It is neither a corset nor stays that you have, it is a bodice. A beautiful bodice at that, I absolutely love the mushroom theme! Corsets and stays are much more structured than your bodice appears to be. ~Chris
I was stressing over how to up my renfaire costume game, This has calmed me down so much! You’re very good at breaking things down into clear steps. I also never knew there was a tool to use to bunch the skirts up, I thought I had to buy one that came like that or try to pin it! I’m definitely saving this video to my costuming folder, Thank you!
This is insanely helpful! I have always wanted to put together a ren fest outfit like this, but I’m not very crafty and I felt too intimidated to know where to start. Now, I feel like I can totally do this!!! I’m so excited for the next ren fest!
Your corset/stays i would call a bodice personally. 😂 but I also am just guessing lmao Anyway, very nice vid. I usually crack before faire season and end up wearing faire-like fashion to work and stuff because I have 0 patience, and this was great inspo. I know you said you attend the NC faire, so it might always be nice weather, but it would be fun to see how you personally (would) tackle cool weather vs warm weather faire looks. Edit to add: if you want nicer elf ears, I'd suggest ones from Aradani or Elven Caravan. Thats where I get all of mine.
Oh wow thank you!! And ur so right bodice sounds way better 😂 I can definitely do a video for colder weather ren Faire outfits!! Thanks for watching ❤️
stays/ bodice is the term you're looking for . depends on the era and the country of origin. I find belts at the tops of your hip bones or nearer natural waist are ideal - when they are at midrise to lowrider pants level hips level they hurt , dig into me and Im adjusting my mug and pouch all day .
Love this video so much!! Also, saying this as a historical fashion enthusiast, these look closer to what stays are than what corsets are. Although bodice is a nice umbrella term too haha, this one looks so pretty too! ❤
Love these tips! My friend and I have just been getting into going to Ren Faires and this is super helpful ❤ Also if you're looking for good quality elf ears, I highly recommend Aradani Costumes! I got my first pair from them almost a year ago now and I absolutely adore them, they take a little extra time to apply, but easily last all day and look stunning.
This made making ren faire outfits so much less scary (I’m just getting into it now after wanting to for a while) and I think I have that same brown skirt!
@@yssirhc296 great question! Honestly no matter what time of year Ren faires are pretty muddy or dusty haha so I would recommend some good boots and if u plan to stay for the whole day then wear comfy ones too!
Thanks for letting me know that there are no rules to making your outfit (well besides wear underwear lmfao) I was stressing like "can I be a witch...is that appropriate?"

Love that bodice!
Whered you get that shirt from? And that bodice?
The bodice is from Costurero Real and the shirt is from Amazon! It’s linked in my bio!

Its a stay,a corset has a different design! Either way u look beautiful
Bodice … usually have the lace ups … other than corset or stay
