Odisha, India), which is why i keep visiting Sri Lanka every now and then. Yes the situation is a bit bad now but you will find every Sri Lankan smiling at you. They don't have much to worry, India will be there to help out whenever they need us to. Apart from the government, even the people are deeply connected with Sri Lanka. It's a beautiful country and it will remain so for a long time to come.
Considering they are struggling and no tourists are coming, I'd be happy to pay 60p extra, even if he wasn't being "honest" or "fair". It might be the difference between his family eating or not.

The majority who are affected from the inflation here in SL are the ones like that lady who sold you that pair of pants. But tbh Rs.5000 is a rip off. 1000-2500 might be okay. @@adamandyaz If they don't compromise and seems price reduction is in vain, just tell "Ok thank you, I will look around" and pretend like going away. And then they will agree. But you should still pretend to go away. Then they will agree to reduce price in an unbelievable amount. That is how normal transaction happen here. Many of them try to exploit foreigners at their first chance.

Elephants really like the taste of wood-apple. So when they eat it, they munch on it. They don't just swallow it as a whole. The secret behind the wood-apple being whole when the elephant excretes is sometimes they poo on wood-apple that fell from trees around. Bugs that are attracted to elephant poo sometimes make holes in the outer shell of these wood-apples and eat inside. That's why people believe elephants only eat the inside the wood-apple. Btw we really appreciate the positive feedback on our country. ❤

Negombo is pretty quite and safe than other areas, when I was a kid I went to a school in Negombo. Streets might be decent in certain parts but whats really killing the economy is the crippling inflation which is at 68% and rising(hence the price differences for good and services). I dont live in Sri Lanka anymore but I have some family that does, so thank you so much for visiting and painting a great picture. Its an amazing and beautiful country if not for the extremely corrupt politicians stealing from the general public.
Uber is available in Colombo. Pick-me is available in other major cities. Yes Tuk Tuk guys & few vendors do ripoff. We have to restrict them once the situation improves. Situation is improving faster✌🏻
Even in a Middle-level restaurant, you can have your lunch or dinner for $20 with your family. The issue is the income has not gotten a sufficient increment comparatively expenses. But due to the higher rate with USD. If you earn in USD, you are highly safe in Sri Lanka. Other than that there is nothing wrong here. If government and security authorities can look into those thieves Sri Lanka is a really good place to travel, Work from Outside the office.
Please remember guys that the value of the US dollar or English Pound or any currency compared to the Rupee is so great that these people have high fuel and living costs and no social security to fall back on and about all the country relies on the tourism so consider their individual circumstances in countries you visit and the hardships they face .Enjoy my beautiful motherland and all its beauty and food and culture and its kind people,Best wishes from Australia

Well come to Sri Lanka. if you have time in your stay, you can get a nice experience if you travel in train from Colombo to Badulla. that is magnificent journey through hill country with incredible views

Thanks for the review of the situation for tourists - just wondering though- do you think it's safe for a solo woman traveller? I know it's hard for you to gauge as it's always different when travelling with a male - but what are your general feelings/observations about it?
Fun fact, taking selfies with tourists is uniquely an Indian thing. Never seen in SriLanka. I guess he’s close to India (some Tamil people have relatives their). Love your videos. Some how feel the joy of traveling, watching you guys travel.

yeh we don't like being ripped off either, it's not nice. 99% of the locals were super honest and fair though which was good :)

if you have time in your stay, you can get a nice experience if you travel in train from Colombo to Badulla. that is magnificent journey through hill country with incredible views
