This is foam grip. A razor will take chunks out of the top layer 🥴 this is a fingerboard not a real board

I use a razer blade for my grip, that is for me the cleanest way :)
The absolute pristine way (I use my xacto knife)
Filing the edges down makes the grip tape cleaner

You can also do this with the trucks on, and have a solid grip. It lasts longer this way, because the little screw holes are wear points.

It is grate that that is *back to the start of the video* how you get a new grip for your finger board. It is just awesome editing working here. Just use a small metal file or the side of a razor knife. Makes your life so much easier. And try to save excess tape for non sliders or future gripjob work.

2. Run the edge with a piece of chalk or screwdriver 🪛
3. Razor blade the excess
This is the exact same way you grip an actual deck
Remove the old glue before sticking the new tape on top!!!

I used to use a bent paper clip to poke the holes for the screws, but now iv done it so many times I know exactly where the holes are
I prefer to flip the board over and cut the excess off woth a razor blade then sand the edges to refine it. But it takes less sanding down.

you can also use a techdeck instead of sandpaper
If you don’t have a nail file or sandpaper some how just use the old sandpaper grip

the absolute best fingerboard grip tape in my opinion is normal skate grip tape
So just act like it’s a regular skateboard, who could have ever guessed…

Something ive always wondered about skateboards and fingerboards is why not put the trucks on and then the tape so you dont need to punch out the tape
On a fingerboard it doesn't matter because it's a fingerboard. On a real skateboard it causes air bubbles and there's something called screws on the trucks that need to be accessible for very obvious reasons
