    Very Interesting video. Loved your gear, Wow factor. Hustler is one of my favourite jets. Great choice for a scale plane .

    Absolute Y-T gold my friend! Really enjoying this series. The Hawker Hunter belongs to, and is piloted by, Jan Sundberg. I have a couple of videos on my channel I was able to shoot of this amazing jet and pilot at the Hemet Jet Rally back in 2021. Keep 'em coming Chris!

    HA I moved from Columbus Ohio to The San Fernando Valley, Apollo field is a crazy place..!!!

    • @bretbecker90
      @bretbecker90 ปีที่แล้ว

      Small world! The Basin can definitely get crazy lol. If you can get comfortable flying in that environment though, you’re ready for competition flying with several flight lines!

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  ปีที่แล้ว

      Apollo definitely is, haha! Bret’s right though, if you are comfortable flying there, you can fly anywhere. 😊

    What an awesome choice of aircraft to build!

    Does the chute deployment during landing serve as a separate mechanical event??

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not

    • @bretbecker90
      @bretbecker90 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. While not a mechanical maneuver, the chute deployment can contribute to the overall realism score.

    I was unaware that there may be multiple flight lines going during your comp flight.
    With that being said if you were to perform a maneuver say a low fly past, or better yet a touch-and-go I assume that you would still be calling out your entry into the pattern to the other pilots?
    How is it judged if you call the start of a maneuver and have someone impede into your pattern? Or is it perhaps your spotter's job to guide you (so to speak) into position?

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, everyone is talking with each other and your spotter is especially important in letting you know the airspace status and letting the other flight lines know as needed. Also, you are talking with the judges the whole time, so if something comes up and you’re mid maneuver and someone comes right into your line, you can talk through needing inputs for collision avoidance etc. that being said, in my experience, having aircraft occupy the same airspace while maneuvering doesn’t actually happen very often. Also, you can plan your routine accordingly for traffic avoidance too meaning having your exits out of the maneuver space where practicable. That’s where it goes back to briefing the judges how you intend to fly the whole routine.

      That makes sense, thank you for clarifying that! Great video as always.

    Did I hear Bret say he lives in the Dayton area? I’m new here and looking for some areas to fly. Awesome craftsmanship guys!

      @@Thercgeek if he knows of some good flying sites, can you post them here? No big deal and no pressure. I’ve googled some but just curious. Thanks man and loving the Hustler.

      Welcome to the neighborhood! The Dayton Wingmasters is one of a few great clubs in the local area.

      @@bretbecker90 hey awesome bud. I will look into them! Recall seeing the name. I moved here from the Columbus area. Used to fly with some really skilled and talented pilots. Always enjoyed watching Terry Nitsch fly ANYTHING!
      Thanks bud. Maybe I’ll seek ya around? Have a great weekend!

      @@bretbecker90 hey bud. So I found the field today! Went out early this morning. A couple guys were out but there was a gate closing off the drive?
      I almost walked up anyway but didn’t. My old club in Columbus was actually not very kind to strangers and I didn’t want to offend anyone by walking up there.
      Is it always gated off? Should I just go in? Looks like a nice site!!! I mean no disrespect about your club at all either. I just know how mine was and it wasn’t always the friendliest to new people!!

    Hey Chris, great job on the gear! The planes it self is a work of art. I was wondering if it will have the same livery as they one you show as they beginning?
    And your dog is very cute!
