    Can we talk about how cool the crochet and knitting community is?! Using your platform to help people find what they want to wear while shouting out small buisnises, so cool!

    the way you talk about masculinity, fashion and sizing is so refreshing. love seeing other queer people out there doing the thing that i am learning!! warms my heart. hi transmasc fiber arts community ily

    as a trans masc person who has just started knitting, THANK YOUUUU. ive been struggling to find knitting patterns, i needed this

      not sure how helpful this is, but there are a lot more "vintage" knitting patterns for men because it used to be the only way regular people could have knitwear, but if that's inaccessible for any reason, id say its easier to make more "masc" knit pieces because generally "masculine" clothes utilise more boxy shapes and looser fits. so honestly just play around with making large squares/rectangles and peicing them together! itll help with muscle memory and just getting the hang of knitting in general, and you can really experiment and have fun!
      idk if that helps, just something i thought might be worth suggesting 😊

      The lack of nice clothes for men is such a struggle, I'm more of a crocheter and I'm having to come up with my own stuff in order to make anything nice for myself that isn't either overly feminine or overly boring 😭

      @@jackriver8385same theres literally no mens clothes in the thrift stores in my area... my citys 3 story h&m doesnt even have a mens section... Its so dire

      Me to except I've been knitting literally 12 years and it's so hard to find any masculine patterns that aren't either boring or the 800th sweater I'll have knitted. Like I just want to make my own clothes because I'm fcking tiny and swim in most men's clothing but all the patterns online are literally sweaters with like 3 hats and 2 scarves thrown in for some "flavor"

    Me, someone who crochets, on my way to go form an alliance with my sibling who only knits. But in all seriousness, I appreciate this video and its crochet partner so so much!! your videos have made me get back into fiber art again and the masc/genderless lean has been a huge reason for that and it feels so good to make things, so thank youuu

    yall will SLAY making these patterns, and i hope the finished pieces grant you ALL the gender euphoria 👌

    It took me almost two years to finish the Pure Mesh pullover. I don't even know how many times I frogged it. What finally helped was adding a lifeline every five or so rows, in case any stitches dropped or if there were errors.

    Currently trying to design a sweater and honestly trying to get the colourwork to work with a shape that minimises my chest dysphoria is a STRUGGLE

    • @chacharealclanky3580

      This is kind of late, and idk what kind of colourwork/pattern/vibe you're going for, but I have the same issue sometimes and for me it's helped to do most of my colourwork on the back?

    • @heidih3048
      @heidih3048 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To me, all-over colorwork in geometric shapes accomplishes this. Especially when paired with a boxy/oversized shape-- ie, and oversized, drop-shoulder sweater.

    I swear masculine clothing means a completely different thing to gen z vs millenials. Unless maybe its a class thing instead

    • @heidih3048
      @heidih3048 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't know. I am late gen X and I do find these patterns to be non-feminine. I would classify them as "non-binary," which appeals to me as I am myself nonbinary.
      When I was younger, I felt more masculine, and to me that meant wearing black and gray mostly-- "drab" colors, and angular shapes. Is that conception of masculine dress similar to what you are referring to as the "masculine" of millennials?

  • @mollysargent389
    @mollysargent389 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm an old soul millennial who is still learning the language of the zoomers. What is a polo moment?

  • @Sewingtrue100
    @Sewingtrue100 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    A bit disappointing, not really for men, and the masculine influence, a bit of a stretch. Do a men’s pattern. Also a lot of patterns, including knitting and machine knitting, the sleeves are too short, always add 5cm on average for sleeves. Industrial sizing charts a plus.

    As a gaybro and experienced knitter, was very interesting to see your take on patterns people are selling 🤔 nothing breathtaking technique-wise, which is what makes me salivate, but interesting nonetheless. Thank you ❤
