Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God’s infinite grace and power. All that God is, and all that God has, is at the disposal of prayer; but we must use the key. Prayer can do anything that God can do, and since God can do anything, prayer is omnipotent. No one can stand against the person who knows how to pray, who meets all the conditions of prevailing prayer, and who really prays, and if they are willing to pay the price. Works won't give you peace. Read Acts and know it is obedience to the full salvation message. To the Jews Acts chapter 2. For the Gentile Acts chapter 10. To those who have not heard the gift of the Holy Spirit Acts chapter 19. Once we've come to see how the apostles commanded the Baptism was in The Name of Jesus and not in titles one can understand the truth. Mark 16: 16. Prayer does not save us. Fasting does not save us. Getting wet does not save us but Repentance and full obedience. Repent, baptism and receive the Holy Ghost with the common evidence. After that we fast to deny our flesh, prayer to commune with our Father. Walking on obedience and listening to the Holy Spirit to walk in Him. We cannot be holy. In ourselves but we are the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus .

I will help the same people if I see that they are in trouble but sometimes silently feel resentment towards them. They are not aware of it because I have never treated them badly.

I think the greater danger in some of the entertainment that he talks about is that even if they are done in a God honoring way, they can be a distraction from prayer. There have been times in my life where I wasn't watching anything sinful per se, just cooking shows and homemaking blogs, but they kept me from spending time with God in prayer. There are times my husband and I who would never waste money on gambling (we are too cheap lol!!) played card games together when we should have been spending time in prayer for his ministry as a pastor. Getting a hunger and thirst for souls to be saved, for Christians to be on fire for God, for missions and the poor helps me not waste time on less important things than entreating God for these things!! The heart of the matter is that we desire entertainment more than we do spending time with the God of the universe - prayer is not entertaining the way we are used to being entertained in our culture. I am not saying it is wrong to have fun or enjoy life, but if we make that our first priority, we won't see the life giving, joy bringing answers to prayer that we other wise could!
What we do and how much time we spend on entertainment reveals where our heart is, for sure. There are so many better things to be doing, things which honor God and reaches the hearts of those who need to hear of Christ.
