You want to level all three of the crafting professions in ep 3 because you want to complete the lost and found quest that lets you craft epic weapons. In order to make an epic weapon for your class you need one rare weapon of each class from all 3 skills. That's the incentive to level them all up.
Yeah, I tried to acknowledge that in the vid but probably could have done a better job of it. You don't need mega levels in them though, just the bare minimum for the quest. Personally I don't see the point in getting to level 500 Stonemason if I'm a Guardian, but I think they will give us more incentive in future
@@danielmiller4354 ahh good point, the video I'm editing now is the one that talks about only needing a few levels in the other professions - i thought I said it in this one! Too much content to cover haha, thanks for pointing it out!
Good video, yeah what you said at the end about supporting the devs is the main thing. They've already made lots of updates and think they have a lot of good will from the community
Thanks mate, yeah as much as I'm enjoying the game, it's the long term prospect of having these 'gamers game' developers who have the right mindset, skills and ethos that has me really excited!
The copium and hope from you is hilarious. You’ve invested a year into that than channel because you wanted to get the jump on people. But the game is TRASH. And so is your channel. Better luck next time.
Really great video! I didn't realize what all was included w premium, but it basically sounds like the same level of an upgrade as OSRS is right now. If I find myself getting real into the game I'll 100% start buying premium to support the devs and continue my journey
Yeah very similar model to RS, you can enjoy and get max level in a few skills and a specific region, but premium unlocks more of the game. Hope you enjoy it! Glad you liked the video - it means a lot to hear!
I like the game and bought premium pass, but it does feel way too early for early access, and I'll probably wait to purchase it again if I'm still playing. It appeals to me an OSRS player who enjoys skilling, so I can really see the frustration players get when they see the steep requirements for quests the same way as they do in RS, I'm not surprised to see players say that they think that premium pass wasn't worth it. The devs do seem to care about player input. I'm hopeful for the content that comes later on.
Yeah I feel you, great thing is you can just stop paying and come back whenever you want without losing anything. Definitely is 'early access' , they've got a long way to go, but I think there's a lot of potential for something amazing here.
Those Cyclops chads are so badass, and at this point they are just a little part of the lore, there is some amazing potential in this world. people really can't see how those questionable design decisions were painstakingly considered by the team. Its not arbitrary grind for grind sake, the combat per episode pros far out way the cons if you have some vision.
That's absolutely fair enough, there's so much to do in the first 2 episodes anyway, so really is what I recommend. Episode 4 is really cool though, so if you feel like you've seen it all then don't worry the later episodes will have more content to enjoy.
You need all 3 to quite a low level to do the quest, but after that you can ignore them. Or do you specifically need 1 of each type to create an epic weapon? I thought it was just any 3 purples (could be from same profession).
Great review of the 4 episodes. I feel so torn about this game. On one hand I love the skilling systems the rewarding feeling of levelling and the quests. On the other hand some design decisions I find very hard to get on board with. My hopes are still high for when the game goes full release so fingers crossed they pull it off!
Yeah I have similar feelings. There is a load of stuff in the game that completely boggled me because it's just 'not how games work' but when I've tried them out and gotten used to it I've generally found they're BETTER this way. These guys have got some real street cred when it comes to game design and are brave enough to tear up the rulebook and try new stuff - that's what I'm really excited about.
wait you really left out the only reason youd want to train all 3 weapon crafting skills? The quest Lost and FOund rewards the ability to combine 3 rares of each class (purple color) into 1 epic of a class of your choosing (orange color). GOod video otherwise, proobably should had led with that, but im not rewriting now 😄
Hey JonMacDonald, are you sure it's 1 of each class or is it just 3 rares in general? I skipped the sidequest in order to get to episode 4 so I could show the premium content, backtracking to do it now. If you need one of each class for the epic then yeah you are 100% right. Although to be honest I would rather farm the epic drops from monsters personally. Thanks for the feedback and support - makes a big difference for a small creator like me.
probably will kick your name off of you and give you a number when someone else buys the name "permanent". This game seems like its made by jagex in 2024, yet comes from "the orignal makers of rs"
Good question, I asked the same thing but am not brave enough to try it haha! I think worst case scenario you get the same name with a #XX appended to it. Then when you resub you can get the number taken off. The danger is if someone snaps up the name while you're unsubbed. Having said that, knowing Gower I wouldn't be surprised if they just let you keep the name forever once you've got it, or at least give you some kind of grace period
What makes you think this seems like a Jagex game? To me it seems the opposite. I think you're talking about micro transactions, the reason Gower left Jagex is because of the MTX and the direction the game was going and deliberately set up this game to go against that mindset. Even the name 'Brighter Shores' was chosen to illustrate that there is a better way to make games, by putting the gamers first. I'd always warn people against making assumptions and actually read up on what the developers themselves have said about their ethos and vision for the game, or better off, try the game out yourself since a substantial portion of it is free.
let's be honest the game failed. at the beginning there was 21k online now 6k and falling. it's beautiful but there's too little in it to spend your time and money on it
The game isnt even released yet dude, calm down. Mmos take time to pick up steam, especially ones in early access with a team of 8 developers. I fully trust in Gowers creative process. He is committed to the game and I am positive it will have a good playerbase in the years to come.
as it stands right now, this game needs Tremendous amounts of work and updates to even begin to feel like a "open world MMORPG". It's just an empty, generic, mobile world game that lacks any sort of soul or game identity. Everything about this is just sub-par compared to every other Open world MMORPG on the market right now, so don't waste your money on a "early access" game lmao
I mean in a lot of ways I agree with your sentiment, I did recommend in the video that you do the F2P content first and by the time most people complete all the content in the free to play areas the game will likely be fully launched and more episodes will also be out. Bottom line is if you enjoy the game and the extra content is worth it to you, then go for it. Equally if you don't like the game that's fine too, we can't and shouldn't all like the same things. How far did you get? Sounds like you didn't have a good time!
You can keep the name mate, you just have a number appended like Polarergeist#01, that is your name forever. It's to stop people creating accounts to stop other people from names they may one day want and then never play them, which sucks for everyone.
Do you play Brighter Shores? Do you have Premium Pass or are you F2P?

Yeah, there's so much more being fleshed out too, I'm enjoying the game in it's current state, but mega excited for what the future holds for this MMO
Right now, I'm waiting for a couple QoL changes before I can see myself buying Premium.

If you sub for a month, lock in a name, do you lose name when you unsub?
This is what Im wondering as well.
Highly doubt it
