In aespa's lore, Nævis sacrificed herself to protect the girls from quantum data-based threats in the real world (represented by Black Mamba). Nævis' debut is supposed to be her resurrection and foray into the human world. When she says "done", I think she's referring to defeating the threats posed by Black Mamba and other rogue Æ (alter egos created by humans uploaded into the quantum realm aka Kwangya). The whole "I will have you on your knees" part sounds like she's talking to black mamba saying "I'm not bowing down to your false projections- my sacrifice has been made and now I'm restoring the real world to peace". Nævis has some shorts on her channel that explain her background, and Peace1 is the username of the girl who initially connected her to the real world
From my understanding, she's not fully AI. Her face DEFINITELY is, but all those scenes of her with the dancers are actually a real person doing motion capture for Nævis, with her face (and body for the parts where she turns into her anime form) digitally swapped. Her voice has been described by SM Entertainment as being the combination of 12 voice actresses. So basically, her voice is a voicebank, like with the Vocaloids (like Hatsune Miku) in Japan.
The voice is all 4 aespa members blended together. Idk why they put the icky auto-tune on it because the girls have flawless voices. I hope the debut of naevis only serves to boost the aespa girls' careers
SM released a statement in 2023 saying her voice is a blend of 4 SM artists' voices, but didn't specify whose. It's easy to hear that it's the aespa girls.
none of this is groundbreaking or new, its existed for over 20 years and mostly prominent in the japanese music industry in the form of vocaloids. Miku Hatsune being the biggest name. If you've heard of her, naevis is exactly the same here, is just that the korean industry is playing catchup. I've seen a lot of reactors get confused by this and I don't blame any of them, mainstream/public perception of this has gotten super confused with the rise of ai generation. Naevis is Ai in the lore/story but this isn't Ai generatored songs, its way older tech that uses a vocal library composes of multiple voices contributed by people. The software then uses this to form the vocals to the lyrics typed by the producer. (Thats why it sounds robotic/ auto tune btw) I hope you do see this, because whilst the fear of ai content is real, its getting attached to old tech like vocaloids and makes the whole thing messier to understand. I recommend reading up more on the history of vocaloids, because the korean industry will likely start introducing more of these (from different labels following SM). Key thing to note with vocaloid industry, it never replaced real artists, but its more of its own genre, japanese artists are doing just fine in the industry for the past 20 years. That being said, I agree, the song doesnt really do much after the 1st listen and not something I'm personally to listen to much again. I'm here for any lore implications or additions to aespa and the cool visuals, thats about it 😁
First time I heard it I only liked certain parts. Unfortunately, I enjoy the song now. The videos they released for this music video gave some context to what SM is attempting to do with the storyline but who knows at this point. Still feel like I heard a mashup of all the members voice used as her voice. Hopefully they'll release the girls solo songs soon ✨️
I think it would've been cooler if they took naevis down the route that V-Tubers use. Where it's a real person, but they have a digital avatar/persona. It would make so much sense for naevis and allowed the MV's to be more on the anime/cartoon style.
We always thought the face of this is AI but actually if you see the credits at the end it probably involved more people in this project than an actual artiste album would, we always fail to see the people behind the scenes.
I suggest you definitely recommend Hwasa's new mini album music video. The songs are so good and outstanding. Hwasa's voice and personal charm are totally unstoppable! Please🙏 It's a pity to miss it!
With all my knowledge on 3D modeling , animating , etc.. and after talking about it with my Animator friends i've came with the conclusion that this is a real person dancing and moving during most of the video. But when it changes to the different forms of "naevis" it is definetly animated by a real person , the moves are choppy or sometimes too cartoony. I have to say they have got a great idea of merging real with ai and 3D together. The background from what it seems is fully 3D , the characters too exept for the one we see dancing a lot That one is a real person with some deepfake used on the face (or ai on the face). During the Cartoonish models , the animation is not that good , meaning its made by a person and it would be rude using the term ai for THOSE parts , but for the face definetly suited for it (same for the voice). Also i have to add the motion capture kim is for the model of naevis that is shown during the M/V's : Dreams come true , Next Level , Welcome To My World and obviously Done. That specific model uses mocap during some scenes for example when she's walking. also what i said was more so a theory that i actually found it is TRUE , i didn't see the credits before but it has something credited (on top of the mocap credit ) as "Hyper Real Face Swap" so that pretty much confirmed my theory :)

17명의 목소리로 학습된 AI로부터 생성된 목소리입니다. SM에서는 AEI라고 소개하고 있습니다.

That’s what I was thinking too. I was feeling Winter, NingNing and Karina.
