    nice tutorial- It appears to me that the easiest way to accurately measure the eye-hole center to center should be this = measure from the outside ot leafspring{rolled portion) to the opposite side's inside edge of leafspring(rolled portion).

      Thanks Douglas! That's actually a pretty good suggestion for getting somewhat accurate measurements if the leaf/ leaf pack is still on the trailer. The problem is that most people will be measuring with it bolted into place so it will not be as easy to obtain precise measurements. Regardless, they will be able to obtain a relatively close measurement and from there they can select the appropriate leaf spring pack for their trailer's specs.

    Nice video, I just did the same thing for my Tracker Pro160 trailer. I drove it around the neighborhood and the difference was noticeable immediately. Like you my original u-bolts still worked out, had a little bit of an issue with the shackle bolts. One of the nuts stripped out and have to get some more. Luckily I had some lock nuts that fit, good for now but will replace with OEM hardware. Have you had any issues since upgrading to 3 leaf? Thank you!

      Zero issues with the tri-leaf setup since install. I always mod for reliability and not short term improvement. I'm glad that the setup is working out for you and just know for the future that you will have no issues as well. It's crazy how much of a difference it makes in over handling of the rig right?! Thanks for taking the time to check out the video and I'm glad to see I could help you out in modding your rig!

      @@extremeboating7347 Good to know! I do have a question about the tightness of shackles and the bolts, I've read that there should be a little play in them and to not over tighten so they cannot move. What are your thoughts on this? I'm reading mixed advice on the web. thanks again.

    • @extremeboating7347
      @extremeboating7347  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The front bolt gets tightened the rear gets left with some looseness on it. So the shackle can move allow the leafs to move around.
      If you have any doubts, emulate the way it came exactly from the factory. They installed things on the trailers.

      @@extremeboating7347 okay understood. Before I took it all apart I made a note of that, one side had some play to it, the other was tightened up haha! Thank you

    Do you have part numbers for what you purchased? I have a 2022 Pro170, and I’m wondering if the same parts will work since they are almost the same boat with the exception of the casting deck.
    I’m also wondering if you could let us know where you jacked up the trailer and approximately how long did the swap take?
    Thanks!

      Are you wanting a video on all that or a simple explanation over the comments? I'd be happy to help you out, but it sounds like there is a lot you want covered, and so I'm not sure in which way would be best to tackle what it is you are needing/ asking.

      @@extremeboating7347 I think I can figure out where to jack the trailer, so no worries on that. Do you think the same parts would work with a 170 trailer, and how long did it take for you to complete the swap? Thanks in advance.

    • @extremeboating7347
      @extremeboating7347  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a beam right in front of the axle that I slipped my trucks bottle jack under to use to lift it.
      Yes the same parts would work without question. The swap overall will take about an hour or less for both sides if you know what you're doing and if you take your time. It's a very easy swap to do and I contemplated maki g a video showing folks how to do it, but figured there were already enough videos on YT showing how to do that so I skipped out on that part and just did it in peace.

    Does this add height to the trailer?

    • @extremeboating7347
      @extremeboating7347  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does. It makes the overall height of the trailer and the boat on the trailer slightly taller than OE.

    Were did you get your leaf springs

    • @extremeboating7347
      @extremeboating7347  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sourced them from a local trailer supply store. I didn't really talk about it in the video because you can usually obtain them by providing the measurements and specs of yours and the type of springs (or the ones I supplied in the video if you have a Classic XL) to a trailer supply store local to you.
      If you'd like the name of the spot that I got them from, however, I'm sure they'd be more than willing to ship them out to you in a different state.

      @@extremeboating7347 did you just tell em you needed 3 leaf 1750 lbs 26 inch springs?

    • @extremeboating7347
      @extremeboating7347  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @TheFlynxman yes sir. I told him I wanted to buy a triple leaf pack set. These are the specs I gave them and this assumes you own a Bass Tracker Classic XL. Other trailer spring sizes will vary.
      - 26.25" long springs
      - 1 3/4" wide
      - Double eye leaf
      - Triple spring pack
      - 9/16" standard holes
      - 1750 lbs per spring
