Bought this watch just 2 months back. I have to say the dial is breathtaking, and the spring drive's accuracy is like +0.5 seconds a month. Yes a month, im not kidding, despite the specifications of 10 seconds a month.
Tim’s done thousands of these videos, probably forgot to for this one. I’m sure there’s other Grand Seiko reviews on his channel that include wrist shots
it truly is beautiful. The usual favorites like snowflake don't look as good irl, but this one is breathtaking irl. Beautiful caseback too, showing off that spring drive and a more elegant way to include the power reserve. But the bracelet is lackluster as usual for GS - male endlinks, no micro adjust and imo a tad unispired design.
How are Rolex dials co-equal with GS dials? I think that you're saying that for no other reason than to not offend the Rolex community. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't think of any finishing techniques on Rolex dials that meet the level of GS.
His company is a certified pre-owned Rolex dealer. Same reason he now says the Fifty Fathoms’ 1315 movement is fully machine finished: they know which side their bread is buttered on.
Rolex dials are fantastic and very beautiful, however GS hands / markers and dials are superior. He used to say GS is superior however since watch box merged with the 1916 company the bias has gone to certain brands that they seem to hold lots of stock.
I really want an evo 9 style case and dial, however it’s the awkward 22mm extra twice bracelet that puts me off. I would have been happier if the bracelet was like on the 62 cases, 21mm tapering to 18mm
Someone did a HORRIBLE aftermarket polishing job on that watch, particularly on the sides where it's brushed finished. You can pause it at 6:08 - it is NOT supposed to look like that, it has huge irregularities. Probably it was scratched and sent to an amateur for refinishing the sides. Fixing that costs around 8-900$ at GS in Japan. I know because I sent my High Intensity Titanium GS Diver (SLGA001) for a "deep polishing" and servicing and that was the price.
Look at the lug if you pause it at 2:33, the brushing along the mid-case is awful. Either GS massively messed up or someone hasn't been treating their GS with much love.
What an awesome Seiko. Love the spring drive technology.! Thanks 4 showing it? how much 4 the $3000 Seiko SpringDrive? RE,,, Ps. gave it a like!!!!!!!!!!!!
The “equal only to Rolex dials” is pretty cringe, Tim. Rolex is far and away the #1 watch brand…there’s no need to artificially pump it. People love their bracelets but other than that, no one is under the impression they’re the best at anything other than marketing budgets.
This is the most beautiful GS dial I’ve ever seen !

On my SLGA007 and can confirm. Im only at +1 after 2 months, and it's been at +1 for about 50 of those days without gaining another second
Classic GS , under promise and over deliver !
No wrist shot?

I never minded the power reserve indicator. But this is clean.

I saw a Seiko Presage with a double-deployant clasp - time for GS to get one.

I’m Loving This Dial! ❤❤ ❤ Among My Favorite Greens!
You might be colorblind, no joke..
What scenery will the Grand Seiko watchmakers cast their eyes on next?

I can't believe I'm asking this. Is there a polishing issue at the top of the brushing on one of the lugs?
Where?
2:33 ?

Is there a sticker on it? I can't tell.
@johnnysilverhand1733 LoL
If that bracelet tapered more, I would buy it. That being said, all GS look better on a strap.

No wrist shot 😢
At 51mm + it probably wears too big for him.
@@davidc5191 Doubt that's the reason. He regularly reviews and wears watches that are larger

No lume on a sports watch 😢
No need - the polish pick up any shimmer of light

Crapy no Tfit on the fly adjustment.

To many words in the dial!
