Hello Schnell Jordan. Congrats on over 100k subscriber's already, and again from me.
I just love your reactions because you're so real(authentic) andi love your facial impressions when you hear Floor do something new with her voice that you haven't seen. BTW If I remember correctly this song was ask by someone to make by Tuomas. He hated the idea at first, and as irony would have it this and Nemo songs became songs that pretty much launched them to rest to the world's knowledge.
I encourage you to see and listen the original Tarja version also. MV or concert, doesn't matter. Then you see how different the song really is when Floor sings it. This, Over the hills and far away, and Nemo are always those songs that I identify as Tarja songs.
And I don't mean Floor doesn't sing this beautifully.

It's not only beatiful to hear Floor singing, but his facial expressions while she is singing is such a pleasure to watch too. One of the early Songs, it is about the solar eclips "two hundred and twenty two days of light will be desired by the night". Because that's the amount of time that went by before the eclipse (11th of August was the 223rd day of the year). At that time their german record Label asked to write a song about it. One of the terms was " not longer than 3 minutes", Knowing Tuomas, he made it 4+

You need to listen to this with their original vocalist Tarja Turunen, trust me, you'll thank me for it.
This is one of the songs I fell in love whit Tarja on vocals. You should listen that too. It's different and I can't decide which is better....

The TH-cam police are coming! 🚨. This song was released as a non-album single a few days before the full solar eclipse in August 1999, which is what it is mainly about. Tarja and Floor both do a great job with this one. I associate it more with Tarja, but will never complain listening to Floor sing anything.

I would recommend 2 videos...one when he was only 15..."Tall Fidller" (Tommy Emmanuel cover); and the other just a few weeks ago now that he's 21/22..."Ibanez", which is only about 2 minutes long.

Floor Jansen did a fine job with this performance, but Tarja Turunen with her more dark soprano voice suited this Nightwish song better.

This is a great song. I actually like Tarja's version slightly better. It has a Haunt to it that fits the melody better, IMHO. Don't get me wrong, I love Floor to pieces.

The Tarja version you linked to is my favorite. It was produced when the band re-recorded the song in 2005 as part of the promotion of a compilation album. There is an earlier music video for when they first recorded this song in 1999. th-cam.com/video/UGfKMV5AbMI/w-d-xo.html. This is one of the songs that I love Tarja's performance as much as Floor's. Just checked the link you had for Annette (was excited since I had never heard Annette perform this song) but that is not Annette but Tarja. It is the first video they made in 1999 as I mentioned.

Absolutely beautiful, Floor does this so well. BUT although I came to Nightwish with Floor, so am not a ‘Tarja diehard’, I really think this is a ‘Tarja track’.
Nightwish fan from early on here. I second that! Floor is superb, but there are some tracks that suit Tarja better. This is one of them.
