I started learning from guruji in 1971-74 at "Saurabh" and was asked by guruji to continue learning from his students like Shankar ghosh or Kanai dutta because he left india n joined as teacher to ali akbar collage, CA, USA. I went to shankar da for learning in '74. Guruji was a versatile legend. Few compositions presented here by my gurubhais just made me nostalgic. I left kolkat a in 1985 n settled at mumbai. Appreciate all your respect for a person who finished dominance of pandits n ustads presenting his students. Today there are 3 intern ational tabla players 2of them are bengali 1is guruji's deciple. Bengalis like anindo, swapan da kumar, late shubhankar n many have taken tabla playing as profession due to guruji. His contrubution is unparalleled. Jai guru🙏🚩
