I love ajr's music because they show others that they aren't alone. I believe it was Ryan (the main songwriter for ajr) that mentioned that they show the embarrassing stuff so that others dont feel embarrassed. it amazes me how people dont like ajr
so many people complain about how generic they are, but rather, they are great about making songs that many people relate to, despite them being topics people rarely talking about.
The cool part about this song is that it's the first song in its album (The Maybe Man), and it acts as a sort of table of contents for the whole thing; every stanza represents a different song from the album. For example: "Wish I was a stone, so I couldn't feel You'd yell in my face, it'd be no big deal But I miss the way we make up and smile Don't wanna be stone, I changed my mind" Is in reference to Touchy Feely Fool, which comes next on the album. I highly recommend listening to the whole album, cause it really helps the meaning of it all come full circle
