A cam can sound as mean as fuck at idle but it won't do you much good if it's not properly matched to your setup. Usually its the last thing you put in an engine. Thats why just a cam upgrade alone won't net you as much power as other things like heads and intake.
well you would need the cam to start all new gaskits for the upper and lower intake and water pump and front of the oil pan...you would not need a new intake, just google 5.0 cam install and it should walk you through everything if you wanted to swap it yourself (but i dont recommend this since it was kinda hard for me and ive been working on motors for 8 year) but im only 19 also.
I think that settles it. I'm getting a B303 for my '95 Cobra. I have the exact same exhaust setup on my car now except that I have 40-series "original flows" rather than 1-chambers.
Nice sounding 5.0. I have a cammed 350 in my Monte Carlo that sounds something like this, are those 1 chamber flows loud? Im thinking about getting a new exhaust and my 40's aren't loud enough....
this sounds dumb...but i have a 91 mark vii with 130k miles. i want a mean aggressive idle, thinking about camming my car with the b303. i have headers into exhaust, underdrive pulleys and cold air intake. this sounds noobish but just wondering, what exactly would I need to get a cam like this installed? like what parts would i need and everything and would i need a new intake?
Hey guys quick question for anyone who can answer. I'm at about 300whp currently and I want to make more power. I want to stay N/A for now. I currently have a stock block 302 from a 1990 GT in my 95 chassis. I have a b303 cam, edlebrock rpm 2 intake mani, gt40 heads and 24lb injectors, and too much more to list. What head/cam combo can I use while meeting PTV clearance and making more power? Would twisted wedge heads and tfs stage 2 cam see a difference worthy of the price? Thanks to anyone who can help me out.
Id say the best bang for your buck would definitely be to boost it, I've seen used Vortech kits for these things go for $1800. That would meet your goals plus sound awesome. Unless you found the heads and cam for sale cheap, that's the route I'd take if I still had my 302.
DRIVE TIME My father has an 89 mustang. E303 cam and GT40x heads. You need to port the heads and get a bigger cam, to match the intake, but you'll lose all of your low end torque. If you swap out the intake for an edelbrock performer you'll gain gobs more torque, and probably not lose but 5 hp, with your setup. problem with your set up is, its not matched properly, that and get a nice tune.
+DRIVE TIME you could run a stroker kit and bump compression ratio if you want to stay n/a but i agree with ARC0510 at some point you have to boost or put it on the botle if you want to make some big horse power. you can try diff head cam combos maybe pick up a few HP from what you have now but its a lot of money to throw. Is there is an old saying --- no replacement for displacement----- take it with a grain of salt with all the Technology out today but it dose hold true. 351 block stroked can be punch all the way out to a 427 with PAWs 427ci 351W kit that will give you power of a big block weight of a small block . but 300whp is not bad I had about the same in my 1995 mustang but I live in CA and got tired of the smog so I pulled the set up and put it in a 65 mustang so i no longer have to smog. Im in the same boat now what do i do to make more power out of my little 302 if i want to stay n/a.
you should go with a Kaase P-38 heads and put a mild cam the heads come complete you could get the heads for 2500 dollars and you will have to get the piston to clear the valves from hitting the top of the piston. word is out that those heads on a stock 302 could push 550 horsepower with a mild cam.
should i go with the B cam or E cam? ive heard that the B cam gets more high end power. in regards to sound, they both sound aggressive and choppy so sound isnt what im basing my decision on
Hey man I know this vid post was a while back but I was hoping to get your opinion on drive-ability of this cam with minor support mods like intake and bolt-ons. Thanks!
@firenicez You done? or you going to copy and paste this on every video with a "motor" in it on youtube...I bet with that amazing knowledge it gets you all the women...btw the way the car had ported GT40 heads and ported upper and lower GT40 to match.
Please tell me you didn't put a B303 cam in a stock 302. sniperv25 is right...cam should be one of the last things. You should have the heads ported to help with the flow...otherwise the extra flow doesn't do you much good...and you'd need to upgrade your valve springs to keep from getting "coil binding". Then...You can start calling it an "Engine"...not a "motor". A motor is electric...and your Mustang doesn't sound like its electric. (for example...A starter motor) just educating u a little
This sounds perfect, much better than your other video that I left a negative comment on.
your car is an inspiration to me. I have a 5.0 and I always show people ur vids and say this is how I want mine to sound.

I love the way the b-cam sounds!
car sounds sick...but you gotta do a drive by or take off vid
nope theres no bottom end work done still stock pistons and stock crank...only thing is ported heads and intake and the b303 cam
sounds good.
Nothing like the Mario Bros whistling

sounds bad ass, nevermind all the flaming internet trolls hatin.
sounds sweet, i have the same setup but american thunder flowmasters
sounds great! What size rocker arms are on there?
You should do a fly-by video, that cam sounds badass with the 1 chambers.
Sounds good. It idles nice too
Gotta love the sound of a cammed v8
did the cam and headers jus make it sound like this or u did some else because i want my mustang 2 sound like that
Sounds like horses galloping.
I think that settles it. I'm getting a B303 for my '95 Cobra. I have the exact same exhaust setup on my car now except that I have 40-series "original flows" rather than 1-chambers.
Sounds great man, its odd though i think i have seen that mustang somewhere before...
whats the set up on that beast?
i need some cams...
Sweet Mustang, I am trying to find myself a nice one to buy and do some things to
I agree
what part number of the flowmasters did you buy? im doin my exhaust in a couple weeks. b cam goes in this week. thanks
Sounds great!
What kind of top end you runnin besides the cam? Stock short block?
i love the sound of 303 cams.
fuck man i wanna see it drive. it sounds good but fuck lets see if it can back up the sound.
Nice sounding 5.0. I have a cammed 350 in my Monte Carlo that sounds something like this, are those 1 chamber flows loud? Im thinking about getting a new exhaust and my 40's aren't loud enough....
