Great job. Even though you consider yourself to be "just a fan" you obviously don't watch our game like your average fan but a student of the game. We know many people watch the game and it's touchdowns, big hits, and the "go team" attitude. They observe from a very basic perspective. It's obvious from your channel that this is not the case as far as you observation. Your breakdown of film and the in depth analysis of schematics is beyond the casual fan whose in a fantasy league with an office pool jackpot at stake. That's fine but the content you provide is more advanced than those guys. You don't have to be from a "football family" like Bill Belichick or be a former Bill Walsh or Nick Saban assistant to understand the intracacy exhibited on the gridiron. If that was a prerequisite our sport would'nt exist. Your passion for our sport always is indicated in your presentation and that carries over to your study and knowledge of football. Keep doing what your doing and we look forward to more content in the future and I did'nt even comment on the advantages of play action in your offense. I will say that Boomer Esiason was probably the best play action quarterback that I've witnessed in my 43 years of watching football. Take care.

One weakness I've noticed on my favorite team is on early downs a two down run stuffing linebacker might be on the field. Even if the player successfully figures out the play is a pass, he loses a half a step on the receiver. When the LB was already a liability in coverage anyways it makes the situation even worse. So play action can work even when the defense isn't fooled.

Only weakness with PA is it usually assumes the matchup is there so there isn't much if that first read isn't there
So it is a boom/bust play usually
    Same with RPO
building a passing offense around pure drop back passing while letting PA, RPO supplement it is IMO the most effective.

This is very beneficial for the wr but the entire series of plays aroubd it is really more beneficial for running backs and olineman more than anything else. The qb is reduced because he has to turn his back losing the ability to judge momentum of the defenders. He can only see seperation space but not closing speed . Its a qb cebtric concept and scheme but its hard for the qb its not helpful like you might think .it ask way more of the qb than anyone else.
This goes back to bill walsh borrowing from marv levy creating a scheme we call west coast run zone. The zone blocking itself came out of Lombardi and the way to stop 4 -3 dl from tom landry in dallas.
Mike Shanahan and many others now have addee nuence and layers on top of everything.
You can invert it into a pass zone allocating more to the pass in order to free up the run also.

It’s effective until you have your backup tight end try and block Hasaan reddick in the nfc championship game

A more veteran QB than Purdy would have stepped up in the pocket and still made the throw. Reddick wasn’t meant to be completely blocked just slowed down.

it always freezes the backs but if the defensive line makes penetration, you get a big loss.
