I’m 64 with arthritis in most of my joints, especially the hands… I’m seriously considering next (and probably last) bike with the automated gearshift/clutch such as now being offered on the GS1300 and MT09. I think the beauty of these solutions you can still select manual mode and change gears yourself but not have to hold the clutch in traffic etc. If this means being able to ride for longer then I’m all for it
Regarding the reporting of that tragic accident a few weeks ago, I felt the way it was reported inferred that the biker was responsible for the accident. Then a couple of days later it was reported that police were trying to trace the driver of a third vehicle that was believed to have caused the collision. Haven't heard any more.
I can't remember the last time both the rider and pillion were killed, usually where there's multiple fatalities it's riders travelling on seperate bikes (riding in a group?) There's clearly far more to the circumstances of that accident than have been released so far so we'll just have to wait and let the investigation run it's course. Personally I didn't think it disrespectful, the police were clearly witholding the names for reasons we're not privy too and they released the details of those tragically killed in the car because they were entirety innocent and I suspect to prompt anyone who witnessed anything to come forward and offer themselves as a witness.
Unfortunately most people don’t care or just want to blame the motorcyclist. I was t boned by an 83 year old woman. They way they treated me v her you would have thought I was the one who t boned her (she even left the scene to the crime to go hide something that was in her purse back at her home) I told the police that they just shrugged while my leg was completely smashed by the driver.
I was at The Bike Sanctuary on Saturday with my CF Moto 800MT and the new CF Moto sports bike look awesome! FYI next time you’re struggling with a TFT, stick something up on social media. The 800MT is very simple, you press set to enter the menu and hold down the up or down button for a few seconds to flick into the next section 😊 I’m sure one of the owners (including myself) could have pointed you in the right direction. Cheers for the bike news, always enjoy them. Thanks!
Thanks again Andy for bringing us the news. Just one point that I'd like to pick up on. Cameras. ! While the authorities will always make it sound like " It's for your safety/Convenience" etc. They really are all about control. In reality the fact that you can hardly ever see a policeman on the roads or streets now, is the reason phone use while driving has got worse. It's not like we don't pay enough tax to pay for them.
@@Sankara561 Are you really that much of a sheep. The fact that in the UK we have cameras on every street corner on every motorway, on every shop till and check out. Can you not see what this is all about? If not, then maybe you should do some research into finding out what the end game is. 15 Minute cities, pay by mile., carbon credit and dystopia is what they want, and it's naive (ignorant) replies like this that will get them what they want. Grow some and stand up, before they have us all on our knees.
That V-4 Panigale looks fantastic. Ducati has a video of it on track under the deft control of Pecco Bangaia, getting his elbows down on a streetbike! Amazing performance, far beyond us mortal riders. That RE 850 Dakar will be a winner, I am certain. More my speed these days. Great stuff Andy.
Nice one Andy. Regarding armour in motorcycle kit, I swapped out D3O ghost armour that came in my Klim Marrakesh jacket for the thicker standard D3O. It just felt more protective because of its thickness and covered more surface area. I also decided, because I could, to put two D30 back protectors into it. Surely two is better than one! Ps the Marrakesh is a super comfortable (overpriced) summer jacket but be warned you will still get very warm in it when temperatures rise above 25c. It does not flow air like a true mesh jacket because it’s not of a mesh construction. I’ve met the Mad Leprechaun too. A very nice chap.
Love the monthly news reviews. I love my C90’s semi auto box - ideal for the urban environment. However I agree with you it shouldn’t be ‘forced’ on bikers in general. It should be an option.
Semi-auto transmission as a “quicker” quick shifter makes some sense. But for myself, having a bike with a quick shifter, both up and down, I find unless I’m riding very aggressively as one would do on track that I almost never employ the quick shifter in ordinary course of a street ride. As you say, using the manual clutch engaged gear box smoothly and efficiently is a large part of the ride enjoyment for me on a brisk street ride.
I think an semi-automatic gearbox like the one on the Honda makes sense on any bike if you commute a lot (I don't think anyone enjoys being stuck in traffic and working the clutch) and ride in congested cities. As long as you have the option to shift the regular old fasioned way, I don't see a problem with it, especially if it's as little extra cost as the Honda offering. Basically, it's a quickshifter with an extra party trick.
Thanks again for your reviews of the z900rs se, which I bought. By the way, I got the “incompatible” SHAD P3 system with the 38x panniers. I just had to remove the ohlins preload bracket, drill a hole in the Shad frame and then mount the ohlins adjuster on that frame. Easy enough if you can use a drill 🤷🏼♂️
Your comments on protective armour were interesting. Motorcycle gear, such as expensive helmets and protective clothing, must be one of the few things in life that we spend ages choosing and huge amounts of money buying... in the hope we'll never have a need for it.
Thanks for the MCN news, one of the two main reasons I keep watching your channel is the MCN review and some of the tour videos so disappointing to hear the tour series don’t do that well. The touring ones that I really enjoyed so far was the short Europe trip and the Japanese tour so really looking forward to your next Europe tour coming up, hopefully you be able to get some of the magic from the really great trips from the past series. Europe is a two day 3 to 5k flight for us just to get on the Continent, rent an expensive bike before a holiday even starts so we really have to use some of your experience that you show to be able to have a rough plan on what’s possible in the time available. Nice to see the Mighty Goldwing doing what she was designed for👍
There is a synthetic fuel that turns CO2 back into a petrol equivalent. The very point of EVs is to remove that CO2 from the combustion process and allow nature to trap the stuff within the cycle of life, not allow it freedom to roan in the atmosphere (in basic language... you'll appreciate the subject is vastly more complex at a granular level). The advent of a new age of technology will, and does, bring a plethora of disappointments, and a mourning for lost experiences that the new tech has supplanted. I recall being transported by joy when my motorcycle could hit the magic 'ton', accompanied by tremendous noise and vibration. Today such an experience would put all but the hardiest of us off the idea completely. My point is that we're in a transition phase, where traditional technology, and it's manufacturers, still have a strong case to convince us (for whom amongst us wants to believe we might be mistaken?) that what we have done in our own tiny period of existence, ought not persist? My late father would recall everyone running out of their houses to watch a new fangled motorcar trundle past. He recalled watching Zeppelins over London, both the World Wars (he fought in the second one). Nothing from his life's experiences remain today as he experienced them, so bewailing the loss of noisy, vibrating motorcycles, will pass as easily as everything else has over the last hundred (plus a few) years. What follows will not be the same... at all. It with be simply different, not a version of the old. We're living through the most transformative and exciting time in the history of our species, a time of literally unbelievable changes. Everything we think we know is changing at such a speed, we'll live to see a new world materialise before our very eyes within our lifetime... even more so than my dear, late father. My long winded point is that fake fuels, hydrogen dead ends, and every other make-do-and-mend technology to try and keep old tech alive, is a passing phase, a nothing, an unimportance, a frivolity that foolish mankind resorts to in an effort to avoid the inevitable happening. You cannot uninvent the new, you can only overtake it with even newer. As consumers, not inventors, we buy stuff we rather like the idea of, we replace the old chesterfield with an Ikea, we're amazingly flexible creatures.
Hi Andy , Love your channel, i've been a follower for a couple of years now! please keep up the great content. I particularly like the bikers scam with Jeff & Dan and bike reviews & tours . Please keep up the great work . Kev
Bike manufacturers add auto options to broaden the appeal and lower barriers for many people, especially in places like the USA where most people only know automatic cars. I believe it is a boon for the sport, being more accessible is a win for us all. It's a totally relevant innovation. Personally believe it may have been better fit on a MT-07, but maybe it was easier to implement on a MT-09 first.
@@TheMissendenFlyergoodness I’m surprised, they are beyond biased!!!! They think Farage is worth platforming, but daren’t mention the disaster that was Brexit. Won’t have it on in my house.
Have been using Daytona GTX Roadstar boots for the last 20 odd years and swear by them. Not only do they come in different widths you can also send them back to Daytona in Germany for repair. My first pair were permanently borrowed by one of my sons who praises them for their comfort.
First of your bike news vids I’ve watched, nicely done, look forward to the next one 👍🏼 Regarding the MT09, I’m like you, bombing around the twisties and changing gears is part of the fun, so not having to change gears is strange in my minds eye - however, you’re never sure until you try the ride out, my minds eye could be wrong! 😅
Very interesting stuff Andy have to say I am very pleased to see Suzuki going down the route of alternative synthetic fuels which make a world of good sense and of course they are also a car manufacturer too . I am wearing protective jeans now for the first time and I must say they are a little cumbersome bit I do feel protected and would find the thinner stuff less so in my own mind for sure and feel the same for the light weight summer gear available these days but I am an old git 😉👌👍
I’m a huge fan of riding jeans Mal, especially the single layer type which offer the same protection but way more comfortable than the bulky type with the yellow linings, I suspect that may be the type you have?
The likes of Porsche has been on alternate fuels for a while, only issue at moment is the cost the tech is available but needs refined and cost reduced.
Nice MCN overview, always useful. I’ve been testing that Rheon armour in my Roadskin jeans over the summer and I have to say it’s extremely comfortable and also provides good ventilation. Better than D3O, imo.
@@TheMissendenFlyerI’ve conducted (highly scientific!) impact & abrasion tests involving hammers & sandpaper, rather than my own leg, and it seems to hold up at least as well as the other protective pads I’ve tried over the years. So yes😊
@@TheMissendenFlyerIf you follow MotoGP you will have seen CFMoto has had victories in Moto2 and Moto3. The 675 would be a great track bike, not as quick as the R6s etc , but should be fun to ride at an affordable price. In Asia I have seen suggested price of GBP4500.
Excellent review, embarrassed to say I agreed with pretty much everything you said bar the insults re the BL Sherpa, I have fond memories of this old workhorse. Can’t wait for the next tour video. Oh and BTW did Mrs Flyer have trouble with selecting gear with the Daystar boots? My wife couldn’t get used to the different ankle position and sadly sold them at a huge loss.
Always look forward to your reviews of the bike rags. I'm after a 400-500cc adventure bike. I rode the Enfield 450 which I thought was outstanding. Tried to get a demo of the CF Moto 450, not one demo in the country and my local dealer won't have one until next May!
For me the Ducati desert x if it wasn’t so tall for me, ,Enfield bit late to the party I like the Enfield brand but this model needs to be much lighter and up in power, it wouldn’t be secret 🤫 at the price can see the advantage in them ,great idea ,a manufacturer that is finally talking sense about future engines not electric, cf moto looks like a Triumph,
That non-Newtonian armour has a hidden benefit. If you buy it because it's light and comfy and is promised by science to be better than your heavy old tech, the very fact you have hidden doubts will encourage you to ride more circumspectly. It's the old Volvo cars syndrome, where said owners would drive as if invincible and not at risk like the rest of us proles. Ditto, the theory that fitting a spike aimed at your heart, instead of a horn-push (in a car) would actually reduce accidents for fear of the consequences even a small bump would incur.
Intersesting episode as ever. So, not a fan automatic bikes personally but I can see the value in certain situations. Fingers crossed Suzuki (& Ducati who have a similar project apparently) do crack the alternative fuel connundrum but that'll be no mean feat. AI cameras won't catch many bikers if it's only front facing & overhead. Result! Very interested to see the new Ducati V2. Cheers TMF, good timing for Saturday Brekky.
TMF , I watch an Indian channel called Abhinov Bhatt. He did his work commute on the new RE Guerilla. Looks like a really cool bike. Also his commute is like watching a video game. Traffic is unbelievable.
ThevRE Guerilla is a competitor in a sector of motorcycles that actually is growing and selling really well and attracting new riders, so its important you give one a review especially if you can do a back to back with the Speed 400 if only to inform us old geezers the bike is not allegedly aimed at.
There is a psychological aspect to the armour. If people feel better protected they will take less care. There was an expert many years ago on how to make people drive slower his response was to suggest a spear in the middle of the steering wheel aimed directly at the heart.
Check out Harry's Garage as he's been using synthetic fuel in his vehicles. Sounds like a brilliant idea as long as it gets cheaper to manufacture. Cheers Andy
I agree with you about automatic transmissions. I find them interesting but they're not for me. I tend to be enthusiastic about new technology that attempts to solve problems I'm having and shifting is not one of those. The downside of automatic transmissions is that they are likely to introduce higher maintenance costs. Replacing a clutch is something that I wouldn't give a second though to doing myself. Would I tackle work on a complicated automatic transmission in my garage? Probably not.
The only way that plant based fuels can be a practical option is to use marginal (semi-desert) land. Jatropha is a possibility. They can't be grown on land that's currently used for agriculture; we will all starve, looking at our replete Panigales, to death. In answer to your Ducati question, I'd make a chandelier out of my £30,000 bike and put daffs in the exhaust. I wouldn't mind having a go on one on the road, I'm not sure how much it costs to close the M1 for 30 mins, however.
IMHO, Ducati could have done whatever they wanted with the "R" model but should have left the "S" model with the SSSA which most would not hit the track. I could be wrong, but I think the DSSA on the "S" will come back and haunt them in sales. Moreover, The Price!!!!
I'm absolutely with you on the GS, it's never been a beauty but they now appear to be mistaking ugliness with character. It's the kind of bike only a mother could love.
So glad you gave Murt a mention on The Mad Leprechaun channel. He's a proper nice guy and gentleman. I'm completely with you on the looks of the new GSA. Briefly watched a technical review by Bennetts at BMW. Both journalists strangely 'loved' the bold new look. They then wonder why they were getting hammered in the comments section. Congratulations again to Mrs Flyer on passing her test. Hope you’re not putting more miles on that Kawasaki than she is.
No definitely not, I can’t get her off it!! And yes I saw that Bennett’s GSA review, it came across to me like the presenters didn’t believe themselves what they were saying, almost stifled sniggers - really weird, they even seemed to take the mick out of the BMW rep. I wasn’t invited to that first look and thus far BMW haven’t replied to me following a request for a press loan of the GSA…..
I find it hard to believe that a company like BMW would actively avoid constructive criticism - but I do get a feeling of "emperors new clothes" on some of the reviews I've watched.....
I think Ray Starkey is trying to be outraged. They rarely name the victims of accidents initially so that family can be notified first. It’s a sign of respect.
15:09 Daytonas and in particular gtx are excellent and incredibly comfortable boots but they don’t last long for the price if you only use them as a single pair of boots. Mine almost fell apart after 2 years of daily riding and the sole is finished so thin that it developed holes just from a short walking to and from from a bike! I am on the 3rd or 4th pair now. They did keep my feet dry despite looking like I’ve just finished a 3 months trip through the desert. Don’t buy them in the U.K. I was able to get them at half price online from Germany but now after brexit there will be a heavy tax on it.
I'm surprised to hear that - I have the GTX boots and they have stood up well to all my winter riding and my tours through Alaska and Japan.....still as good as new!!
Re the Royal Enfield Guerrilla. As a slight build 72 year old I would be quite happy riding one and would upgrade me from my Ninja 300 which got be back into riding.
Yes I would be quite happy riding one too - but it seems the target market is much younger than us (not that it stops older riders buying them of course!)
Hi! Big car manufacturers look at synthetics as well, and in short it‘s more like: no new CO2 is created, but the amount taken out of the atmosphere making it will come out of the exhaust burning it like with normal fuel. Has ofc advantages, but not all perfect ✌🏻
Love my Daytona boots. Got them in 1998 - yes, 26 years ago. They cost £125 then which I thought was a colossal amount to pay. Had them re-soled and heeled a couple of years ago. The pads on the top of each boot got a kind of plastic cancer and fell of in bits after about 10 years. They should see me out.
Couldn’t agree more, my Goldwing has a built-in satnav and it’s a game changer!

Why are motorcycle manufacturers bringing out their automatic transmission bikes now? It's simple really. The manufacturers can now see the writing on the wall for petrol engines. If the market goes to battery power in just a few years time to meet various governments' deadlines - which it now looks like it might do - they will need to pair their EV motors with automatic transmissions (just like in hybrid/electric cars), so it makes sense for the manufacturers to get their automatic transmissions out now and let the riders do millions of miles of testing for them before auto becomes the norm. BTW, thanks for bringing us the biking news - keep it coming! :)
On using a mobile phone in your car...What's the difference between a phone and these ever increasing touch instrument panels that are getting bigger and bigger every year...Really is it that different ??
I 100% agree - makes no sense does it!! I guess it’s not just the operation of the gadget but the actual holding a conversation on a telephone that is part of the distraction.
The theatre of taking a full-on sports/race bike for a 20-minute ride to the cafe can be a special experience. So I wouldn't say no to a v4 Panagale on the road. For day to day use, though.. no thanks :)
I think the current interest in automatic gearboxes is to lure potential new people into motorcycles rather than current owners. Some genres definitely fit the option of having one, tourers, adventure bikes and maybe 125cc for learning on? But as you mentioned, MT09 doesn't suit it nor would anything similar.
There's one of these cameras down the road from where I live, been there a year and still people are nystified when they get caught on their phones, not wearing a seat belt, or just speeding. Squealing that its a rip off, the answer is, stick within the law, its there to make everyone safe.
I think the bikes are going forward for newer riders or older ones or folk like me with a dodgy wrist lol. I had a go on the Hondas with E Clutch and found it amazing, guess Yamaha have gone the same way, might sell more for easy riding. I’d like to have a go in the MT09 as it will have a bit more poke than the Honda 650’s
Andy - Porsche (owned by VAG like Ducati) have heavily invested in E-fuels with the first plant in South America, so a big player is involved. F1 will be running it next year too. It’s carbon neutral if the hydrogen needed is produced from solar as it mixes the hydrogen with carbon extracted from the atmosphere. I’m astonished it’s being ignored by governments as though batteries are the only answer.
When it comes to the CF MT or even the new RE 450 Sherpa I am extremely thankful for those buyers who like to jump in boots and all as product testers and enjoy being the first to own the latest and greatest. I am always much more pragmatic and buy the last of a proven model with all the bugs removed knowing I can confidently approach my purchase with history and many millions of consumer miles on my side. CF etc might be great bikes but at the moment it's very much a leap of faith
Well done Andy. . Saves me subscribing to MCN!! My partner says she'll have the Panigale V4. . And she's still not forgiven you for selling the 899 ! 😂
I do miss seeing the beautiful 899 in my garage, but I have to say I do not miss riding it one bit! The Kawasaki I replaced it with on the other hand I cannot get enough of and to my eyes doesn’t look too shabby either…
Great video Andy, but the real news is biking, as we know it will be finished within 10 years unless we the biking community do something about it & quickly, its time for influencer's to band together with manufacturers and organise some push back against net zero, otherwise our passion and way of life is doomed, we are not the problem.
@@TheMissendenFlyer suppose there’s got to be an element of trust when new stuff comes out, the previous armour was very substantial but it was so uncomfortable when off the bike..
The D30 level 2 armour in my Rukka Armas jacket and trousers worked after an impact and slide due to a diesel spill. I havent tried D30 level 1 Ghost armour yet. Roadskin offer the Rheon as an add on in their trousers.
automatic gearboxes are probably in demand from Asia where people happily use them on PCX and ADVs and so the move to larger bikes (without all our licensing and testing) is probably logical
I recently took a NC750X DCT out on demo, at first i was very skeptical but i took to it like a duck to water, fabulous bike. Unfortunately like so many bikes these days although the seat height is absolutely fine when you get on board, the arse end of the bike made it for me, in my seventies, very difficult to get onto. I bruised all the inside of my right leg and pulled a muscle. I loved the bike but it just didn't love me.
Daytona, of course, also makes the M Star and the Max Sport, which are the male versions of the raised heel boots. Very good they are, too. Also, I put heel wedges from Amazon in my Roadstar boots, which effectively lowered my seat by 15mm and works very well for about £6.
Booked a test ride on the guerilla 450 next week... I'm hoping I don't like it or I'm going to have to start selling body parts....and I don't think I'll get much...
Andy, what’s you stance on leather gear? I usually wear textile cause I run warm. Got a leather jacket to trial the other week .its only been 16 - 20 degrees max here (Ireland 🇮🇪) and already I’m melting 🫠 really want to like it but… meh.
Yes I think these days textiles are so good. They effectively make leather redundant for riding on the road. I think there’s still a case for full leather suits on track but otherwise textiles are the way to go, that said on occasion I do wear leather jackets for style purposes, if say I’m riding one of my retro bikes.
Just a minor point. Hydrogen "fuel cells" use hydrogen to directly make electricity to power electric motors etc. Those fuel tanks on the Kawasaki are to supply hydrogen to burn in the engine to produce mechanical power.
Check out JCB. They have been working hard over the last few years to develop hydrogen powered equipment. The fuel tanks on these fit in the same space as diesel tanks.

The Daytona M Stars are the blokes version of the ladies boots Mrs TMF has, they're probably the best boots I've ever owned.
I'm not convinced I can going by recent performances!!!! :0)

Your comments on protective armour were interesting. Motorcycle gear, such as expensive helmets and protective clothing, must be one of the few things in life that we spend ages choosing and huge amounts of money buying... in the hope we'll never have a need for it.
Yes - a bit like insurance
The boots, Daytona's are great. Have street and adv versions. Best to me. All good Andy. Safe rides and flying
Thanks, you too!
Bike news on a Saturday! Just before a ride out to the Peak District what a win!!
Nice day for it too, enjoy your ride.
Nice to see the Mighty Goldwing doing what she was designed for👍
Delighted you like the tours! I think you’ll love this next one - was great to properly bond with the big ‘Wing.
Always enjoy your real world perspectives!
Pleased to hear that Michael - thank you!
The wisest words I have read on you tube this year 👏🏻👏🏻

Bike manufacturers add auto options to broaden the appeal and lower barriers for many people, especially in places like the USA where most people only know automatic cars. I believe it is a boon for the sport, being more accessible is a win for us all. It's a totally relevant innovation. Personally believe it may have been better fit on a MT-07, but maybe it was easier to implement on a MT-09 first.

Have been using Daytona GTX Roadstar boots for the last 20 odd years and swear by them. Not only do they come in different widths you can also send them back to Daytona in Germany for repair. My first pair were permanently borrowed by one of my sons who praises them for their comfort.
Yes you're leaning on an open door here - I love mine too....
Great watch as usual mate
Always welcome on MWM on a Wednesday 8-9pm

In OZ we have had cameras detecting mobile phone use and seat belt wearing for many years.
Nice MCN overview, always useful. I’ve been testing that Rheon armour in my Roadskin jeans over the summer and I have to say it’s extremely comfortable and also provides good ventilation. Better than D3O, imo.
Good stuff! … but do you trust It!?
@@TheMissendenFlyerI’ve conducted (highly scientific!) impact & abrasion tests involving hammers & sandpaper, rather than my own leg, and it seems to hold up at least as well as the other protective pads I’ve tried over the years. So yes😊
Interesting update as usual. "To old for a Royal Enfield" 😀😀😀Never mind, It's nice to see a bike for younger riders.
Indeed it is!
I read MCN every week, I still love you going through it though. Maybe the Jackanory effect. Once upon a time there was a CF Moto......
Really pleased to hear that David!
In the USAhere ,no magazine here,so it's like world news to me
@@TheMissendenFlyerIf you follow MotoGP you will have seen CFMoto has had victories in Moto2 and Moto3. The 675 would be a great track bike, not as quick as the R6s etc , but should be fun to ride at an affordable price. In Asia I have seen suggested price of GBP4500.
Re Ray Starkeys letter to MCN, I think I read an Individual not related to the tragic deaths had been arrested, I’ve heard nothing since.
What a shame! Yes Mrs Flyer has got used to them (they are the only boots she has ever ridden with so knows no different!).....
Always look forward to your reviews of the bike rags. I'm after a 400-500cc adventure bike. I rode the Enfield 450 which I thought was outstanding. Tried to get a demo of the CF Moto 450, not one demo in the country and my local dealer won't have one until next May!
I'm hoping to try one soon!
I had the privilege to meet the mad leprechaun (Murt) at a local bike meet, really nice guy, his channel is well worth a look 👍
Very cool!
Yes a interesting point and you're not the first to mention it (including the steering wheel spike!)....
Glad you enjoyed it rage rider - always good to hear from you!
Same applied to seat belts in cars when they came out,
Check out Harry's Garage as he's been using synthetic fuel in his vehicles.
Thank you Mr Flyer 👍
My pleasure!

@@TheMissendenFlyer I suspect BMW are in damage limitation mode, looking for channels to promote the 'emperors new clothes'
Always look forward to this......thank you.
Delighted to hear that Laurie, thanks for watching once again.
After 5 miles I would be screaming to get off of that opening Ducati.

I saw the RE Guerilla up close last week and its a real looker but i still have reservations about a 40bhp motorcycle.
We are supposed to get the CF Moto 450 MT here in the U.S. in October. I have to say, I really am interested in seeing one.
Please check out Keeway 125cc V Cruise.. would love to see you reviewing it.. wanna know your thought about it ;)
15:09 Daytonas and in particular gtx are excellent and incredibly comfortable boots but they don’t last long for the price if you only use them as a single pair of boots.
A sherpa is also a tough Himalayan helper …
..... and the name of a van made by British Leyland in the 80s and 90s😉
I always look forward to these video’s , being Australian, we dont get the MCN here. This means that do not miss out.
Great to hear.
Hi! Big car manufacturers look at synthetics as well, and in short it‘s more like: no new CO2 is created, but the amount taken out of the atmosphere making it will come out of the exhaust burning it like with normal fuel. Has ofc advantages, but not all perfect ✌🏻
Agree with the Ducati comment, I sold my 2020 V4 6 months back and bought a 765 ST Moto2. Much better for road riding
Glad we concur on that Andrew, thanks for watching.
They are good, aren’t they Steve…..
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes. Just think, next time you need a new pair of boots, you'll be in your seventies!
Ref Enfield..I think a bike with built in sat nav is a sure fire winner. My view is that it should be offered on all new bikes..so handy !
That is a view I’ve heard a few times now, thanks for watching and for stopping by. All the best!
It's not even the reps on calls, it's the young women texting and scrolling tiktok and snapchat, completely oblivious to everything around them
I use non newtowian armor in my riding jeans. They are incredibly thin but the physics makes sense
Andy are you looking at reviewing any electric scooters as just seen the Silence SO1+ from Spain - it’s a belter and quick as you like!
No plans currently….
@@TheMissendenFlyer get yourself on one Exeter Rider has done one and was impressed!
Agreed all round.....
Those cameras may seem like a good thing but beware for what you wish ... you may get it !!!!.
Hi Andy just a note if it makes the Sherpa name more acceptable it was of course the name of a quite successful Bultaco trials motorcycle too.👍
Good point!
In blue 👍🏻
Andy - Porsche (owned by VAG like Ducati) have heavily invested in E-fuels with the first plant in South America, so a big player is involved. F1 will be running it next year too. It’s carbon neutral if the hydrogen needed is produced from solar as it mixes the hydrogen with carbon extracted from the atmosphere. I’m astonished it’s being ignored by governments as though batteries are the only answer.
Love these videos, it's like Sky News news review without the politics!
Glad you like them!
Re the automatics - could it be for the up & coming youngsters who are taking their CBT's & Tests on Electric/Automatic machines?
Maybe!
Another great mcn review.. Thank you.. Id like to see what you think of the benelli trk 702x. Its a chinese bike but is basically a kawasaki versys.
Brilliant.. thanks for that 😊
My pleasure 😊
Just got some of that custard fisting armour from Roadskin this week, much more comfortable than the original stuff!
Ha ha, need to get some of that 😂
Nice one
Yes, it’s clever stuff isn’t it Alan…. The question is do you trust it?
@@TheMissendenFlyer suppose there’s got to be an element of trust when new stuff comes out, the previous armour was very substantial but it was so uncomfortable when off the bike..
The D30 level 2 armour in my Rukka Armas jacket and trousers worked after an impact and slide due to a diesel spill. I havent tried D30 level 1 Ghost armour yet.
Roadskin offer the Rheon as an add on in their trousers.
Glad it worked!
automatic gearboxes are probably in demand from Asia where people happily use them on PCX and ADVs and so the move to larger bikes (without all our licensing and testing) is probably logical
Oh dear!!
I’m all for the cameras , I’ve had so many people drifting and nearly causing a head on when clearly on their phone
Yes me too....
Daytona, of course, also makes the M Star and the Max Sport, which are the male versions of the raised heel boots. Very good they are, too.
Also, I put heel wedges from Amazon in my Roadstar boots, which effectively lowered my seat by 15mm and works very well for about £6.
Thanks for that info John, I didn’t realise that!
Booked a test ride on the guerilla 450 next week... I'm hoping I don't like it or I'm going to have to start selling body parts....and I don't think I'll get much...
Good luck
Andy, what’s you stance on leather gear? I usually wear textile cause I run warm.
Got a leather jacket to trial the other week .its only been 16 - 20 degrees max here (Ireland 🇮🇪) and already I’m melting 🫠 really want to like it but… meh.
Yes I think these days textiles are so good. They effectively make leather redundant for riding on the road. I think there’s still a case for full leather suits on track but otherwise textiles are the way to go, that said on occasion I do wear leather jackets for style purposes, if say I’m riding one of my retro bikes.
Im an old fxxt and test rode the guerrilla, its a very fun bike, bit crammed but you can get a raised seat
Nice!
Just a minor point. Hydrogen "fuel cells" use hydrogen to directly make electricity to power electric motors etc. Those fuel tanks on the Kawasaki are to supply hydrogen to burn in the engine to produce mechanical power.
Yes you’re not the first to point out my error! Thanks for watching and for dropping by!
Check out JCB. They have been working hard over the last few years to develop hydrogen powered equipment. The fuel tanks on these fit in the same space as diesel tanks.
