Time to overanalyze: The reason Xeph is so adamant on keeping the traveler around is because he's just thirsty for info on the outside world. He's clearly a free soul as seen by his 'galivanting with satyrs' thing and hates being tied down so it makes sense that when he sees this traveler who's been everywhere, a fresh face, and a fountain of information you bet your ass he's not going to let them slip through his fingers. Ivy on the other hand sees the value of rules and laws etc etc but he's also more open-minded and flexible in his thinking as seen as him willing to share his thoughts with the traveler even though he's been taught that everything outside the forest is bad. His moral compass is crystal clear and he looks like the type of elf who'll work his ass off to reach his goals. Going onwards I think he'll try to seek guidance and answers from one of the elders only to be shut down and like, conflict ensues as his ideals are challenged. Conclusion: Is Xeph still sus? Absolutely. Because unlike Ivy, who is lawful good, he's more... lawful evil He has his own agenda and code of conduct and no one knows how far he'll go to fulfill it. But wouldn't you lose your mind too if you had to spend your whole life at home, not being able to go outside at all bcs ur elders say that the outside world is dangerous and you'll die if you go out when u can just look out the window and see the rest of the world just minding their own business.

The strict elf series didn't actually tell us what happened to Ornvir, and if we are that same bandit, imagine the heartbrake we would be feeling when we heard ornvir was burned at the stake.
I’ve been watching this multiple times and I feel like I just uncovered a theory. So we all remember ornvyr (sad times), ornvyr died before he could truly blossom with the love he has for the human. My theory is that ornvyr love was put into these two brothers. My reasoning would be that ivy likes to follow rules, is open and flustered easily just like a part of ornvyrs personality, and xeph is the laid back, flirtatious side of orchestra personality. Other reasons would be that I feel like the levels would be more spiritual than others, and humans tend to believe more in reincarnation than other stuff so it could be possible the human we see now is the reincarnation for the one in ornvyrs time. Also the brothers both share the idea of wanting to go see what’s outside of the village just as ornvyr did. There’s is in fact a sad part about this theory I’ve come up with and it’s that one of these brothers will die. Why? Because there’s two vessels for this reincarnated love which means it was a precaution if he where to die again he would still be able to live that love he wanted( it also could be a thing where he was just destined to die again and wanted a way to keep living). If this where to happen I feel like the brother who serviced will take on some of the personality of the brother that died to make the verle whole again. This is just a thought I had since the mention of ornvyr in this time of the timeline.

Okay okay okay two things:
1) The more Xeph talks to us, the less I feel like he regards us as a person and more a new shiny toy to "play" with. Ivy may have a tree trunk stuck where the sun doesn't shine, but he's so earnest to do what's right, to be the best guard he can be. Even with all his blind devotion to the elders, his heart is filled with kindness. Full team Ivy all the way.
2) BURNED AT THE STAKE?!? Gods, hell, I knew Ornvyr was gonna be executed but I didn't expect something that brutal and painful. I had to pause the video because learning that just hurt so badly, sorrow ran through me like a freaking river. Damn. I couldn't help but mutter "I don't want that to happen to you," to Ivy. My poor Ornvyr, you've not been forgotten :,(
