Hi, Michelle! Some of my favorite teacher videos are the organizational and design ones, so I especially enjoyed your video. You have inspired me to take a look at some areas in my classroom that I could rearrange. I hope you are having a great week! 💜
Just a suggestion: 1) could you move the black book shelf in front of the large shelf making like a T of your library. 2) Are you utilizing both sides of the large shelf? If not, you could use one side for storage of things not necessarily needed often and put it up against the wall where your green heart sign was. Move the TV to where your large book shelf is now. Idk if you have enough space or not. 3) Could you move your library to the back of the room? Once again, I don’t remember what the back looks like. I’m sure by now you have it all figured out and probably works great for you and your kiddos. 😊
The new set-up looks great and functional. But you're right about seeing how it works with your students in the room. I was the bedroom rearranging kid as well. Lol I rearranged my tables yesterday, I really love the new layout, but I'll have to see how it truly works once my kids are in the room. It's fun to see and hear my kid's reactions. I usually get a couple of "you moved the tables again." And then followed by, "I like it. " Thanks for sharing!
I’m a math and science teacher as well, can you ditch the library if your kids have access to books in their ELA room or school library? I know it’s hard to let go but trust me… you’ll love the extra space!
You could try rotating the bookshelf with the colored bins so that it’s parallel with the tall bookcase. It would create a cozy reading area for your students. But definitely keep the classroom library. It’s so important for teachers to encourage students to read for enjoyment and having a relaxing space in the classroom can help them realize that reading can be a pleasurable activity.😊
Michelle , please consider making a video of how you use your IFP. I got one this year , not trained on it and learning as I go. Please show us how you use it
Why not use the double sided bookshelf as the library? The library shelf is still blocking access and space to the whiteboard? I would consider if the stuff in the double sided bookshelf is necessary? Just my 2 cents as a fellow teacher
I have an interactive panel too and I do have an issue where it is. I have it like you now in a corner. However, it still blocks part of my bulletin board and a bookcase!!! That’s after I move it from the center of my room which was in front of my whiteboards
I sure hope you move the library. For some reason I don’t like it right there. It should be in a corner. 😂 But I know you will get it together. No worries ❤❤❤
The library on front of the whiteboard would drive me nuts! I am a teacher for 25 years. Why don't you get rid of your bookshelves and take home, condense the books and only use the school's double sided bookcase. That is what I would do.

Not related to this video but… I know you love to give gifts. What do you give to your kids for the holidays?

Well Michelle,
It's always good to try new things and learn from student response whether it works or does not work.

What if you push the library bin cart over right under the bulletin board? That would give you a lot more space in front of the dry erase board.

I like it so much better! As a Math and Science teacher, do you really need a library?

When did you get the trapezoid desks?
Amazon wish list lakeshore and classroom videos
You should get a shorter bookcase and get rid of the tall bookcase.

How do you use your IFP
