Our house is less than 5 feet from the sidewalk so our front flowerbed gets a lot of salt. I would try to plant "aggressive spreaders" but they would only last a year or two. Finally I rescued some peonies from the house torn down next door, and they are fabulous. I always think that Peonies are the plant world's drunken prom Queens - gorgeous beauties falling all over 😂
Thank you for allowing us to view into your magical room of gorgeous creations. 😻Honestly, I had no idea how silk flowers were created. What a total treat !!! 👍😻😻😻👍
Every time I watch you make flowers, I am reminded of what a HUGE part of getting a Master Seamstress degree is just flower making. These are so wonderfully dark. Love the vibe. Also, watching the gluing process is kind of mesmerizing. And you didn't appear to get all sticky and gunky . . .it's witchcraft, I know.
Love peonies, they are so glorious. I have 3 in my garden, one with very large 'blousey' blooms (pink) that causes me heartache each summer as I anxiously scan the weather, and hope that the rain keeps away for a few weeks while it is bloom. I love it so much.
In the cake biz you always have to let the client know if the cake decor is edible or not. A surprisingly high percentage want to try to eat the flowers lol. That brown and red silk is lush, gorgeous flowers.
Lovely. All the flowers are so very beautiful. I at present have no need for silk flowers but still want to try making flowers! Making paper flowers was all the rage in the 60's and 70's. It might have been a mandatory skill! I have dim memories of making them. Though I like yours much better
They are So Beautiful! And they will last for years! I have a friend who likes to wear a flower in her hair for special occasions. Once I get my craft area set up, perhaps I can make some flower clips for her. I think she will really like that. Everyone needs a little joy in their life. Thank you for showing us how silk flowers are put together.🪺🕊🫖☕️🐈⬛📚🦋🥧
I love those peonies, they look so beautiful. Also all those flower making videos were so calming to watch for me. I would never try to make flowers, because I would burn myself for sure, however I greatly enjoyed watching you do it ❤
You can use polyvinyl alcohol crystals dissolved in water to make a really amazing antifray solution too, which is what they use in the ateliers in Paris. Yours are just as exquisite ❤
You are very talented. I enjoy watching you videos both here and on Patreon. I have definitely learned a lot and hope to one day be half as talented as you are.
There are types of PVA wood glue that dries much much quicker than normal crafting PVA. That may give you less time to gently contemplate your flower making process. These are stunning, hopefully one day I will get round to making some now Iv been shown how.
Such beautiful flowers! You're making me want to create something just so I can add silk flowers to it. I don't know that I have your patience to make my own though. I'd probably just end up buying pre-made silk flowers lol
Peonies are also one of my favorites. Knowing where to iron the curves and counter curves seems to be key in making these look organic. I thought it was just a little ironing on one side before seeing you do it. You do a great job with it. Could you pin the petal in place, curve the end of the wire and hang it on a line to dry between petals, or would that just make it more complicated?
Fascinatingly. You have really done a lot of research on making silk flowers. I won't be making any but I really enjoyed watching you. I did price some silk flowers at Joann and was shocked how expensive they are.
I love peonies and these are stunning. Watching you work with the fabric it seems like the PVA doesn’t affect the fabric’s hand too much. Is that a fair statement?
Gorgeous flowers a d dress! Did you just bend the wire 90° at the base of the petals, and whip stitch it to the dress? Couldn't quite tell how they were being sewn on.
Your flowers turned out well and I doubt that the couture method you mentioned would make much of a difference. The flowers are far nicer than what I've found in the stores. If they weren't, I wouldn't praise your work.
The couture techniques are not compatible with the maximalist aesthetic that many of us go for as long as we are also interested in instant gratification. If we were comfortable with taking a full year to complete the flowers on top of the dress itself, then perhaps. But I don’t think I can keep my interest and energy focused on a single project for that long. The perils of adhd and costume

They turned out so beautiful! I need to keep reminding myself that I absolutely do not need another time consuming hobby…but they are gorgeous ❤
Thank you! They did take over my entire life for like a month so be careful 😅
Peonies are my favorite flowers. So fragrant. I have a bunch of them! Only problem is they don't last long enough!
Thank you for allowing us to view into your magical room of gorgeous creations. 😻Honestly, I had no idea how silk flowers were created. What a total treat !!! 👍😻😻😻👍
Thank you Dolores!
Nature is a reminder that something doesn’t have to be “perfect” to be perfectly wonderful. Thank you for sharing ❤
Those peonies 🤩 my 87 year old mum is treasuring her peonies in her garden and they look just like yours ❤❤
We have one peony plant in our garden and it only makes 1-2 flowers a year but I treasure them for sure!
"...but I'm impatient". Me too. It's amazing what aspects of an epic project our brains will or won't tolerate, based on how much we want the outcome.

Thank you Michelle! Where can I get a master seamstress degree? I want one 😂✨

The blooms are a fleeting gift!
Gorgeous!!! Thank you for all your time and dedication to show and teach us how you make everything!
Thank you Elizabeth!
They are beautiful on the dress. Beautifully created and arranged.
Thank you Gail!
So stunning! Peonies are wonderful flowers. This gown is a real work of art! Love it. You are very talented.
Thank you!
These are my favorite of all the flowers so far. Apparently I also like peonies 😆
Thank you!

Thank you Natalie! I would love to get better at making frosting flowers one day, I haven't made a cake in ages ✨

Thank you Marcco!!
a fabulous lunchtime craft video!
Peonies are my favorite! I can't wait to find a use for silk peonies!
Peonies are my favorite flower. I had several plants lining my driveway. After I moved I was sorry I didn't bring some with me. Yours are beautiful!
Thank you! I would love to have peony plants 🤩
I love those peonies, they look so beautiful. Also all those flower making videos were so calming to watch for me. I would never try to make flowers, because I would burn myself for sure, however I greatly enjoyed watching you do it ❤
Thank you Noel! I can confirm that I did indeed burn my finger on my left hand quite badly and now have a scar so...fair!
@@TheClosetHistorian Let's say, I will learn from your mishap and just won't touch it 😂
Habotai silk works really really well too
You can use polyvinyl alcohol crystals dissolved in water to make a really amazing antifray solution too, which is what they use in the ateliers in Paris. Yours are just as exquisite ❤
Thank you! I do believe that is what PVA glue is made from as well so that makes sense!
Definitely my favorite flower also!! They look great !!
Thanx for making and sharing the video!!
You are very talented. I enjoy watching you videos both here and on Patreon. I have definitely learned a lot and hope to one day be half as talented as you are.
Thank you so much Christine!
You are so talented. I can't wait to see what you do to your future new home.
Thank you!!

These look amazing. Such beautiful flowers.
Thank you!
My fave flower too 😊

Thanks Bianca. Exquisite!

Could you pin the petal in place, curve the end of the wire and hang it on a line to dry between petals, or would that just make it more complicated?
Thank you! They really need the tension of fingers to press just right as the glue sets I fear 😅
Very pretty 😀
Fascinatingly. You have really done a lot of research on making silk flowers. I won't be making any but I really enjoyed watching you. I did price some silk flowers at Joann and was shocked how expensive they are.
Thank you! Plus the flowers at Joanns are not real silk they are polyester, so really best when on sale 😅😂
Beautiful!
I love peonies and these are stunning. Watching you work with the fabric it seems like the PVA doesn’t affect the fabric’s hand too much. Is that a fair statement?
These are beautiful! Now I need to go make some but I do not see your link to the stamens on Amazon? Did I miss it?
Thank you! I forgot! Will go grab that link now...
Gorgeous flowers a d dress! Did you just bend the wire 90° at the base of the petals, and whip stitch it to the dress? Couldn't quite tell how they were being sewn on.
Thank you Christa! I bent, looped, intertwined the wires as needed yes and then tacked them down!
These look amazing! How much fabric do you use for each flower, though? Or how many flowers will one yard make?
Thank you! 1 yard made about 6-8 flowers depending on the size of flower as I made 2 sizes one slightly larger than the other!
Sangat cantik ❤
Your flowers turned out well and I doubt that the couture method you mentioned would make much of a difference. The flowers are far nicer than what I've found in the stores. If they weren't, I wouldn't praise your work.
