Hello! Thank you very much for the video. It helps a lot. About the Chinese part, would they only test your Chinese speaking skills, or they also require an HSK certificate? Is HSK 5 enough to be recruited by a local company in China?

    • @ChinaAdmissions

Hi Jesslyn, thank you for reaching out to us :)
Yes, it is important to have a HSK certificate to apply for work in a local Chinese company.

Hum 🤨 it’s full of nice speeches making people dream about working in china but the reality is different.
Having master degree certainly make the work permit application easier but is there not also a 80 mark average requirement on ur master’s transcript to be able to apply for work permit using ur master degree? it’s much easier for foreigner graduate with major taught in english as MBA blablabla to get that 80marks average on their transcript than for those with major taught in Chinese and more major are taught in Chinese. it’s seems like the system doesn’t encourage foreigners to study in the country like local Chinese students because they have no so much requirements to work here after master degree.
Let suppose u graduate from master and got the 80marks on your transcript u also need to find a company that wants you and for some major that is not easy at all to say it’s almost impossible.
And if you find a company that agree to recruit you,the company should justify the need of recruiting a foreigner instead of a local graduate Chinese so only company in the business domain may be able to recruit a foreigner but those that studied hard scientific major taught in Chinese are not so welcomed to find a work here in china.
Knowing Chinese is not enough, i’ve passed the HSK6, i’ve graduated in signal and information processing taught in Chinese but ...................
Also after graduate the school will give you just one month stay permit to leave the country, how can you find a job with all the stress??? jobs that are not easy to find as i explained.

In my opinion, your video is kinda misleading, but understandable considering your position since your channel is called China admission.
China wants to improve its overall image as one of the best international destination choices for higher studies. So, they need to attract more foreign students and that is why they have this new policy. HOWEVER, the devil is in the details:
To apply for the one-year work visa, international students MUST secure employment with a CHINESE company in the field that MATCHES their degree.
How many foreigners work at Chinese companies in mainland China? Not many.
The majority of foreigners that live in China, are employees of their respective countries company(for which obviously you don't need to study in China ) and people working as a language teacher (a job where foreigners are more suitable than Chinese).
If you graduate from a Chinese university with a major taught in Chinese, you have no advantages at all in the job market.
Everything you can do, a Chinese student can do as well, plus your Chinese level will never be better than theirs.
Also, for a Chinese company to have foreigner employees, they have to do your paperwork for the visa and residence permit, they have to have good relations with the government, and if you make some mistakes the company image will be highly affected, so why in the world a Chinese company would go to all this trouble and choose an international graduate over a Chinese graduate if they are from the same university and with the same degree? What qualities international graduates have that a Chinese wouldn’t that is necessary for the job?
If you can present a convincing argument in your resume and interview in Chinese, you might just stand a chance, but that's rarely the case.

    • @ChinaAdmissions
      @ChinaAdmissions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

thank you for your thoughts. Yes the job market is different in China to other countries. There are definitely opportunities. You are right that its a good idea to work in industries where you have an advantage compared to local Chinese which is very competitive.
Cross border companies are a good first choice where you will have an obvious advantage. There are also lots of Chinese companies that are looking to expand internationally and looking for foreign talent to help them in international markets. As Chinese companies grow internationally there will be more and more opportunities.
