I do find it funny that Lemon lost mostly due to the enemies. And that he even managed to win so many despite using a keyboard. Honestly maybe starting with say 15 or 20 pikmin would have worked instead of 50.

Honestly, it's pretty surprising how Pikmin Battle Mode content never really took off online. Got such a rush of nostalgia from watching this. I played the hell out of that mode with my younger sister back in the days. I would use the handicap feature to give her more starting Pikmin so she didn't struggle with the enemies of course, since she didn't play the singleplayer mode as much as I did. Funny enough, she never used her numbers advantage to rush my marble as early as possible, so it really wasn't a big deal for me. Sorry for the rambling anecdote. This "extremely competitive duel" was incredibly entertaining.

So we used a program called Parsec it essentially allows someone to remotely access your computer. You can also use dolphin netplay. Apparently it works pretty good.
It's always a risk watching a Pikmin video because it could send me into a weeklong spiral where all I can think about is how to optimize my next Pikmin run.
last week i completed Pikmin 2 on Dolphin as well and i can say: The controls are fine with mouse and keyboard. Sure, you dont have total 360° range like with an analog stick, but since you can focus the camera behind you and got your mouse to controll the throw, it never has to be that precise. And since i never came around buying Pikmin 2 for GC or Wii, it was my first time and it was a good time. I think i missed out on that after playing Pikmin 1 on GC and Pikmin 3 on WiiU decades ago ^^
