@@kakakoa - *Black Lightning* is a pretty good superhero show (season 3 is *great* , season 1 is almost as good, season 2 was kinda meh, and season 4 sucked) , but the ratings didn't justify that spinoff I guess... Like *Arrow* was a good show (at least seasons 1,2,5,8) but they still didn't do the "GA & the Canaries" spinoff, because pretty much everyone hated Oliver's kids: -Mia Smoak was like a Damian Wayne but without the good qualities -William was an even blander Felicity clone, and a good example of what goes wrong when the producers think that making a character gay means that they don't need any other characteristics/personality traits. Only thing that sucked about the spinoff getting cancelled is that we didn't get more of Katie Cassidy as Black Canary; after a playing an, IMHO, annoying chara in the first 4 seasons, she finally dies (yay!) and gets a chance to play Black Siren... and she kills it in that role! slowly turning to the light over the remaining seasons, thanks to Quentin & the Green Arrow family accepting her... ... and that's how you get a GOOD, developed Black Canary, a worthy successor to Sara's season 2 Canary. Anyway, what was I talking about? Oh, the cancelled *Painkiller* spinoff =/ Well, there had been worse spinoff ideas, that thankfully got cancelled too; like that *Birds of Prey* one with that terrible Arrowverse "Huntress" , back in the ol' days... *FIN*
They really should reconsider, Arrow, Flash, LoT were all successful because they kept releasing seasons for the fans and letting us see more than just a new character on screen. Painkiller is literally a ninja that never gets hurt, we deserve someone like that again tbh. No magic or sorcery, just pure skill and poison.
PainKiller made Black Lightning better; not saying it wasn't a good show because it was in every way good scenes, good old-school music mixed with new-school hip-hop. He just made you want to watch to see what he could do to others.

Khalil died after his bionic spine was ripped out by Tobias Whale. The A.S.A. kept him “alive” through a chip implanted in his brain that forced him to follow their orders. They called it the “Painkiller Program”. Jennifer and another meta on Black Lightning’s team went inside Khalil’s mind and put up a firewall to trap Painkiller. Painkiller eventually got out and would take over Khalil’s mind from time to time before Khalil eventually learned to keep him at bay, so their situation is a split-personality kind of deal now. A bit like Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost before whatever season of the Flash decided to make them two separate people. Painkiller is Khalil’s inner beast.

First Black Lightening was a great show and Jordan Calloway is a good actor. Khalil and Painkiller became my favorite character in the series.
