They traded OBJ to the Browns in return for Jabril Peppers ( one of the best safeties in the league ) plus a first and third round pick for whom Gettleman has taken Dexter Lawrence and Julian Love. They also traded Olivier Vernon for Kevin Zeitler. Considering the problems the Browns had with Odell, And the struggles they've had at the offensive line without Zeitler, The Giants obviously had the better end of those deals which is bound to benefit them in the long run. Show me where Gettleman Gooft.
I want to preface this by saying I don't think Gettleman should be fired, but where he's "gooft" has been with most of his free agent signings. Nate Solder is the worst contract in all of Football, Omameh was an atrocious signing and a big waste of money, Alec Ogletree was a trade but he stinks and he's also way over paid. There is talent on the team, qb pretty good, rb Pretty good, tight end pretty good, o line needs work, dl is ok, linebackers and secondary is dreadful. Coaching is horrible, gettleman drafts well but horrible in free agency but he has not had a alot of money to work with. But Giants were never sorry, Coughlin got fired for being 500. Mara has to stop hiring good ole boys and get some winners
