Interestingly enough, I came here from an article where Roger Waters was saying he didn't enjoy working with her. But he was all smiles on stage. Maybe aside from that he still appreciated her talent though. I enjoyed her singing this beautiful song. Her voice really was beautiful.

After Sinéad's passing I stumbled upon this performance and I was so blown away by her and The Band's vocals here (however brief it all may be) that I just had to get this concert and get it to play on a decent set-up. I can tell you that I got even more blown away hearing this bit on Dolby Surround. Played Live in Berlin years before and I don't remember it making such an impact then. Things have changed. Rest easy, Sinéad.

For me, this is the version that gives me the most chills. It's a symbolic concert, 8 months after the fall of the wall, in a symbolic place in Berlin Potsdamer Platz, first destroyed during the Second World War then separated in two by the wall during the Cold War. This is the concert I would have wanted to do if I had to do just one (And David Gilmour's 2016 Live in Pompei). So many great artists, great musicians and Sinead O'Connor who gives me goosebumps when she pushes a little... Thank you Sinead, gone too soon, may you now rest in peace. 🌿
It is obvious to me that Sinead digs her most intimate depths to achieve a rendering elevated by the proof she can find what is pertinent in this song, beyond the fact it's originally about a relationship boy Vs castrating mother. I hear a girl in dialogue with her smothering covert narcissist mother, it's exactly what I picture, and it is all due to her inexplicable transcendant, and so often displayed, ability to express truthfull innocent-like charisma in her singing voice.

TH-cam has its perks, that’s for sure 😊 I probably have that same thought at least once every day…as a kid I played most of my music until the various storage devices broke …and my kids are mad that I have no bright and shiny record collection to pass down, like many of their peers, so the other day I finally broke it down for them: Music wants to be heard, it BEGS to be heard. This was a huge Concert as commemoration of the fall of the Berlin Wall.. Its a masterpiece with incredible guests and stage work.
