It's neat for programming color palettes to the backgrounds and various objects, but the project never took off because of how difficult it was to use, and just how ugly the results can be sometimes, like this. There were never any bug fixes or improvements as a result
I really don't see the overwhelming difficulty here. At worst, it could just be some control limitations due to the GB D-pad mixed with the fairly challenging design of the level.
