You are really helping me not only learn Maya, but UNDERSTAND Maya. something that is missing in most tutorials. Thank you. Now for the question... I used an image with lots of white and peacock, but could not get the shadows to look like the glass. In fact, I am not getting shadows at all. What could be the problem? (and yes, cast shadows is checked as is use ray trace shadows). I'm stumped.
is there a way to fill the emptiness on ur double sided leaf? i need to know if there is a way to make thickness out of a map on the geometry as if i have a filled extruded geometry. thanks in advance
how do one get semi transparent values in alpha channel? I'm failing to achieve that. I want to render a flat glass surface and need alpha channel to behave normally so i change BG color in photoshop.
This was very helpful, but I am running into another problem. I made foliage cards and rotated them like you would see in video games, but the issue is when I render I can see the back of the cards turning black when I didn't intend for them to do that. I've tried aiTwoSided, but that doesn't seem to work. Do you have any idea why that's happening?
Have you tried adding an aicolorjitter into the nparticle shader? th-cam.com/video/jmqBa_t2_QI/w-d-xo.html I haven't tried it but may be a good place to start.
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus thank you for respond. Basically i only want to assign standard surface shader to nparticles. I also only want to render using maya hardware 2.0. 😭 nothing super fancy. But for some reason nparticles by default already have blin shader (i saw in outliner) and change or remove that shader doesn't do anything in viewport. Thanks.
I feel happy when I search for a topic and find out that you have done a video about it.
more useful ,need more content, thanks for the video
More to come and thank you for watching! 😊

BTW to anyone else that ever has a strange no shadow issue, I rebooted my computer and everything is back to normal.
Great job figuring it out!
Thank you for the information
That was awsome, tnx for your great tutorials.
Your tuts are the best.
Thank you so much! ❤
Thanks! Helpful)
Glad to hear that! 😊 Thanks for watching!
Thank you sooo much 🥺
You’re welcome 😊
AS always Best video
Nice tutorial. Can you make a tutorial explaning how to aply textures whith animation? Thaaanks
Dear you can apply texture during the animation by creating reference
Thank you for the suggestion! Do you mean animate textures, like a television screen?
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus mam can you make a tutorial on blendshape controller for facial rigging??
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus yes! that

That's a good question. If you want it to be semi transparent, use grey colors. That will give you a variety of transparencies. I hope that helps!
I figured it out. Enabled Transmit AOVs and it worked.
How to create translucency on the leaves ?

yes
Thank you! And a medal for being first commenter! 🎖️
If I connect black and white texture with opacity, should I change the color space to Raw or it should be sRGB?
Hello i need help. How to assign different shaders to Nparticles ? I dont see any visual feedback 😢

Can you do a tutorial on doing foliage in maya?
I would like to see this too
I have one: th-cam.com/video/1xvfeFInNuM/w-d-xo.html but it's a bit outdated. I'll create an updated version soon! :D
Can you also do a tutorial on growing plants/flowers blooming without the use of blend shapes? I think it was called paint effects?
we need to add png image or picture with white background for transmission?
Any image with white, the image will look more transparent. The darker the color, the darker the transmission. I hope that helps!
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus thanks a lot ♥️
